"Are you kidding me?" I walked into a private room with my father enjoying the company of a woman half his age. "Has this man ever done anything truthful in his entire existence". I proceeded to walk away and Rishabh blocked my path.

"I do not care. You better have a valid excuse for my husband to defer his Harvard exam", I emphasized the syllables of husband and Harvard so my message would be loud and clear.

"You wouldn't come otherwise. I need your help".

His expression changed to that of immense fear. I recalled my faint memories of his con tricks and quickly exhausted all common tricks. Could it be that he was being sincere?

"I have people, trying to take over my business. They are planning to go public so I lose my authority. I know corporate law is not your goal but, my daughter will be the only one truly by my side. Help me".

I sensed sheer desperation in his eyes and a racing heart beat on his monitor. My only source of guidance, fortunately or unfortunately, was RK. I prayed to the Almighty to shower some wisdom of human nature upon his misguided soul and pulled Rishabh to a corner.

"Give me one good reason why I should".

"For one, he could be conning us".

"Stupid question", he interrupted seeing his argument go downhill. "Think about his intentions. He does not want your money or fame. He is heterosexual so, he does not want me. What do you got to lose?"

"I only rushed here to nurse his alcohol rotten pipeline of a body back to health".

"Being married to a smartass is not without its perks either". I kissed him on the mouth and he made a noise indicating pleasure. The other presence in the room was growing uncomfortable and flinched until he made his annoyance known.

"I do not appreciate PDA from my own daughter".

"This is payback for not handling my rebellious teenage years. There are plenty more things I do that will make you regret ever finding me".

"He is a good guy". I was fascinated by Malik's response. I would have tested the limits of his patience if only a certain someone had complied. I kissed Rishabh again; this time with force and aggression. He quickly pulled me away like he had secretly joined forces with my father.

"I feel used and exploited. Your daughter, Mr. Malik, objectifies me", RK utilized his ability to make a small false blush cover his cheeks.

The men burst into laughter as I tried digging my way out of the pit I landed myself in. Having given up, I joined in.
