Banking on 'Arranged Marriage', Shweta Keswani has lost out on several big projects.
Star Plus is yet to give the green signal for UTV's 'Arranged Marriage'. Actor Shweta Keswani who was banking heavily on the show is naturally anxious. "The channel is waiting for a one-hour slot for the show. As soon as we get it, we are on. We have already shot 11 episodes of which five episodes are ready with the background score."
The story is about five wedding planners whose own love lives are a wreck. Besides Shweta, the star cast includes Bakhtiyaar Irani playing a socialite designer, Varun Badola with a mystery lurking around him, Rajeshwari who is a small town girl and Jignesh who is a car mechanic.
With the show being delayed, Shweta has surely felt the brunt. She has had to refuse several offers "I was offered 'Twinkle Beauty Parlour' and 'Left Right Left'. Also 'Resham Dankh' had come to me initially but the channel eventually settled for Mouli Ganguly."
The delay has cost her dearly which means it has been a setback in her career "See, once the show comes on air it will be big. In comparison, this delay is a minor disappointment" is her way of consoling herself.
Presently, Shweta does not have any shows on hand besides 'Arranged Marriage'. "It is by choice and not by chance that I have not taken on work. I have become choosy about my work and would rather wait than take on anything. Right now, I am busy with my live events and looking forward to my visit to Goa where my film 'Memsahib' is being previewed at the film festival. I have my hands full" she signs off.
