Chapter 30
Shaina broke the hug, and looked at Arjun. She knew that Arjun was angry at her, when he had seen those pictures, she had even felt his accusing eyes on her, while he had brought her here. But the Arjun looking at her now, was completely different. His eyes told her, that he believed her too. She had tears in her eyes, without even saying anything in her defense, they all trusted her.
Arjun brought the pictures with him, and threw them on the table. He asked Shaina to sit before starting any of his questions. He saw Rathore looked at the pictures, and waited for Rathore to say anything, but Rathore looked very angry and preferred to keep quiet.
Rathore had felt a strange thing when Shaina had rushed in his arms. He had felt as if the most important thing in his life was close to him. Now looking at those pictures didnt change any of his beliefs in her, her eyes did not lie. So he knew that those pictures must be false, or tricked somehow.
"What happened those two days! And i want every single thing out, even things which for you might be worthless! We can't ignore any clues!" Arjun said to Shaina. Everyone was present for Shaina's interrogation. Riya looked at her with encouraging eyes, and asked her to say everything.
"Please trust us, dont be scared of anything!" Riya said.
Shaina knew that if anyone could prove her innocent, then it was these people standing in front of her. So, she told them what had happened these two days, how she was abducted from the shopping mall, how she had been tied in a room, how Yashveer and Simran was there the first time she awoke.
"Simran?" Arjun asked stopping Shaina from continuing.
"Do you mean my ex- girlfriend! But why would she wanna hurt you?" Rathore asked, and when he saw that Shaina said yes, "Now i understand why she was here yesterday!" Rathore said angrily.
"Riya, try to find out everything about this Simran," Arjun told Riya, and then turning towards Shaina asked her continue.
Shaina continued to tell everyone about how Simran had brought Rathore's pictures in the hospital, and how Simran had tried to blackmail her with these pictures of her and Yashveer, and how all of a sudden Simran had left her free.
"I never met Yashveer that day? I didnt kill him!" Shaina finished.
"Theek hein Shaina, lekin yeh mamla kya hein? What's the story between you, Simran, Yashveer and Rathore if i'm guessing right!" Arjun asked, after finally connecting all those points together.
Shaina looked at Rathore before answering back. She didnt know if she'd be able to hide their relationship while explaining their past. Arjun saw Shaina looking at Rathore before answering, and somehow guessed why she was hesitant to tell everything.
"Please Shaina, we just need to know how you people are related, enough for Simran to hate you and kill Yashveer!" Arjun persisted.
Shaina decided that she'd somehow try to hide hers and Rathore's relationship while telling them about their past.
About more than one year ago
In ETF office
A new delicate case had been given to Rathore. A model had committed suicide, but in her letter she had clearly stated that she had been forced to do this because of some people. This girl was the daughter was a well-known businessman. Hence this case had been given to ETF.
The father had come to see Rathore and told him, "I know that everyone think my girl committed suicide, but trust me she had been driven to it! Here's a letter which i got a few days after she had taken her life!" He gave Rathore a letter, which clearly stated that something wrong was going in that modelling competition. The letter was from an unknown person, and the person feared for her safety, but she was willing to testify if the police could get enough evidences against that modelling group.
"Who is in charge of that modelling assignment?" Rathore asked, after accepting to take the case.
"A certain Miss Simran Gupta!" the businessman had said and had left after thanking and wishing Rathore all the best.
Rathore wanted to vomit remembering about Simran, but his work came first. He didnt know how to get to the real matter, so he decided that this would be an undercover mission to get to the truth and also an attempt to find girl who had written this letter. Hence Rathore had slowly re-entered Simran's life (hence those pictures Simran had shown him in the parking), and slowly both had started to become good friends again. During that case Rathore and Shaina also had met for the first time. And after about two weeks of undercover mission, Rathore had finally known the real truth behind this modelling competition, and the girl's suicide. He had also guessed that Shaina was the one who had written the letter.
This modelling competition was just an easy way to lure gullible girls in the world of fashion. But once these girls were in, they were treated as toys only. Actually behind the facade of a modelling competition, many girls were being forced for prostitution, and those who didnt agree were drugged and left at the mercy of rich men, and once their films and pictures were taken, they also didnt have any choice but to accept to such things. Shaina being already a model, she had somehow managed to evade this tricks and traps, but she couldn't save many of those new girls. She had tried to collect evidences to reveal the truth, but before she was finished, that girl had committed suicide. So in her last recourse, she didnt have any choice but to warn that girl's dad, hoping that he'd at least use his power and money to get the police to open a case. Till then Shaina would keep on collecting evidences against those monsters. But the problem was that they had started to get suspicious on her, and one day had caught her red-handed, and that day she had almost been killed, if it hadn't been for Rathore saving her, and getting all those monsters arrested.
Shaina was happy she was able to tell the truth without revealing anything of her and Rathore's story, how they had met, fought and then fallen in love. She glanced at Rathore to see if he remembered anything, but she could see nothing on his face.
"Simran was fooling girls, and selling them to rich men!" Shaina finished.
"But how's Yashveer involved in this? And how come Simran was released then from jail?" Arjun queried.
"Yashveer was a young photographer at that time, he was in love with me, actually the only reason i hadn't been forced into this was because he had always protected me from these things, from being drugged and more. But unfortunately he was the one drugging the other girls, and making their movies! He and Simran had both been arrested, but i heard that towards the end of the case, Yashveer had taken everything on him, and Simran had only gotten one year of jail!" Shaina finished.
Riya, who had been listening to all this, rushed to Shaina and asked, "Did he... I mean did anything..." she didnt know how to continue this phrase.
But Shaina knew what Riya was asking, so she replied, "No Riya, nothing happened. When Simran released me, i immediately went to see a doctor, who's a very close friend of mine, and had some tests done to see if i had been raped or not! But hopefully except drugging me, they never did more!"
