The CID team was working day in and day out on the case, the phones of the ABC company and the Handa Haveli were taped.

At the Handa Haveli,

Palak was playing with her father Maan, though he knew that she is not his daughter he loved her endlessly, he had no regrets with the little being. He had married Sameera with the knowledge that she was carrying someone else's child. And to say that he married her just for Palak would not be wrong.

Sameera resembled Geet in many ways, she was of the same height as Geet, if someone sees them from back, they will easily get confused. From a distance also they looked alike, only difference that could be made out was their way of carrying their hair. But if you are close by you will find no resemblance, they look different, and while Geet had huge melting eyes Sameera had regular eyes. While Geet had lovely pouting lips, Sameera had full kissable ones. They were very similar yet ways apart.

Maan had not known Geet before meeting her at Mumbai. While he knew Sameera much before he married her. He found Sameera to be a very stubborn and idiotic girl. When he met her for the first time she was too young hardly 16. She was studying in 10^th standard and was very average in studies.

She tried to clear the entrance exam for architecture but failed. But she had no grievances for it, she was happy go lucky. Sometimes Maan found her way too innocent.

When she was in 12^nd standard, Sukhvinder told him that she was doubtful about her involved in some wrong relationship. And soon he learnt that she was even having physical relationship with that unknown guy.

One day when Maan went to Handa Haveli he witnessed Sukhvinder scolding his daughter, Sameera was endlessly crying, and was saying, "Papa, he promised he will marry me was soon as he gets divorce" the old man was shocked, "What, he is married?" he fell down.

Maan took him immediately to the hospital; the old man had had a severe heart attack. Within a month he was shifted back to his house. Maan took care of him, one day when he was returning from the Haveli after his usual visit, Nakul the house help came and informed that Sameera has locked herself in her room, Maan immediately went to find what was wrong.

She was not opening the door, Maan with the help of two other servants forced the door to open, and was horrified to find that Sameera was trying to hang herself. He immediately asked everyone to leave and forced her to talk to him.

She told him that she was 3 months pregnant and the doctor has refused to help her get rid of the child and that guy has also refused to acknowledge that this was his child. Maan felt very bad for that 18 year teenage stupid girl. He asked her to rest and took the promise that she will not try to take her life again.

Later when Sukhvinder learnt about this he again had another attack, and later Maan on seeing Sameera's innocent face and her father's plight offered to marry her, after all she looked so much like his first love, Geet.

Sameera was a very good girl, she became a very devoted mother and a very supportive wife. She never complained that Maan did not consummate their marriage, she was grateful that he had saved not only hers but also Palak's life.

But when Geet entered their lives their peaceful life became restless. Though Maan did not say anything, Sameera sensed change in his behavior, she became insecure, she had once been rejected by the man she loved, and now she was afraid Maan will leave her for some other woman, therefore she started spying on him.

She was broken when she found that her elder cousin Geet was the source of attraction. Geet was a 31 year old woman and had no competition with her as she was only 23 years of age. She was young but her youth held no attraction for Maan. Soon she learnt that Maan was compassionate for her just because she looked like Geet. And she cannot blame Geet also as she had already betrayed her by having affair with her own Jiju her husband. She sometimes feared that Geet has come in their lives to take revenge.

Abhijeet came running along with Vikrant, the team has informed that they have taped some fishy conversation between the two ladies, one lady was talking from the Handa Haveli phone and the other from a nearby guest house.

The conversation was like this:

L1: hello

L2: hello, how are you?

L1: Why have you called me? (voice sounded as if she was afraid)

L2: I had to tell you something important

L1: what?

L2: Dev is dead

L1: I know

L2: still you are not mourning

L1: why would I? Everything between us finished years ago

L2: relationships don't finish so easily, they only die with the death of one of the two

L1: But (panicking)

L2: now that Dev is dead, you can say things are finished

L1: but

L2: now wait for the others relationships to end

L1: what do you mean?

L2: now it's time for your relationship with Maan to finish

L1: no you cannot do this

L2: I will do nothing, all will happen by itself

L1: what will you do? You will kill me?

L2: no, your chance will come when I will want to end your relationship with me

L1: then

L2: it's Maan's turn to go after Dev

L1: no you can't kill him; after all you too love him

L2: then it's good his relationship will end not only with you but also with me

L1: no you can't kill him, if you want kill me

L2: no, it's his chance now

L1: no, please I beg of you, if you want I will kill myself but please don't harm him

L2: tch ch, poor cousin, I will come to meet you tomorrow, after all I will have to support you at your loss, as it will be my loss also

She laughed hysterically while the other lady sobbed bitterly

They played and replayed the tape; Vikrant recognized one of the two voices one belonged to Sameera. He called Myra and she recognized the other voice, it belonged to Geet.
