As he woke up, he found his hand, still entangled with Khushi, who held it like a treasure. Her face expressing, her dreams. Arnav smiled looking at her innocent face caressed her cheeks with other hand. While he did that, Khushi smiled a bit more and held his hand more tight and pressed it against her chest. Arnav couldn't help but smile even more. He then, bent down to kiss her forehead, when suddenly, the thought of NK and Khushi's relationship held him back. The curve of his lips changed into tensed one and he slowly tried to removed his hands, which she had held with a very tight grip.
Since he was trying to loosen himself from her tight grip, it disturbed her and broke her sleep. Slowly, still holding his hand she opened her eyes, like a baby. Arnav, who was struggling, now sat their awe struck as he saw her opening her beautiful eyes and then passing a baby, innocent smile to him. Automatically, he smiled back.
"Good morning Arnav!", she said. still in sleepy tone.
"Good morning..sorry! Ii was getting late so..", Khushi interrupted..."Ah! Its okay!", she got up, while Arnav helped her. She then, moved towards the bathroom.
"You ok now?", Arnav asked.
"Yah! I am fine!", she smiled and went inside the bathroom to freshen up.
Arnav started walking towards the other room to bathe, but the thought that she might need something, he sat there, waiting for her to come out. Though, he was getting a bit late, still he waited for her, after all, she was his responsibility. After 30min, Khushi came out and saw Arnav sitting there.
"I am sorry, I went to bathroom, without asking you and took so much time! But you could have used other bathroom!", she apologised.
"Ah! No no...its ok...Just sat here...so that I could help you, if u needed any.", he said.
Khushi smiled and walked towards him. She then asked him to bend down his head upto her level. He Did. Khushi then gave a peck on his cheek, Arnav smiled with pleasure..her touch..she then whispered, " You are going to be best Dad Arnav!"
As soon as he heard, this...his expression changed from pleasure to tensed look. He pulled himself away from her and said in firm tone, " Khushi how many times I have told you to stay away from me!"
"Arnav why are behaving like this?", she questioned.
"Because you are pregnant dammit!", he replied.
"So, a pregnant lady can't romance...right?", she said in sarcastic tone.
"Its not that Khushi! You belong to someone else!", he said, lump forming in his throat.
He then moved towards her, kept his hand on her shoulder and said, "And, I will soon find him out!". She removed his hands off her shoulder in anger and barked at him..
"I am pregnant with your baby and you are going to find whom? You are my baby's dad...why there is need to find another person"
Arnav sternly replied," how many times I have to tell you that its not baby!"
Khushi replied," And how many times I have said its your baby dammit!"
"Khushi why ain't you understanding. From the day one I am saying this not my baby, Its Nicks and your baby!"
"Oh Just shut up Arnav! You think I would...leave it!", she barked, and while wiping her tears made way to hall.
"Damiit!", Arnav shouted and angrily went to the bathroom. He hurriedly and quiet angrily got dressed up. He wasn't angry that Khushi was staying with her, or she shouted at him sometime back...but the fact, how nicks left her in this state angered him more and more. Though, he knew that he could never make Khushi his' still he can't see her in this state..and all because of Nicks!
After he was dressed he called Aman.
"Yah Aman! Any news about NK?", he enquired.
"No sir! We tried everywhere...but no response! The place which Shuklaji, NK sir's employee told was empty!", he informed.
"I don't know anything Aman! Find him anyhow! Mind it, I want NK here at any cost before Khushi's baby! Did you get that!?!", he barked at him and cut the call. He regretting the way he talked to Khushi and her tears, were not leaving his mind. He composed himself and went to the hall.
"Khushiii", he called out. But couldn't find anyone. Maid came from kitchen hearing his voice.
"Yes sir!"
"Where is Khushi?", Arnav enquired.
"Mrs. Sharma came and took her out for a walk", replied maid
"Ohk...did she had her breakfast?", he asked.
"Yah!"
"Serve me too and when she comes back, take a proper care of her..Okay?", ordered Arnav. Maid nodded and served him. When he was done he drove to his office and got indulged in his work.
The day passed by and came evening. Still feeling guilty about morning's argument with Khushi, he drove back to his home and promised to ask for apologise. He rung the bell. Maid opened it and seeing Arnav back, as daily routine , she left for her home.
Arnav went inside and called out," Khushiii..."
No response!
"Khushiii", he called out again. He then, toured the whole house, but couldn't find her. He even checked the terrace, and found her missing.
'What if she left the house because of morning Argument!', he got scared..'Sh*t! What I have done? Where will she go? Mann..what the..!', he cursed himself.
He composed himself and then rushed towards the door to look for Khushi, when the bell rang. Thinking, it must Khushi he opened it quickly and sighed when he finally saw her.
"Oh Khushi! I was so scared! Listen, I am really sorry about morning argument! Ii swear I never wanted to hurt you! I am..I am reaaly very very sorry Khushi", he apologised while moving towards her.
As he came out, he saw one more figure standing beside Khushi..
"DI ! YOU!", He almost shouted. Standing there was a lady of middle age, one hand clapsed with Khushi and on other was her luggage. Arnav quickly took luggage from her hand and she and Arnav helped Khushi to get inside and make herself comfortable.
"Di, I am sorry...I just for...", Khushi interrupted him..
"Yah Di..he was coming to take you, but I told him to concentrate on his work first! He did contradict many times, but you know me naa...I..", Anjali hushed her.
"Don't lie Khushi! I know chotte forgot that I was coming! He and his work...! Always working for our happiness! To fulfil our dreams and at the end forgetting about himself!", Anjali said and hugged him hard. Arnav hugged her back lovingly, after all, she was the only kin he was left with! Then, she broke the hug and looked towards Khushi and said
"And, you madam, keeps on saving him!", all giggled.
Then he looked at watch and noticed that it was time for dinner. He then said to both.."You carry on! As our cook is out, I will get something from restaurant." and left.
While driving, he remembered how Khushi tried to save him from Di. He smiled at this act of her and drove to favourite restaurant and ordered trio's favourite meal.
After receiving his desired order he drove back home. He smiled more and more thinking about reaction of Khushi on seeing her favourite dish from her favourite restaurant and rung the bell. Anjali opened the door and welcomed him with a smile. He got inside and put the things on the table, while Anjali arranged the table.
Arnav looked around and Khushi was no where to be seen so Arnav enquired.." Where is Khushi?"
"Umm...she is in the Kitchen.", replied Anjali.
"Aloneee???", he asked in shocked voice.
Anjali nodded in yes.
"Di how could you let her be alone in kitchen. And, what the hell she's doing there? I have bought the dinner naa!", yelled Arnav, while Anjali tried to explain something. Arnav quickly rushed towards the kitchen, when he finally saw Khushi, coming out with a vessel.
"Khushi khushi...I told you know, NO WORK! Give it to me.", he said while taking vessel from her hand...even though vessel was very hot.
"Arnav...its isn't that heavy and its really hot...give it to me!", she said. Arnav didn't paid heed to what she was saying and concentrated down on floor to ensure that there was no water on the floor.
"Arnavvv...", she again said, while trying to snatch.
"Shut up Khushi!", he shut her up while concentrating on floor. After they reached the table, he kept the vessel aside while Anjali helped Khushi to sit down.
Arnav continued.."Di. How could you let her work?"
Before Anjali could speak..Khushi said.." Arnav...she was with me...after lot of insistence, she left the kitchen...and also at the end of my cooking session!"
"But, what the hell you were doing at the kitchen? I was, by the way, bringing the dinner naa!", he said.
"I...just...", Khushi shied.
"What??", Arnav questioned again. Anjali did a facepalm, then, she removed the cover of the vessel.
"For this!", she pointed out.
Arnav looked at the vessel and his eyes widened with surprise. Like a small kid, a smile crept on his face and he shouted..
"Moong daal kaa halwa!"
He took spoon and ate it from the vessel. He did not care if it was hot and put it inside mouth...
"Ow...wow!", he shrieked but at the same time gulped it down.
"WOW!!", he said again...
Anjali continued.." Khushi wanted to do something for you! She thinks, she does nothing, except sitting and resting! And, you...do alot for her. Get up late at night to get ice cream, sit beside her & doze off there in an uncomfortable position and much more. She thought she can't do much so, can at least do this much", she explained.
Arnav stood there, holding his spoon. He looked towards Khushi, who had turned her face to avoid eye contact with him. She was very shy to accept that she did this for him.
