Now that purpose of this "getting sotted" incident has been unraveled, I would say it was indeed an "episode of revelation" for both Madhu and us, audience...
The episode of today was an interesting one...
The first thing unraveled was that indeed it was RK's ego that made him seek revenge on Madhu : With RK admitting to Madhu about the only lie he ever told her and that being that "he was heartless"...
Secondly, In this process of taking revenge, he had let his ego dominate his heart or repress his new found emotions for Madhu so as to fulfill the one promise he had made to himself...and that was of destroying and breaking Madhu which he could not in any other way but by playing with her emotions...to put it simply "playing this game of love" with her : As Madhu rightly said that now how can she ever trust him and that she will never ever return to him..."Ek dhokha kha chuke hain, aur kha sakte nahin"...so how can RK expect her to put all her trust and faith in him all over again...
Thirdly, As it is natural that when one plays with fire one cannot remain unsinged...and this is exactly what happened to RK, how could he remain unscathed when this game involved an input of one's emotions : RK seeking forgiveness and pleading with Madhu to come back to him...To share his life with her...
Fourthly, For Madhu coming back to RK is inconceivable : the morning after is a shocker for Madhu as the moment she opens her eyes and comes to realization that she is at RK's room with him...the first thing she does is to make her hasty departure...
Lastly, though he has banished Madhu from his life, he has not been able to do so from his heart...eventually it's she who'll have the last laugh as it's her who has walked away with a "part of him" along with with her shattered heart...and that's how RK will meet his "nemesis"...when eventually he realizes and accepts his feelings for Madhu and that he's life is nothing without her...but by then it would be too late, because by then Madhu would have moved on...
Will this be a saga of "star crossed" lovers who almost meet but never actually unite...
my choice of retro today, though is a feminine version, somehow echoes RK's feelings :
"tujhe kho diya humne paane ke baad, tere jaane ke baad, tere jaane ke baad, teri yaad aayi..."
