Hey guys finally uploaded. I'm really sorry I'm not being able to reply to your comments and I'm not even being able to be as active on IF. I'm trying to get time, but I honestly am just not getting enough time right now, as soon as my schedule becomes a little less hectic I promise to be more active. Also to all of you who sent me pms for ur FF's pls keep sending me pms I'm sorry I'm not getting to them quickly, but I will respond. AND to those of you who want pms add desigirlTRFFPMs to your buddy list, do not ask me to add you it's hard to remember who to add when I'm switching btwn ID's, and if you are not on desigirlTRFFPMs buddy list you won't get a pm, I only send pms to those on the list. I'm not a perfect girl. My hair doesn't always stay in place and I spill things a lot. I'm pretty clumsy and sometimes I have a broken heart. My friends and I sometimes fight and maybe some days nothing goes right. But when I think about it and take a step back I remember how amazing life truly is and that maybe, just maybe, I like being unperfect'

Chapter 11: As Long as You Love Me/ Wide Awake

Two weeks had gone by and the gang had been extremely busy. They were rehearsing for the Voice Offs along with deciding what to do for the Dance Off Finals. In the past two weeks Taani, Rey, Sid, Nil and Vicky had been rehearsing like crazy while the other gang put choreography to their singing. They had an advantage, they were going to be dancing along with singing, but Taani was still nervous. She couldn't forget that this was the last chance she had to save the music department.

They were all ready for the Voice Offs, and because of the amazing VP sir that they had, they were having the Voice Off in their college, they were hosting it.

Taani was ready, her hair and makeup completely done by Simi as Rini chose her outfit. She went outside the girl's locker room and saw the Amar, Swayam, and even Bharat who was on crutches along with Sharon and Aashi trying to get people to come out and support them.

"This college has been only a host to dance related events for so long." She heard Sharon say, "But now it's time to expand. Come support the musically talented! Who knows maybe you'll end up inspired and wanting to join in." Sharon said.

Taani smiled as she saw Rey join them in the main hall. She saw that the entire college had gathered around and knew that this was her chance. Going towards the table they had set up she saw everyone look at her. "Hey guys I got this." She said as she took the mike from Sharon.

"Hey everyone," Taani spoke into the mike. "I know all of you are thinking why come support the music department when this school is a dance school. But the truth is this school is not just a dance school, no one school can be just for one thing when the students inside of it are so different. The truth is that I have been given an ultimatum by the authorities. If people don't sign up for the music department, it is going to be cut after the Voice Offs. I know there are people who don't sing or even play an instrument, but I know that there are a lot that do, I've seen it walking down the corridors even outside the main campus. But why only just stick to dancing and singing, there are so many other passions out there; writing, drawing, math, even science. If we can have a dance program in this school we can definitely have other programs. So I'm asking you all to come out today to not just support one department, but to make way for a lot of other programs and departments. And if not for that then come out to support your school, show pride in your school." Taani finished watching all the different faces around her.

Rey looked around and saw the inspired look on everyone's face after Taani's speech and he couldn't help but feel proud.

He stepped up and said, "I will support all the programs that will come in St. Louis."

He saw the students agree and soon he heard cheers from the crowd, "We can finally have an art program." He heard one of the girls say.

"Maybe we can have a fashion program." Another girl said.

He looked at Taani and smiled seeing her wide smile. "Okay listen up everyone, as GS I'm asking all of you to get together and write down all the different programs you would like to see in St. Louis, and I promise if we are able to pass this ultimatum we will work our hardest and make your dreams come true."

"Looks like we are going to have a full house today." Sharon said smiling.

It was finally time for the Voice Offs and everyone was running around gathering everything that needed to be finished. The three judges took their seats as the auditorium filled up with students from all the colleges that were participating. Taani looked at the boys and asked, "Ready?"

They all nodded but Nil spoke, "Even if we are nervous Taani we are doing this for you. And we promise you that you will have a music time by the end of this night."

Taani smiled as they watched the group that was on stage. Their guitarist will skilled and the singers were talented, but no one had attempted acapella like they were going to. The next college that was up was St. Teresea and for the first time since Taani had found out about their betrayal, she could care less about them, she wasn't hurt anymore. She saw Rohan and Anya go up and just turned away going to sit down with her gang.

Rey sat next to her and she leaned her head on his shoulder. "They've got nothing on us." Rey said with a grin.

Taani smiled at him and said, "They maybe talented but they don't have what we have, a team that's willing to do anything for us."

She looked around at her gang and felt thankful for having them in her life. Even though her life was far from perfect she knew she had it pretty damn good, she had a brother who would take a bullet for her, friends who would give up their lives for her, and a true love that would live just to love her. She couldn't help but smile looking at them and when she turned to Rey she couldn't help but kiss him on the cheek.

Rey looked surprised and half smiled, "What was that for?" he asked with a smile.

"That was for being you." She said placing another kiss on his cheek.

Rey grinned and said, "Well I guess I should be me more often."

Taani laughed and went to respond before they were called backstage. "We're up." Swayam said with his headset on as TaaRey followed him with Nil, Sid, and Vicky backstage. "Good luck." Swayam said smiling before he left.

Taani looked at her gang of singers and saw nervousness on their faces, "Guys no matter what happens I want you to know that you are the best gang ever, no other friends would go through what you have for me and no matter what we will always be a team."

St. Xavier's college came out and Rohan gave a smug look to Taani. "Beat that." He said.

"I'll beat it, crush it, step on it, and even then it won't be enough to describe how much better we are going to do." Taani said grinning before they got called by the host.

"Please put your hands together for St. Louis College." They heard the host say as they all smiled and went out.

The judges were shocked to see this team and nodded saying, "You may begin."

The five of them took their positions before they started singing.

Rey started, "As long as you love me" as the rest of them sang behind and Taani sang her mashup, "I'm wide awake". Getting their beat they continued singing and dancing to the choreography they learned, shocking not only the judges and contestants but the audience.

Coming to the end of the song Vicky and Nil were giving the beats as Taani, Rey, and Sid sang with a higher pitch, "As long as you love me I'll be your platinum I'll be your silver I'll be your gold."

They hit a silenced note and Vicky picked up, "Falling from cloud nine." Taani, Rey, and Sid gave a soft melody in the background as Nil continued, "As long as you love me." And Vicky finished, "I'm letting go tonight."

The crowd was silent for a moment before cheers erupted. They heard their gang screaming the loudest jumping on their seats. They saw the judges get up in a standing ovation for them and they hugged each other and held hands as they bowed.

The first judge spoke, "Wow! This is the first time, in ten years that I've seen anyone attempt an acapella piece and not just attempt but completely nailed it. Not only did you sing, but you added dance, something that professional acapella singers do. I cannot even begin to describe how amazing it was. Taani when you came last time I wasn't sure that you would be able to form your own team, but you did and you completely shocked me. Coming to the song choice, I absolutely loved that you chose to use the song you sang in your auditions mashed with the new song. It was absolutely brilliant. Fabulous job, even though I'm probably not allowed to say this, I'd have to say again the team that left you probably are feeling so incredibly stupid right now because this was the best performance of the night." He finished smiling as the gang jumped up and hugged each other saying thank you to the judge.

The second judge didn't say anything but he got up again and started clapping, "A standing ovation from all three judges, I don't think I can even say anything else. It was beautiful, and it was something that I'm sure reminded all of us here of why we like singing in the first place, regardless of the music behind it, the actual sound of voices singing, that is what started the Voice Offs and you guys brought that meaning back to it. Well done." He said as the gang thanked him as well.

The last judge looked forward and pursed her lips before saying, "Taani you remind me of myself when I was younger. So strong and independent and seeing these people supporting you today made me very happy. All I want to say is congratulations for getting a team and well done for the performance you did today. You all made me proud of being associated with the music world." She said as the gang thanked her as well.

"Give it up for St. Louis." The host said as the audience started clapping and the gang went backstage.

Once they were out of the stage they all started screaming and cheering, "We were amazing! VP sir is going to have to give us a music department now." Nil said as they waited until the end.

The Voice Offs were over and all the contestants were on stage waiting to hear who had won this year. "In third place, St. Teresea's College," the host said as Taani and the gang hid their snickers seeing the look on Rohan and Anya's faces.

"Second place goes to St. Xavier's." The host said as that college cheered.

"And now for first place," The host spoke as Taani felt her heart beat fast. "St. Louis College," he said making Taani freeze. Her mind went numb as she was vaguely aware of everyone cheering around her, she heard the applause, she heard her college cheering in happiness. It wasn't until she saw Rey in front of her that she smiled, not believing that they had won.

Rey was smiling widely at her and he pulled her into a kiss making the crowd go wild. Pulling back he said, "We did it, your dreams, your goals." He managed to say pulling her into a hug as Taani smiled widely.

Giving the other guys a big hug they all hurried to the host and accepted their trophy's smiling widely. Taani looked at the judges who smiled and nodded agreeing with their decisions. She saw her friends yelling the loudest in the crowd. She couldn't help but laugh and smile as the gang got together and celebrated their victory.

It was night time and they were all at Swayam and Taani's house celebrating their victory.

"Bhai it was not funny!" Taani said grimly sitting on the couch next to Rey as Swayam told them an embarrassing story from their childhood.

Swayam grinned as he continued his story, "So Taani was always sweet, but when we were younger she was my protector because I was too shy to take care of myself." He said telling them about the time Taani had beat a boy for being mean to him.

"God Taani, no wonder you get so riled up during fights." Aashi said laughing accepting the high five Rey was giving her.

"The best part was Taani had punched him so hard he was bleeding and the next day she felt bad for him so she brought him a chocolate as half of an apology." Swayam said to Taani's dismay.

"Half an apology?" Rey asked.

"Yeah after saying she was sorry she said 'but if you ever, I mean ever bother my Bhai again your eye will have a matching bruise.'" Swayam said watching as the gang burst out in laughter.

On cue the doorbell rang and Taani thanked her Krishnaji for the distraction she needed, "It's probably the pizza guy," she said shooting up to open the door as the gang laughed.

Taani opened the door and was shocked to see her dad standing there. "Bhai!" she yelled on instinct as her dad came in.

"Taani I want to talk to you." Her dad said as Taani shook her head unsure of how to handle the situation.

Rey's head shot up when he heard Taani's scared voice and he saw Swayam call the cops. They saw Taani come in and her Dad follow.

"Look Dad you have to leave there is nothing more we have to talk about, you want money and I'm not giving it to you." Taani said to him.

Taani's Dad looked mad and Rey felt something was wrong when he put his hand to his jacket pocket.

"Taani I'm asking you one last time are you going to listen to me or not?" Ram asked angry.

"No!" Taani said back.

"Then you leave me no choice." Ram said pulling out a gun making the girls gasp.

"What are you doing put down the gun." Taani said in clear awareness of what was going on around her.

"If you don't come with me I will shoot every last person in this room." Ram said holding the gun straight at her.

"Okay Ram," Taani said feeling too disgusted to call this man her dad, "I'll walk with you okay just put the gun down." Taani said trying to cool him down.

Before she knew it Ram had grabbed her arm and put the gun to her back pushing her forward, "If and of you move I'll shoot her." Ram said.

Without thinking Rey ran fast and kicked the gun out of Ram's hands and pushed him away from Taani as he pulled Taani behind his back.

"Swayam now!" he said as Swayam grabbed the gun and hit Ram over the head knocking him out.

The cops had showed up at that moment as well. Taani had hidden herself in Rey's arms closing her eyes as she hugged him tightly. In that moment Rey didn't care about what was going on. He didn't care that the police were taking Ram out, he didn't care that Swayam and the other's were given their statements to the police. All he cared about was this girl in his arms and he didn't want to let go of her. He watched everyone leave and he tried to get Taani to loosen her grip but she didn't.

"Hey everything is okay, he can never hurt you again." Rey said rubbing her back.

"I know." Taani said not being able to say anything else. Rey looked at her and he held her hand dragging her to her room.

"It's been a long day and you need some sleep." He said laying her down on her bed.

"I can't," Taani said holding his hand afraid to be alone.

"I'll be right here until you fall asleep." Rey promised holding her hand as he tucked her in. And all night long Rey kept his promise, not leaving until Taani was fast asleep.

When Taani had gotten to school that morning there was a list of clubs and programs that she received from students, and she was excited as hell to present it to VP sir. Before she could get to VP sir's office Rey had grabbed her arm and pulled her into the Fire Exit.

"Rey?" She asked confused.

Rey just looked at her and hugged her, "Are you okay?" he asked her.

Taani nodded into the hug, "How can I not be with you in my life." She responded.

Rey pulled back and smiled at her, "I'm always going to be in your life." Rey promised her.

Taani smiled and then furrowed her eyebrows. "What?" Rey asked her.

"I just realized that the pizza guy never came yesterday." Taani said frowning as Rey burst out in laughter.

"Come on let's go," Rey said shaking his head as Taani was still thinking about the pizza that never came.

"Rey this sucks, I really was in the mood for pizza." Taani said again and whatever amount of control Rey had on his laughter was let out as he started laughing again.

"Okay my crazy girlfriend, I promise we'll get pizza today." Rey said.

"Promise," Taani asked him excited for her pizza.

"Promise." Rey said chuckling as they both left.

Taani had to go to VP sir's office so she went to his office while Rey joined the gang. Taani knocked on the door and VP let her in.

"Sir here is a list of all the activities that students want to do." Taani said handing him the list.

VP sir took and it and said, "Thanks, by the end of the week we should have all the programs ready. Good work Taani." VP sir said excusing her from his office. Taani met up with Aashi and as they were walking to their next class their good friend and lab partner ran upto Taani, "Oh my gosh Taani are you okay?" She asked worried.

"Yeah Akansha, why what happened?" Taani asked taken aback by this reaction.

"I heard what happened last night, are you okay? None of you are hurt right?" she asked worried again.

"How did you know?" Taani asked wondering how she found out.

"Taani remember my uncle is a cop, he's the one who is making the case against your dad so your dad can't hurt you again." Akansha said.

"Oh," Taani said surprised when Akansha pulled her into a hug. She knew that Akansha could understand what she was going through, Akansha's parents were alcohol abusers and once they got so out of hand that they almost killed Akansha, that was when her uncle stepped in and took care of her.

"I'm so glad you're alright." She said.

Taani smiled and laughed pulling away, "We're all fine, now you tell me what's up?" Taani asked as Aashi smiled at her.

"Well, after yesterday I realized that you were looking for singers and I wanted to join in." she said quickly.

"That's great!" Taani said smiling, "But if you wanted to you could have just joined us from the beginning." She said shaking her head at her lab partner.

"I tried, but Anya had said that you weren't looking for anyone else so I decided to let it go." Akansha said.

"Uss Anya ki bache," Aashi said. "She was lying."

"Never mind that, Akansha you should come to the auditions, after yesterday we've gotten a lot of people who want to join that say that the can sing and play an instrument, you should come to auditions, they are today at two." Taani said.

"Sure thing Taani, now let's go to lab before Professor cuts of our heads and decides to dissect our eyes instead." Akansha pulling Aashi and Taani to class.
