'Comedy is very serious business'
Swapnil Joshii, who had taken a month-long break, is back with a comedy

Actor Swapnil Joshii is back on the after a month long break. Swapnil is now part of Kadvee Khattee Meethi on Star One. "I have been working continuously for the last five to six years. So, I think, I deserved this break. I was ready to begin work when Kadvee... was launched. So, now I am back," says Swapnil.
Swapnil says that though Hindi serials bring a lot of popularity, he makes it to point to work in at least one Marathi serial. "I remember the time when I had three Hindi serials, but my grandmom used to tell people 'Look at him he is not doing any work. You can hardly see him on TV', which was very embarrassing. That's when I realised that there are people who watch only regional channels and hence I decided to do at least one marathi serial," he says. Right now Swapnil's Marathi serial Adhuri Ek Kahaani, which has been on air for over three years is still going strong. "That too without a generation leap," he laughs.
Swapnil says that with Kadvee... he gets to work with Sachin Pilgaonkar, who has made popular serials like Tu Tu Main Main and Hadh Kar Di. "Working with him is like being at home. The only challenge is to match the comic timing that actors like Supriya and Reema share," he says.
Swapnil enjoys doing comedies. He says, "Comedy is very serious business. People are so stressed that they prefer watching serials that provide them absolute entertainment and comedy shows do just that."
Besides serials, Swapnil keeps himself busy with his play Tea, Coffee or Me? "Doing a play is a different experience altogether. I am happy with the work I am getting. But I may sign one more serial in the future," he says.
