I've been in the habit of writing MEIEJ focussing more so on Madhu๐ณ, but ever since this damn twist unfolded, have found myself focussing on RK as part of the en masse detective drive to see an end to the mystery that's turned MEIEJ into a suspense thriller instead.๐๐ณ๐
'RK is the hero, and Madhu is an angel.'๐ณ We are getting 'an epic love story'.๐ So say MEIEJ's powers-that-be.๐
One week more to go, with the hopeful relief of a Valentine's Day sequence somewhere in that duration to give a measure of relief.๐ณ๐
Veering back from the digression.
Bittuji resigned, making clear that this entire situation has blindsided him as much as the viewers.๐
There goes my hope of a quick end to the mystery of the CVs contradictory statements vis-a-vis this track.๐คข
Madhu and Bittuji were the only characters who could tell (at least far more than anyone else) when RK was playing, and they have both been knocked for a loop.
Madhu's belief was shattered with precision.๐ญ
And Bittuji knows that the man he has been willing to kill for is presenting a delusion, but he is befuddled on the projected scope of RK's act.๐
He knows his Chief loves Madhu, and knows his Chief is lying about it.๐
But he - like us - has no idea for sure (courtesy the CVs) whether RK is only lying to everyone else or to himself as well.๐
So now we are left with Radha and the other three Bhatias in RK's proximity.
Pretty much guaranteeing the suspense can last interminably.๐ก
RK's depth of love for Radha is nowhere near as desperation-inducing as his love for Madhu, he has less respect for his mother than he does for Padmini, and he trusts Radha not even a fraction as much as he trusts Bittuji.
Radha is his mother, and the tie of blood and fondness runs deep for him.
But considering that his trust, love and respect for her are *all* less than he feels for others, she seems highly unlikely (would be very glad to be wrong here) to reach through to him and get any kind of result.
When RK struck out at Bittuji, was it a continuation of the goad "Go to Madhu and support her"? Or did he also fear that Bittuji would erode his own defences?๐
Regardless, Bittuji leaving will nevertheless always be an available support to RK.๐
And he knows RK's family. Radha's good intentions failing at translating steadfastly into action in the long haul (Exhibit A:- Kukku Bhatia still endured), Dipali's treachery, Kukku's malice, and Sikki's being generally harmless except when goaded or at his father's or wife's behest.
RK's hiring (genuinely or just purportedly) Sikki may or may not be a jibe to Bittuji about his being replaced by an incompetent.
I find myself least worried by Padmini's curse patterned on 'The Little Prince'.
If she hadn't said a word, it had all been happening with RK for years anyway except when Madhu was with him.๐ณ
But since Padmini spelled that curse out as if RK were a well-adjusted, soundly sleeping, cheerful, trusting, confident-of-being-loved person, it's become like a spectral sword that does no additional harm but dangles distractingly over every development.๐
This curse seems specifically there to tie Padmini in at the point of future disaster so that instead of merely being anguished and supportive, she'll have to feel guilty as well.
Hindi serials seem to very impartially relish the drama effect of the curse being cast at an apparently deserving individual as much as later the curse-giver's misery at the curse bearing fruition in very drastically changed circumstances.
RK's behaviour in general was reasonable at the set, gracious to the new costar, firm but not harsh to the others.๐
Yesterday, I complained that if only this track were a bit boring.๐
The track isn't even remotely boring even now, but a large part of today's ep was *very* boring thanks to Dipali's hugely prolonged scene.๐ฅฑ
Managed to get through that one by focussing on Madhu's reactions, and the point at which she retaliated.๐ณ๐
*Does* Madhu know of Dipali's origins, or has that somehow been slipped past her? Don't think anyone has ever told her.๐
The precap holds a myriad possibilities for how much or little action RK may take, and the effect of Madhu's superb dignified grace in answering the press.๐๐ณ
But the moment that seemed to me the *most* significant in the entire damn ep - given the stifling clouds of suspense - was RK's expression as he looked at the swing and had the flashback of his associated happy memory with Madhu.๐ณ๐
His expression did *not* seem to be of not knowing his depth of feeling or of not wanting to admit it to himself.
Rather, he seemed to be at ease with admitting to himself what that memory and the emotions it invoked meant to him.
He seemed - when not making a presentation act to others - to be a man in love who knew he was in love and valued that love.๐๐ณ
The CVs have assured us that there is a reason for this estrangement.๐
If that reason turns out to be ego and insecurity - and the massacre of private moments in several months' worth of episodes -, then I can speak for no one else's reaction, but I'll be swallowing it because this couple's charisma and chemistry is worth it to me.๐ณ
But it would be a disappointment because the damage that has been done would feel incommensurate with the reason.
So, *really* hoping that the CVs turn in as good a result this time as almost always, and that we may look back on this track as having been - storywise - worth the emotional upset and upheaval.๐
