Around five in the evening the doctor walked in the room She saw it mostly dark with just some sunlight coming out those curtains. She walked over to the other side of the room where Armaan and Virika were sitting as Veera still was asleep.
dr - "I heard she got a fever again"
j - "Yeah, after the test she was having a breakdown again. She just really wants to go home now"
dr. - "Well I guess she can then"
Viren, Jeevika, and Armaan all started smiling really brightly with hopes that everything was better.
v - "So that means her test results are better? I mean the cancer?"
dr. - "The cancer is definitely decreasing now. And she's making good progress, but yes we still need to continue this treatment but after she gets a little break. Her body has become very fragile and she's almost reaching 100 pounds which is a little scary. So we will release her for 2-3 weeks and then bring her back for the last phase of the treatment"
v - "Thank you so much. She's really going to be excited listening to this"
dr. - "She really will be. I will get her discharge papers ready so she can leave by tomorrow morning"
j - "Thank you"
The doctor smiled and left the room. Viren hugged Jeevika as he was so happy to finally be hearing some good news. Armaan just smiled at both of them also. He couldn't stop seeing how emotional the both of them were, just the way parents would be listening to a their child fighting cancer. Veera truly was Viren and Jeevika's little baby.
v - "I can't wait now to take her home tomorrow. Let me go call ma and Virat"
j - "No you stay, I'll go call them"
Viren smiled at Jeevika as she left the room. Virat and Vanshika were both sick the past week and didn't come to the hospital to meet Veera. They didn't want to take a risk with her fragile health already. Viren just smiled looking at Veera. He just wanted to wake her up and tell her, but she needed her rest so he didn't.
j - "I just told them" she said whispering to Viren.
Viren smiled in return. Okay you guys sit here, i'll go pick up some food.
j - "Viren we'll go get some later. Anyways I'm not hungry"
v - "You sure jeevs?"
j - "Positive. Anyways let's wait for Veera to get up"
Veera started moving around her bed slowly shifting her head to the other pillow.
a - "Hey, are you feeling better?"
veera - "Not until I get out of this room and this hospital, so NO"
viren - "Well you're going to be leaving soon?"
veera - "Why did the doctor come and say I don't have that much time left' Seems like it"
viren, jeevika, and armaan - "VEERA"
veera - "calm down, what did she say?"
Viren looked at Jeevika and then they both looked at Armaan.
veera - "Can you tell me already'. the poor cancer suffering patient is waiting"
a - "She said that you can go home tomorrow because you're cancer cells have started decreasing"
Veera went into a state of shock unaware of anything. How she had died to hear those words from anyone. Decreasing? Cancer going away?
veera - "You know I will break up with you if I find out that you're lying" she said still unable to believe him
a - "Veera why would I lie about this?"
veera - "So you me..an that... I'm rea..lly getting better?" she said unable to control her emotions now and stammering.
Veera wanted to believe it, but didn't want to at the same time. She just thanked god and her family from the bottom of her heart. No words were flowing out her mouth, but her tears and smile were enough to show how grateful she was to the people in front of her.
viren - "You can stop crying now loser" he said with a huge smile on his face.
Jeevika just looked at him and slapped him real hard making the tears from Veera's eyes actually fall on her face and her smile brighten up the whole room.
j - "I wouldn't be talking about who is an idiot because we all know who the biggest one is"
Viren knew Jeevika was indirectly talking about him forgetting her birthday and he made a sorry face.
veera - "So I really get to go home tomorrow?"
jeevika - "Yes you do, finally after three long months"
veera - "Now I need to make a list of the things I want to do and go and eat"
viren - "Hello, not so fast. Be a little patient!"
veera - "You're telling me to be patient? Have you lost your brains?"
j - "He has actually' Seems like there are more laws and government stuff filled in his brain than anything else" she said making a dig at him again
veera - "What can you expect from him? Don't worry, I'm here for you bahbhi"
j - "That's the only reason I am surviving him in the first place" she said laughing with Veera.
v - "You two are never going to get off my case are you? You'll see now; both of you"
Now even Armaan started laughing a bit seeing the two ladies gang-up on Viren.
j - "We should see or you should? How dare you taunt me like this Viren. Seriously your on my nerves now"
v - "I made a mistake, I'm sorry. It just slipped my mind"
j - "Your wife's birthday slipped your mind? Thanks a lot! Totally feeling the love"
v - "I said I'm sorry, what do you want me to do?"
j - "Figure it out. And Veera dare you help your brother now. He doesn't deserve your help"
veera - "Okay fine, works with me. Your right actually why should I help him. He made a mistake, he has to rectify it" she said smiling
v - "Give me back my credit card then right now" he said extending his hand out.
Veera picked up his card from the side drawer and was about to hand it to Viren wen she smiled over at Jeevika and gave her the card instead
veera - "Enjoy the card" she said as both the girls were smiling like maniacs
j - "Don't you worry, we both will" she said as they hi-fived each other.
v - "Boy do I know how I tolerate you two together"
j - "Shopping date soon Veera? There's a huge winter sale and now that we have this card we can spoil ourselves a lot"
veera - "Works for me"
v - "How about you focus on relaxing a bit and then think about shopping"
veera - "Why do you always have to spoil the moment? Who do you think of yourself as?"
v - "Your older brother"
veera - "Yet you act like my younger brother"
