I commiserated with Gayu , Im sure we all did but her behavior , her dialogues , no they don't explain her mental state. Her transformation kind of explains how Kaikeyi asked for her beloved Ram's exile . Blood is blood. Period.
And the blood thats filth in her eyes is actually the blood that has the strength to stand against the odds , to put other before him , to be strong , unlike her impotent spineless *biological* son.
Getting a shock after so many years of marriage , at this stage can me extremely upsetting but what justifies her behavior towards Yash? So much influence Gayu & Yash have always had on each other , while Yash is having complete control over his choleric attitude , Gayu is plain indifferent as if he doesn't exist for her.
