Varun Dhawan is single again...

Many relationships get sacrificed at the altar of success. Varun Dhawan and his girlfriend of five years Natasha Dalal have parted ways. Sources reveal that the split was amicable and the duo has decided to stay friends. Says a friend, "It was not so much Varun's overnight success as distance that spelled doom for these young lovers."

Natasha, a Mumbai girl, went to London to pursue a course in fashion and she has been stationed there for a while. Life, as they knew it, changed for them, once he became an actor, and she got busy with her new life in London. Says a friend of the couple, "It was inevitable. They had suddenly become very busy and their lives had changed a lot.

The time difference, new friends, different priorities... it just took a toll on the relationship." Also the recent rumors about Taapsee Punnu and Alia Bhatt didn't help matters.

Varun and Natasha were serious about each other and their families were aware that they are together. They were seen openly indulging in PDA in Mumbai recently. They looked totally besotted by each other.

But that was two months ago. Our source confirms the breakup, "It' was a mutual decision. It is never too easy for a girl to date an actor. Even though they both had talked about how things would change once his film released, they didn't realise that it would be so difficult to hold on to each other."

With the success of SOTY, Varun became one of the most sought-after newcomers and became too busy. Another thing that damaged this relationship was Varun's stand to claim he was 'single.' He was being launched as the next heartthrob, people in the business warned him that it would be best that he kept his girlfriend a secret.

Also, Varun is a private guy and didn't want his relationship to become the focus rather than his work. He'd discussed this with her in advance but somehow it became an issue later.

A friend of the couple says, "It's possible. When life settles for both of them and they are more comfortable with it. Neither Varun nor Natasha are looking forward to date someone else. They have decided to remain friends and see how it goes."
