I dunno maybe but after seeing the various theories put up on MN and TLC I think there is a very clear possiblity to it. Also this is more in conjunction with JKR's own words. to put you up to date with it... in the Famous JKR MN interview with Melissa and Emerson she said that the basic values have been all depicted in the HP series... we still have to see a true depiction of Forgiveness and Redemption. He doesn't do it out of forgiveness, he does it out of love for his father's only friends.......

So now comming back to my dearest Severus Snape I think this (his love for lily) will act as his reason to Join the order and forget his older ways. That could also be the reason he hates Harry so much coz he is a mirror image of the person he hated so much coz he took away his beloved lily from him. Yet in his eyes he finds her. So in a way he(harry) frustrates Snape, bcoz he at the same time reminds him (snape) of his best memories as we'll as his worst (Imagine that poor guy's plight) 😛 😆. Maybe thatz why he's always tried to make life as tough as possible for Harry. To make him suffer the same as much as he does.
