An important character was missing when that slap occurred. Regardless of whether or not Radha is his real mom, she is the only mom that Akash has known for 30 years. She raised him and loved him as much as she could even if she couldn't provide him with money (although so far it doesnt seem like she's done a great job of raising him). Akash has only known Gayathri for a few days and even then, she hasn't really bonded with him.
Do you think Akash would have said something to Gayathri had he been there?
