- Vidya (Divyanka Triptahi) An illiterate girl who believes in God. Lives in a fairytale story who will fight through destiny- very sensitive, emotional, loving and caring. Will do all she can to try her best despite if she doesn't make it.
- Saagar (Sharad Malhotra) He is the chote Thakur. A mentally ill man who has a brain of a child's. Although loving, caring, smart. He's also Vidya's prince/husband.
- Sindoor... She's a women who knows what's in her victims mind. Vidya's rival - All she wants is Vidya to get out of her house so she could have all the property and for other reasons. Does all she can she show the difference between Vidya and her Status.
- Vidya's mum Kaushaliya - She's a widow a helpess women. Cares for her daughter and loves her, but sometimes can't because of circumstances. She tries her best to keep her daughter away from trouble.
- Vidya's Chachi - She's a very cruel person - and always thinks of new ways to make her daughter's status hight than Vidya. Mostly she's after money - comes up with scams that sometimes are a flop also a very humours person in the show. Quote "Haye Daiya footi kismat humaari" She wants her daughter to go in a very rich family so she will be loaded.
- Vidya's friend - Only seen in some episodes, she's caring and thinks about her friendship. Truly believes in her and has a lot of confidence. Supports Vidya in any problem and stands up for her rights.
- Vidya's Chachi's daughter Shalu - She hurts Vidya inside - but also is one of the humours characters on the show. Wishes to get married and goes wandering after boys.
- Saagar's Mum - She's a widow - A loving women who understands other people's emotions, supports Vidya but is helpless sometimes - she's naturally the eldest in the Thakur family.
- Saagar's dad - He passed away because of a heartattack - Only seen in some previous episodes. Encourged Vidya to defeat the problems in her life. He was a fair man who believed in truth and wanted his family to stay happy and joyful all the time...
- Vidya's "lover" Harsh - Despite the fact Vidya doesn't feel the same as he does for Vidya he keeps on trying to get Vidya at any state. His love for Vidya is a mission for him and he'll do all it takes to get Vidya. But also he somehow cares about her deep down but express it but harassing her.
- Chinu he's Saagar's cousin - He cares for Vidya and knows what she goes through and treats her exactly like a sister than a sister- in - law. Kind, loving and sometimes secretly gives ideas how to get closer to Saagar. Also cheers up Vidya when she was depressed.
- Vidya's Chacha - A selfish man and a joru ka gulaam. His greed is money and follows whatever his wife says. Mostly shown in some parts.
- Chandra - Sindoora's sister - She's the youngest sister - follows her sister's footsteps leading to evil. She's unmarried though was in lve with Harsh in her first sight.
- Sindoora's sister - She's married- she encourages her sister at every step - But sometimes doesn't focus on her own life. She follows her sister's footsteps leading to evil... Sarcastic person.
- Sindoora's sisters husband - He's a good looking man with a smart brain - Girls are his weakness - Although keeps it a secret from his wife. Shows how good well manered man he is but he's completely the opposite also harasses Vidya to like him...
- Sindoora's husband - A well manered man who mostly spends his time in his profession. A supportive person and will be there whenever you need him. But does get caught in circumstances - Encourages Vidya.
