Hi everyone,
This is my first post in IF and also my first attempt at any piece of fictional writing. I have mostly been used to writing articles and ghost-writing blog posts. I am trying to judge if I can make it as a writer of fiction.
I have been a silent reader of this forum for a while now. I make it a point to read almost all the posts in here. I really love this show for acquainting me with these two wonderful people: Indira and Rishi. I hope you guys enjoy reading this OS. Please leave your feedback in the comments so that I can improve my writing. Suggestions and criticism are more than welcome. Please feel free. Thanks.

Indira awoke with a start. She opened her eyes to find the sun peeping in and Rishi next to her. "It was only a dream, thank God" she thought. She turned to look at Rishi who was fast asleep, and was immediately calmed by the peace on his sleeping face. She wondered how long it had been since she had some semblance of peace in her life. Her thoughts wandered to times past. So much had happened! She did not even remember some of it. And some memories seemed so distant, it was almost as though they were from another time.
She snapped back into the present and looked at Rishi. God...she could watch his sleeping face for hours. She loved him so much! All the times they had spent together and apart had proved one thing to her. That the single biggest truth was that they were made for one another and that nothing and no one could change that. There was an invisible hand guarding them and an invisible force at work that kept them together despite all odds.
Indira was just saying a silent thank you to the Almighty, when Rishi, eyes closed and in a half-asleep state, reached out to her side of the bed to make sure she was there. His hand touched her on her shoulder and from there, progressed to her face. He caressed her cheek gently and slowly opened one eye. Only to see her looking at him...the merest hint of a smile playing on her lips. This sight woke him up completely.
"Don't look at me like that, Shrimatiji. It does things to me." Rishi turned towards her and gave her his trademark toothy smile. The one she loved. His voice was still gravelly with early morning sleepiness and it made him sound extremely sexy. Unaware that his Shrimatiji's thoughts were similarly engaged, Rishi continued, "It also makes me want to do things to you."
Indira smiled at him, gently tugged his ear, and started getting out of bed. Rishi, without a word, pulled her close and pinned her down with his body. After taking in the sight of her lovely face, lips, and the surprise in her eyes, he began with the lightest brush of his lips on her forehead.
Indira, who began with completely enjoying the feeling of being in his arms, gradually moved into a state of confusion. She was actually quite confused about whether she wanted to go or stay. Her mind moved on to what time it might be, whether the children would be awake, what to cook for breakfast...and finally, OMG!!!
"Today is Thursday, Rishi!! The day of the morning power cut!! I need to fill water and finish housework before 11 o'clock. Get off me and let me go."
As she was saying these things, Rishi's expressions rapidly changed from surprise to exasperation to befuddlement. Only his Shrimatiji was capable of thinking of power cuts when in bed. He stared at her for a long moment wondering what to do with his beloved wife, even as she was wriggling beneath him, expecting him to release her. Finally, he gave her a long, sound kiss on her mouth. Indira who initially wriggled more intensely, slowly gave up her fight and put her arms around his neck savouring the moment.
When they parted, he looked at her and said in a voice heavy with emotion, "Shrimatiji...I..."
Indira waited for his next words in eager anticipation.
"I..." Kiss on left cheek. "I..." Kiss on right cheek. Thoroughly aroused, Indira moved her hands to Rishi's shoulders and chest. "Kya?" she asked.
"Shrimatiji...I...feel like having halwa-puri for breakfast" said Rishi in the same thick-with-emotion voice before breaking into laughter and rolling off Indira.
By the time he finished a bath and descended for his requested breakfast, he had still not recovered from the pillow attack launched on him by the woman he loved so much.
