Yes, of course,my dear, he should instead have said, Yes, Mishti, here is your very own baby.Would you like to hug it and kiss it? And encouraged her to have another hysterical crying jag, laying claim to the baby after having given it away of her own sweet will, and saddled him with the job of switching them. Aap isme mera saath denge na Onir? Weeping all over him, grabbing his hands and clinging to them, and the poor fool is as putty in the hands of his Mishti.

He is, as you note, not sane, but as Shakespeare said long ago, a man in love is by definition not sane. Onir is a besotted idiot for ever having got involved with this demolition machine of a woman, who does nothing but damage the men unfortunate enough to fall in love with her. First it was Arjun, now it is Onir. Both of them should rue the day they ever set eyes on her, but of course neither will do so. Instead, both will follow her around like tame poodles, and pander to every insane demand of hers, whatever the cost to themselves.

As to why he is sending Purvi back so soon, it is obviously because if she keeps on having hysterical fits like the one she had in front of the incubator room, the fat will soon be in the fire as far as her great secret is concerned. Secondly, it would obviously be better for her state of mind to be away from the baby. He was planning to accompany her at first, but then there was the breathing problem for the baby. As for checking her, we do not know that he has not done that, and then again, she can get any further treatment needed in Mumbai.

You did not see any burst of emotions in Onir's scenes because he underplays his emotions beautifully, and uses his eyes far more than his voice. The problem in Indian TV is that high pitched hysterical scenes are preferred to subtle emoting, and are taken to be the hallmark of great acting. His scenes with Purvi this week were all splendid, and on both sides, but in very different ways. And when he looks back at the baby crib in Ovi's room after leaving Purvi's baby there, one can see the sadness at having to give up the baby he was so looking forward to having in his life. You just have to watch more carefully, as these are nuances, and not in your face gestures. I loved his acting style, and I was pleased that so many others seem to share my opinion.

I am afraid I cannot understand your 'Has anyone noticed how lightly Onir is taking the situation?". Taking it lightly? He is worried sick, about his Mishti, about how to get her over her obsession with the baby she gave away despite his objections, how to make sure the baby is safe and comes out of the incubator, and so on and on. It is just that he does not go about weeping and wailing about them; that is what is called a strong, self-controlled and disciplined personality. As you have noted yourself, Onir is the only strong and sane person in this whole situation.

And if, as someone speculated, Purvi's uncontrolled hysteria when the baby has breathing problems is a precusor to her becoming emotionally and mentally unstable, Onir's plate will not just be full, it will be overflowing. Perhaps this is what the CVs were hinting at in that Manav-Onir conversation, where Manav made Onir promise that woh kabhi bhi Purvi ka saath nahin chhodega. That sounded strange to me, but this idea might explain it. Let us see.

Why on earth should he turn negative? Surely you do not want him to do so? Can we not have an honest, caring and decent character around without wanting him to sprout horns like Satan? Onir is like another Ekta Kapoor favourite, Rajat Kapur in Ekta's BALH, a perfect gentleman, and that is the way he will stay.

Shyamala B.Cowsik

Hi Shyamala
I agree with you regarding Onir's truly great acting in the last few episodes. I too believe that he is worried about his Mishti and wants to get her away from the babay so that she does not inadvertently with her insane conduct let the truth out.
However, I think he is staying behind at the hospital as he is suspicious of Mittal. He had overheard Mittal and the doctor speaking and had at that moment decided that he must find out what is going on. I don't think he bought Mittal's story that he was at the hospital because Punni had told him about the accident. Up to the point when he over heard Mittal and the other doctor, he was intent on taking Purvi to Mumbai as he had said to Manav that he and Purvi were shifitng to Mumbai when he had asked the nurse to prepare the disharge papers.

And Purvi is hardly going to complain about the doctored report, which, incodentally, is actually prepared by that Dr.Braganza, as she states herself.

And I do not see what doctoring the report has to do with Onir turning negative - towards whom? Purvi? But he gets that done only to save Purvi!

Shyamala B.Cowsik

At this stage Onir is not turning negative. He is infact being shown pretty consistently as doing good mostly for society but now doing wrong for Purvi's sake. Rather than turning negative I think he is being turned into putty in Purvi's hand, much like Arjun was. Soon we will stop liking Onir because of his inability to stand up to Purvi's insane demands rather tahn because he is negative.

My answer was for the topic maker who said Onir is the sane one but obviousaly he is not because he is in love with Purvi, and he fulfilled her demand. The only difference is here that now he will have to see Purvi suffer and lie all her life.

Great post 👍🏼 Even I feel the same. During the baby switching time, he doesn't seem to care much. Also, in yesterday's episode when purvi got hyper seeing the baby can't breath, did you notice what onir said? He said, mishti YOUR baby is dead. Though we know it's Arjun's baby and onir is very much aware of this fact, still he considered the baby of his own (at least that's what he says). Then in front of everyone he should have said OUR baby is no more, but he said YOUR baby. This dialogue caught my attention 🤔

I think he said that because she was screaming meri beti, meri beti - not hamari beti - and his statement was a direct counter to that, to jerk her out of this veham of maternal possessiveness.

There is of course a thriving cottage industry in the forum these days trying hard to locate the smallest sign that Onir is 'turning negative', whatever that means, and it is all good fun to watch😉. It also shows a curious reluctance among the participants in this game to accept that a person can be genuinely good, especially when it does not suit them that he be so. The preferred formulation is 'Oh, he is too good to be true!" If Mahatma Gandhi were suddenly to land among us once more, I am sure he would be described in identical terms!

This apart, none of us should be under the misapprehension that any of this painstaking hairsplitting gets us anywhere, seeing that the CVs carry on as they please, and what happens to any given character is what Ekta Kapoor wants, and not what any of us here beg, plead or holler for!

So the best thing to do is to possess one's soul in patience and just watch. I intend to practice this sound principle with immediate effect, but do have fun all of you!

No, Sakhile, your theory would be plausible, but the timing you are banking on is not the right one.

Onir sees Mittal's back in that doctor's room; he cannot hear the conversation, for though it is made (deliberately) to look as if only the venetian blind is down, in fact the glass window is also closed, as would be normal in any hospital - why would they keep a window on the main corridor open in a doctor's room? He guesses that it is Mittal, and he goes in to greet him. I do think he had any suspicions about Mittal after he exposed the Dean of the KV Hospital (in a splendidly amateurish scene worthy of the best of Balaji!). for when he talks about it later to Purvi, he stresses how bad Mittal must be feeling about the disgrace for the hospital due to this scandal.

Moreover, the meeting with Mittal was long before Friday's episode, which is when Onir has that conversation with Manav. But you are quite right on the main point; because he decides to stay on and make sure the baby is ok, he will stumble on this racket and expose it. Then Mittal will hit back at Onir in some way. Let us see which way.

well ovi also said how is my baby not said how is our ( arjun and my ) baby , all the time no need to say that it is our our our as it is already their (onir purvi ) and most importantly purvi screamed by saying my baby , my baby , my baby so i think he immadiately said your baby dead only for bringing back purvis common sense, nothing else . its not at all intentional . and even when purvi said that my baby now with her biological father then onir said you are right , our baby will bring lots of happiness in arjun ovis life so onir always thinks that it is their baby , no need to think it is their baby already which they gave up for unnecessary reason .

and onir 1st checked baby then he came back outside for controlling his Mishti . this proved he is father of this childs , unfortunately lost .

Onir is the only sane one? Lol... I seriously think he has fallen madly in love with 'mishti' which has rendered him completly unable to make a sane decision! He is a doctor for god sakes! Hw could he support purvi in this baby swapping thing? He is an experienced doctor who must have done like a hundredz of deliveries. He knows d mental state of a women who has just given birth! Most importantly hw could he say 'tumne jo yeh faisla liya hai woh bilkul sahi hai' to purvi? Really?? I gt so mad @ that statement! In wot universe is wot purvi has done correct??? And i was also astounded by the ease that he said 'hummara baccha maar chuka hai' to purvi!
Onir has that much sense that if purvi says close to the baby then she might get hysterical! Where was his brain wen purvi asked him to swap d babies? Didnt he grap the gravity of the situation? The long term effects to this? Ovi is purviz sister. Itz obvious that purvi is going to run into her and her baby at some point or the other. What did onir want? That purvi should cut off all her ties with her family in the pretext of 'tumhe humare bacche ko bhulna hogga'. Dr onir is either way too dumb to grap the gravity of this baby donation situation or way too smart as in he might have seen this as a golden chance to get rid of arjunz baby and have 'misthi' all for himself! I really hope that Arjun finds about the truth about the baby and sue Onir and Purvi so very hard! Both of them should land up in jail for d idoitic things they are doing!
As for as acting goes, i neither find onir interesting nor engaging. He is too boring, bland and one dimensional. And neither does he have any out of the world chemistry with purvi. And i have given up watching PR bcause of all d footage he is getting.
