CHAPTER 21: WHAT A PRICE TO PAY FOR FREEDOM
Manyata made her mind. She would go forward with her plan. If it was a success, then it would be her ticket to freedom or it may end in her death. Anyway she was willing to take the big risk.
First she needed to gain the confidence of uday. She was sure he had a soft corner for her in his mind or she would have been dead by now. She needed to exploit that weakness to her benefit. But she feared that once since she had given her mind completely to him, would she repeat it again? She could never help herself from falling to his charms. His eyes alone stirred a deep ocean of feelings inside her. If she never knew that he was Mr. Shark maybe she would have loved him
When she heard about his past yesterday, she knew it was true, every line, every word showed his sorrow and his anguish. But it was not right for him to take law into his hands, then why there were courts and police departments in the country. Whatever his reasons maybe it did not make him innocent in the eyes of law. All citizens were equal in the eyes of law. And that law called upon for his punishment
Manyata went and washed her face, the wound on her head was still paining. She needed strength, both mental and physical to carry out her plans. She settled down on the table and ate the food kept over there. She ate it fully as she was really hungry.
All she had to do was to wait for uday to return. She switched on the TV and browsed through the channels, the news channels did celebrate her kidnapping. They were showing a raid in a godown. Then she spotted jaggat and behind him was uday. Jaggat told the reporters that the search for manyata has been intensified and she would be found pretty soon. "Ask the man next to you, he will tell you where manyata is "thought manyata.The look on uday's face was terrible. He looked like a man in terrible pain. What an actor he is, thought manyata.
There were no other interesting programs to watch and soon manyata drifted off to sleep.
It seemed many hours since she had slept. The house was as usual silent. Uday did not return home till now.
Where did he go? Then she heard the door of her room opening. Manyata soon became alert
Uday entered the room carrying her supper
M: uday i…….
Uday did not listen to manyata. He was still irritated by her earlier behavior. He placed the supper on the table, took the empty plates and left the room without glancing back at manyata. Manyata felt bad because of his behavior. But she would try again till she succeeded

It was a tiring day for uday, he did not want manyata to shower all her accusations on him. He had enough of it, so he decided that it would be best if he ignored her. Uday felt if he again continued to entertain her tantrums she would again try to hurt herself like what she did today.
Uday really loved her, he finally admitted it to himself. All these days he never wanted to agree about it.
"Love made one weak" was what he thought of love. But now he felt "love made one complete. It made the mind pure. It was an unselfish feeling. Once you are in love then the whole world appears colorful. You would be able to listen to birds chirping, the sound of wind caressing the leaves, the beautiful butterflies and all the nature's wonders.
Love was the language of the soul and he had found it. it was the most melodious music, the sweetest honey, the whitest cotton, the strongest steel, the coolest breeze, the softest pillow, the loveliest flower, the star lit night sky, the cloudless blue sky, the pure ocean. It was tender like a mother's love. It was something so indefinable but something that one experienced fully. Falling in love was one of the greatest gift of god to mankind
It was not a physical feeling. It was something much more than that. It was as if the whole world worked to make 2 souls fall in love
He was a killer, a predator. And see the play of the fates. They made him fall for his prey. The lady whom he wanted to enjoy once was now the person he wanted to make his better half, his wife
Yes, he wanted to marry manyata. She was the first women whom he felt like this. She was innocent like a lamp when she was happy and ferocious like a lion when provocated. It was not her physical beauty that drew him to her but it was her mind, cute and childish. He could feel him to be a human in her presence
Udayveer was sure manyata never ever felt about him the way he felt. If only it was so, he wished
But her status, she was a princess and he was a common man, will the society accept it? Will she accept it?
Many unanswered questions continued to haunt uday. He thought a lot about it and soon fell into the hands of dreamless sleep

Uday woke up late the next day. He phoned jaggat that he won't be accompanying him today as he was not well. Actually his mind was disturbed beyond repair. He prepared manyata's breakfast and went down to see her.
Manyata was also waiting to see uday. She needed a chance to talk to him today itself. As she heard the door opening she composed herself. Uday entered the room and placed her breakfast on the table, without once glancing at her
M: uday
Uday ignored her
Manyata went forward and caught his hands and told him.
M: uday, please, I want to talk to you something
M: please uday
U: I don't have time to listen to your accusations. Make it fast manyata
M: uday iam sorry
WHAT!!! Thought uday. God!! Now seriously he was dreaming. He was sure of it.
Manyata and sorry was like pickle and halwa ( a sweet).
Manyata continued
M: uday I know my behavior towards you for the past few days was really bad I really feel sorry about it. I never understood the reason why you became like this. But now I know, circumstances made you that way. Anyone In your situation would have done the same thing. I don't know how long my life will last so I want to ask your forgiveness before all this ends. I am sorry uday
It is your work and you got paid for it, so you have to do it uday. Kill me and finish your work. I know your mind is disturbed about that fact. But I will never ever be angry with you uday. You were the first person whom I gave my heart to and let you be the last person in my heart till my last breath. I only ask for one final wish, I wish to breathe some fresh air, see the blue sky, and hear the birds chirp before I get killed. I will only be happy that you are ending my life.
The words 'kill' die' 'heart' all brought uday back to his yesterday's thoughts. His princess loved him the way he loved her. She finally accepted the truth about him. he felt so happy, he went and removed the iron chain from manyata's leg and in one go took her in his hands. There was a genuine smile on her face
U: princess I love you. I love you more than my life.
Manyata encircled her hand around his neck and looked into his chocolate color eyes and said
M: I love you too uday. You are my life.
He carried her up and took her outside and placed her down. She was so overjoyed like a small girl who had just discovered the joy of life. She ran out and drenched herself in sunlight. Uday watched her with a smile on his lips. A beautiful family scene played before his eyes. Manyata and uday and their kids, laughing and playing, enjoying life to the fullest.
Manyata soon returned inside she insisted on preparing lunch. Uday helped her in the kitchen and they together prepared biriyani and chilli chicken. Soon they sat down to have their lunch. Both send a lot of time talking their heart out, the more manyata knew about uday and his past the less weak her resolve of fighting uday became. Time flew like anything. In no time it was late evening
M: so, that what you loved to do. Uday I want to see your family. Is there any photo of them
U: yes, there is one in my room. I will take you there
Uday led manyata to his room. It was a huge room. There was a king size bed at the centre. There was a posh sofa set on one side and on the other was a huge wardrobe. In the centre oh the right wall was a big photo. It was uday and his baba, ma and chotti, all smiling happily. There was a twinkle in uday's eyes In the photo. The real uday's eyes moistened and his sound broke
U: that is my family.no. that was my family, now i am an orphan. There is no one to love me or care for me. Tears of sorrow formed in uday's eyes. Manyata's heart broke. Her eyes became teary.she cupped uday's face and kissed his forehead and said
M: no, uday. You are not alone. I am there with you. Uday please don't cry na
Uday hugged her tightly and manyata too hugged him back. Uday cried his heart out to manyata, and manyata allowed him to cry, to give him relief from the long suppressed feelings he hid in his heart. They stood there like that for god knows how long
Manyta soon became aware of their position. Their bodies were already doing their mischief even without their knowledge. Passion started steering their emotions. Manyata freed herself from uday and started to move to the door
He pulled her close to him, their chest colliding. He saw his passion reflected in her eyes too. He needed the feeling of being cared and manyata was the only person capable of making him feel secure. It was never a physical need but an emotional one. His hands were soon caressing her waist. She blushed
Manyata's brain cried to her to stop it at that moment, but her heart craved to be loved, it was an intense battle between her heart and her brain. Ultimately her heart won, her unknown love for uday won. He pulled her for a kiss. He kissed her softly on her forehead, her eyes her cheeks, her chin and finally her lips. She wanted that kiss. She looked at his face anticipating the kiss. Uday obliged her and soon the kiss turned intense, it was searing heat emitting from their bodies. Both of them wanted to be loved and to be cared
That night they became one. It was the most beautiful night in their life. Even the nature wanted their union. It was love that they shared that night
Their clothes lay scattered on the floor. Both of them held each other tightly. Even in their sleep the sign of satisfaction could be seen on their face. The sign of their pure love visible on their faces

Manyata woke up early in the morning. She found herself in the hands of uday.the sheet covered then. She remembered last night and blushed. It was simply heavenly,
Uday sensed manyata woke up
Uday kissed manyata on her forehead. She closed her eyes in response to the kiss
He got up and put his pygamas
"Thank you manyata for the wonderful night. I finally found my soul mate, my better half. You know my past, present and future well. There is nothing hidden from you in my life so"
He knelled down, took a ring from his pocket, it was heart shaped blue diamond surrounded by small diamonds encrusted in gold and asked her
"will you MARRY me manyata, will you become mrs udayveer singh?"
