one month later'.
As soon as everyone came back from the cruise, most of the family had to leave. Everyone left except for Vanshika as Veera's treatment was going to start. Viren and Jeevika also had to start reporting back to work now, so she wanted to make sure someone was there with Veera.
virat - "Veera, lets go. We don't want to get late"
veera - "Virat bhaiya where is bhai though? I won't go without him"
virat - "Veera he's stuck at court. He messaged me and told me he will come straight to the hospital, please"
veera - "But'"
vanshika - "Veera don't worry. You think your brother won't come?"
Veera was really scared and the only guy to make her feel better was her brother. She needed him by her side or she wouldn't be able to go through all that pain.
virat - "Veera come on lets go. Bhabhi is waiting also now in the hospital"
Veera just quietly took took her sweater and walked out of the house. She sat in the car waiting for her mother and brother to come as well. Virat drove to the hospital, but couldn't stop from looking at how worried she was. As soon as they got to the hospital, Veera's body starting shaking even more of nervousness. Virat had an extra jacket for her in the trunk and he covered her up. The three of them walked in and told the nurse to page Jeevika.
veera - "Ma where is bhai?"
vanshika - "He'll be here soon. Just relax"
virat - "Let's go, theres an empty room for you"
veera - "I'm scared"
virat - "Veera just relax. You are taking too much tension. You need to be brave and positive, only then will this work. okay?"
Veera just nodded yes. They walked inside a huge private room. There lay a huge bed in the center with a bathroom on the side and two big sofas. Veera was mentally saying hi to her new room for the next few weeks maybe even months. The three of them waited for someone to come and pretty soon the nurse did. She handed Veera some clothes to change in and told her that the doctor is going to come in some time. As the nurse was talking Jeevika walked in. She went towards Virat and quietly asked him what was happening.
virat - "Doctor will come soon. Do you know where bhai is?"
j - "Nope haven't talked to him since morning. Why isn't he here yet?"
virat - "God knows. She's been freaking out the whole time. She wasn't even willing to come here without him"
j - "Let me go call him"
Jeevika went to the side and tried calling Viren but he wasn't picking up the phone. By the time she cut it the nurse had left the room.
veera - "Where's bhai? Tell me he's coming soon?"
j - "He didn't pick up, but don't worry he will be here okay"
Veera started tearing up. She felt alone even though she had three other people there with her. Jeevika went and sat on the bed with her.
j - "Don't worry, you know he would never be late on purpose right. Especially when it comes to you. For me he always comes late, got to teach him a lesson" she said trying to get her mood back up.
Someone knocked on the door and they all thought it was Viren, but sadly enough it was the doctor.
dr - "Hi everyone. How are you doing Veera?"
veera - "Fine, thank you"
dr. - "Okay well I think the nurse has told you everything regarding the procedure today. Few more things I'd like to inform you. Today we are going to be doing a lot of tests. This will happen around once a week where we will see the progress of your body. Saying that you are most likely going to have to stay overnight today. Well at least 4 days a week depending on how your body starts reacting. I'm going to be frank with you because you need to be prepared for the worst but it may be likely that you won't be able to go home at all. Just because your body is not strong enough. It will take time for you to adapt and get used to everything. But don't worry we have the best nurses for you, who will be taking very good care of you. There's no need to worry, we're going to try to make this as pain-free as possible"
Veera didn't even know when she started crying. There were drops falling from her big grey eyes making her eyelashes wet. She was scared, but more than scared she was crying because she needed her brother. Jeevika wiped her tears and then told her to go change in the bathroom. Veera went inside the bathroom.
dr - "She seems very freaked out right now"
j - "She's waiting for my husband to come. She's just a little scared when he's not here with her"
dr. - "It's understandable"
Just then someone knocked on the door and opened it. It was Viren peeking in.
viren - "Hi"
j - "You're dead"
viren - "Is she mad"
j - "Scared more than mad"
dr - "I will be back with the nurse and we will start everything"
viren - "Okay, thank you"
The doctor smiled and left the room.
virat - "Bhai where were you? She's been asking for like two hours"
viren - "Sorry, I got stuck"
vanshika - "Leave it now. Just pacify her somehow now Viren. She's really really scared"
viren - "Don't worry I will"
virat - "Ma we have to go fill some paperwork"
vanshika - "Okay let's go"
jeevika - "I'll come with you guys also"
The three of them left and Viren waited on the sofa for Veera to come out. When Veera came out she didn't see anyone. She started shaking even more.
veera - "Everyone left me, and bhai is still not here. This is such a bad idea" she said to herself.
viren - "Oh hello I've been waiting here for like 3 hours madam" he said sarcastically
Veera turned around and saw her brother standing up. She was giving him the "I am mad/scared/why the hell are you late" look.
viren - "Sorry Veera, I got a little caught up. I promise now I'm free for the rest of the day"
veera - "You promise you won't leave me"
viren - "I promise" he said giving her a side hug.
Then the nurse walked in with a wheel chair for Veera.
nurse - "We have to take you for your tests"
viren - "Can I come along?" he said looking at Veera. He knew she was going to be scared all alone. Even though she was 18, she really was the angel of her brothers life.
nurse - "Yeah, the doctor said you can come along. Only one person though"
Viren walked Veera over to the wheelchair and made her sit down. She started shivering even more. The nurse picked up her blanket and wrapped it around her.
nurse - "I think you're getting a fever. Let's get the tests done fast so you can lay down"
The nurse strolled Veera through the hallways with Viren walking by her side. Looking at all those sick people made Veera shiver even more. Everytime Veera was super nervous about something she would unknowingly start getting a fever like she was now. Even when she was coming to USA and met Jeevika on the plane, she had gotten a fever. The nurse took her snide this small room that had a bunch of machines all over the place. The nurse first took a few blood samples of Veera and then checked her blood pressure. She even checked her temperature which was rising quiet quickly. She then helped Veera lay on the bed as she needed to take a few scans of her body. Viren and the nurse had to go to the back room where they could see Veera. After about 20 minutes they started going back to the room where everyone was waiting. The nurse helped Veera up on top of the bed and got her extra blankets.
nurse - "We weren't able to do all the tests as her temperature is rising. I will inform the doctor and she will give further instruction"
j - "Okay thank you"
The nurse left and everyone just watched over Veera who was already exhausted. For then physical exhaustion it was mentally exhausting for her. Just thinking about everything made her so overwhelmed and nothing made it feel better. The doctor came and saw Veera asleep so she called everyone outside into her cabin. Viren, Virat, Vanshika, and Jeevika all went with the doctor to her cabin.
doctor - "So theres some good news and bad news. The good news is that Veera's cancer cells have stopped growing. This however doesn't mean that she doesn't have cancer. It's just that the medicines have stopped them from spreading and now we need to remove the cancer cells from her body. The bad news is that she is very overwhelmed and nervous which is why I think she has a fever now. I can't emphasize this enough, but it is crucial that she starts getting stronger especially mentally otherwise she won't be able to handle this all. She has good chances of defeating this cancer, but you know what I mean. So now we will keep her here tonight and start her treatment early tomorrow morning. Hopefully the fever will not be there anymore"
viren - "Do you think we can take her home?"
doctor - "You can, but its better if she stays here so we can provide her with better care. The nurses will be able to stabilize the fever faster than if she was at home"
viren - "Okay. That sounds fine then"
The four of them finished talking and left the cabin.
j - "Viren if you had come a little earlier, this probably wouldn't have happened. But forget it, now lets just get her happy again"
viren - "I know, I should have rescheduled my work for today. Let's go back and see her"
They started walking towards Veera's room and they saw someone sitting inside.
vanshika - "Is that Armaan?"
viren - "What is he doing here?"
They were still standing outside the room and observing the two.
vanshika - "Viren, let her be for sometime. Virat lets go get some coffee and tea"
Vanshiks and Virat went to the cafeteria while Viren and Jeevika stood there.
viren - "Why are we waiting out here?"
j - "Viren leave them alone for sometime"
viren - "Hello thats my sister in there"
j - "No shit Viren Vadhera 😛 "
viren - "I'm going in, you stay here if you want to" 😡
