chapter 27

Veera woke up after an hour and was feeling much better than before. She saw Viren and Jeevika still laying down on the bed talking with each other. Viren had his arms around her waist holding her tightly. They kept smiling and hitting their heads with each other. You could tell easily they loved each other so so so much.

veera - "You guys can never get enough of each other can you?"

viren - "Oh look, your highness Veera Vadhera is awake"

veera - "What's the plan? I wanna go party already"

jeevika - "Well first we're going for dinner with everyone and then they will go and do whatever they want. We will go after that"

viren - "How about we cancel going to the club"

veera and jeevika - "NOOO!!!!"

viren - "Geeez, calm down both of you"

veera - "I'm so excited to wear my new outfits. Oh my god. Let's get ready"

Veera went to the bathroom to freshen up and she started seeing bruises all over her arms. Every time she touched it, it would start burning. She didn't know what to do as if she wore her new outfits, it would show all her bruises. She decided to wear a plain simple dress which had full length sleeves. She came out and saw Viren and Jeevika still laying down and cuddling. Viren kept planting kisses on Jeevika's cheeks and forehead.

veera - "You guys are like crossing the limits today. Bhai get up and get ready"

j - "Veera why are you wearing this simple dress? Go wear the silver one we bought that other day"

veera - "Uhmm no it's okay bhabhi this one is fine"

j - "But why, you loved that dress?"

Veera didn't know what to say and Jeevika was very confused. Viren got up and got his clothes out and went into the bathroom.

j - "Veera what's wrong? I know you're hiding something from me"

veera - "It's nothing"

j - "Veera'"

Jeevika stood from the bed and made her sit down on the bed.

j - "What is it, tell me?"

Veera folded her sleeves back and Jeevika could see all the bruises on her skin. She looked all around and slightly touched it, and Veera cried in pain.

j - "Is it hurting a lot?"

veera - "Yeah when I press it or put pressure"

Just then Viren came out the bathroom "Jeevs can you'"

Veera quickly unfolded her sleeves so Viren wouldn't see anything.

v - "Is everything okay?"

veera - "Yeah, I'll be right back. Need to get something from ma" she said walking outside the room.

v - "Jeevs what happened to her?"

j - "She's starting to get bruises all over her body. Its because of the chemo Viren, and the poor girl is in a lot of pain"

v - "Are you serious? But I mean"

j - "Don't make a big issue of it in front of her okay. I have some numbing cream which will help her"

v - "Let me go get her. You quickly get ready and I'll find her"

Jeevika changed her outfit and put her hair up and in the meantime Viren and Veera came back inside. Veera was silent, and feeling a lot of pain and Viren and Jeevika could both tell.

j - "Veera fold your sleeves, I have this cream which will help you"

veera - "Its okay bhabhi its fine"

j - "No its not. Come on sit here"

Viren made her sit down and Jeevika started applying the cream. Veera started crying unknowingly as it hurt anytime put pressure on those spots. Viren wiped her tears away and then Virat and Shlok came inside the room. Veera covered her arms and then went outside the room.

virat - "Whats wrong with her"

viren - "She's in pain right now"

virat - "What happened?"

viren - "She's starting to get bruises all over because of the chemo"

jeevika - "She's getting really conscious too Viren. I'm getting scared now that she's going to start hating the way she looks"

virat - "Don't worry we will cheer her up. You guys ready to go?

jeevika - "Give me two minutes. You guys go on, I'll come"

Virat and Shlok left closing the door.

viren - "You okay Jeevs"

j - "Viren I'm really really scared for Veera now. You don't know what its like for a girl to be experiencing this kind of stuff. She's going to start feeling insecure of everything"

viren - "We won't let that happen. Come on, it's going to be okay"

j - "But Viren"

viren - "No ifs or buts anymore. Come on lets go." he said extending his hand out.

Both of them closed their door and walked outside. The whole family was waiting for Viren and Jeevika. They went inside one of the halls and were seated immediately. Everyone was tired and hungry as well. Everyone ordered what they wanted and were busy talking, except for Veera. Veera just quietly sat tried to look engaged, but was feeling uncomfortable. Jeevika couldn't help but notice how unhappy she was feeling at that moment.

j - "Viren stop wasting time. Do something"

viren - "Okay okay. Virat why don't you switch seats with Veera, so she can sit here next to me"

virat - "Okay"

Virat got up and went to Veera.

virat - "Veera go sit in my chair"

veera- "Why?"

virat - "I need to talk to Shlok about something"

veera - "Fine"

Veera went and sat next to Viren.

viren - "Ohh look Ms. Sassy pants is sitting next to us. I though you were tired of me and Jeevika today" he said trying to get her to talk again

veera - "I'm not interested. Virat bhaiya had to talk to Shlok so he asked me to move"

viren - "Stop lying. I know you love listening to our conversations"

veera - "In your dreams"

viren - "By the way hows Armaan doing? I still haven't met him yet"

veera - "Obviously not because you're not married yet"

viren - "What does me being married have to do with meeting him?"

veera - "Well then bhabhi will be there to control you. It's just different. You'll probably be nicer also because you're gonna be in you "honeymoon" stage"

viren - "You and your reasonings Veera. Can you at least tell me stuff about him?"

veera - "Depends. What do you want to know?"

viren - "What is he doing following and chasing my sister from India to here? he said smiling.

veera - "Bhai you don't have to do this fake talk with me just to make me feel better"

viren - "I'm not I really, I want to know"

veera - "Yes you are, but whatever. He got a scholarship to study here"

viren - "Oh so he's intelligent?"

veera - "Obviously"

viren - "What is he studying?"

veera - "Pre-law"

viren - "Law, really now?"

veera - "Bhai get over yourself. It was better seeing you romancing with bhabhi. Bhabhi please distract your fianc, he is getting on my nerves"

viren - "Very funny! By the way we have a surprise for you"

veera - "What?"

Viren hit Veera on the head.

veera - "Oww what was that for" she said rubbing her head

viren - "Its' called a surprise for a reason dumbo"

veera - "Yeah whatever" she said not in a good mood.

Soon everyone's dinner came and they all started eating. Viren kept looking at Veera, who was barely eating and playing around with her food more.

viren - "Veera that food is for you to eat, not play with"

veera - "I'm not hungry. I think you guys should just go to the club. I'm not in the mood to go. I'll see you guys later"

Veera got up and just left while everyone was still eating dinner.

j - "Did you say something to her? Why did she just leave like that?"

viren - "no, she just said she's not in the mood. You stay here I'll go check up on her"

j - "You want me to come?"

viren - "No, its fine. I got this"

Viren left the table and headed towards the direction of Veera's room. As soon as he got there, he knocked on the door but didn't get any response. He somehow found his key and opened the door and didn't see her inside there. He was getting worried now thinking where she could be and why she was feeling so upset. He searched around finally finding her sitting in one corner just staring out at the waves. He took a chair and placed it right next to her. She didn't even notice he was there, that's how lost in thought she had gone.

viren - "Veera are you okay?"

Veera turned around and saw her brother and hugged him tightly. She rested her head on his shoulder as she continuously cried and Viren just hugged her back.

viren - "What's wrong? Why are you so sad. I thought yo were going to be the happiest person, more than me today. Why are you feeling all sad all of a sudden?"

veera - "today for the first time I realized I was dying. I could see it. My arms, my body; everything is giving up on me slowly. What if I never get to live to see Virat bhaiya getting married. What if I never get to see your kids. God knows how long I have left to live now. I wanna stay here with you and only you. Please don't let me go away from you bhai, please" she pleaded and cried at the same time.

Viren held her tighter trying to fight back her words in his head. He knew what she was saying was true, but he couldn't and wouldn't let her break down like this. He needed her as much as she needed him.

viren - "Listen to me Veera, nothing is going to happen to you. You understand? Don't ever say things like that, because you are my life. There's no possible way me, Virat, or Jeevika will ever let you go far away from us"

veera - "You promise" she said still crying

viren - "I promise. You will be the ones naming our kids. Not only that you still have to finish getting your degree right. So stop worrying about that. But you need to promise me or actually promise and fulfill one demand I have"

veera - "What?" she said slowly breaking the hug.

Just then Jeevika and Virat came.

jeevika - "We need you to do one thing for us Veera, uhmm take it like it being a wedding present for the both of us. You promise you'll fulfill it?"

Veera slightly nodded.

viren - "Your doctor has come up with a new treatment plan to help cure your cancer. This plan has high chances of totally eliminating your cancer, but"

veera - "But what?"

viren - "It's a very rigorous treatment plan. You might have to be hospitalized most days of the week and the chemo and radiation will be much much more stronger than what it has been. They are going to have to monitor you very carefully making sure your body is responding. And this means you won't be able to attend this semester at least"

j - "And since you're 18 you are legally allowed to decide whether you want this or not. That's why the three of us have come here to tell you this. We want you to do this"

veera - "But isn't it going to be as painful as death. I already cannot tolerate the chemo sessions I'm getting. What's that going to be like?"

virat - "When you have your family with you, there will be no pain. The three of us are never going to leave you alone. We will always be at your side. But we just need you to say yes now"

Veera was petrified of agreeing to this, but she knew she wanted to live now. Today her eyes opened and she realized how much she would be missing on if she didn't get her cancer cured. There was so much she wanted to do in her life. She wanted to finish her college at USC, she wanted to find a suitable career, and she wanted to be just like her older brother Viren. He was her role model, and she always promised herself she would do whatever it took to become like him. She had to do this. Not only for herself, but also for her family. She could only imagine how the three of them had planned and wanted to break this news to her. Everything made sense now. It was like a puzzle was solved in Veera's head. She now understood what the doctor wanted to talk to Viren for and why Jeevika was behaving a little weird and pretending to hide something from her during the physical exam. She had no option now, but to say yes.

viren - "So will you do this for us? As our wedding gift?"

veera - "I would have done it for you alone bhai" she said hugging her brother again.

Virat and Jeevika were sooo glad that Veera agreed. This was one huge burden of now as convincing Veera almost seemed impossible to do. Jeevika wouldn't help but notice the love Viren and Veera had for each other. No matter how much they bugged each other, they couldn't replace each other. Their bond was just something else and the most different relation in this world.

viren - "So this means then you still owe me a wedding gift"

veera - "Nope, you lost your chance. You asked me to do the treatment so I agreed"

viren - "But you said you did that for me"

veera - "I said I WOULD HAVE done that for you HAD you asked and not brought your wedding gift in this matter. Sorry bhai you lost your chance" - she said wiping her tears and smiling again

viren - "I won't spare you"

virat - "Can we finally party now? Especially if our Queen Veera is feeling better now?"

viren - "Only if she's feeling well. We don't have to go you know?"

Veera wiped her tears and said "No I want to make this trip memorable and do the things I've never done before, especially with you three. The three of you are the most special people in my life. I really don't know how to say thanks to you guys. I wouldn't have been able to come this far along without your help. Thank you"

Virat went and sat next to Veera on the other side.

virat - "You don't need to thank us. We love you"

Then both the brothers hugged their little sister who was sitting right in the center. Jeevika started crying looking at how cute the three of them were. She wiped away her tears and then Viren lend out his hand to her. She placed her hand lovingly on top of his as he made her sit down on his lap.

j - "Enough crying now. Let's go people. I want to do something crazy tonight, last night to be abnormal before I become married" she said with a sad face

viren - "Don't worry its my last night of freedom as well" he said jokingly.

Just then Jeevika slapped Viren on his left shoulder while Veera slapped him on his right shoulder.

viren - "goodness gracious, both of you stop tormenting me"

They soon started laughing and went to enjoy the last night of Viren and Jeevika being unmarried.

OKAY, SO THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE UPDATES BECAUSE I REALLY LOVED WRITING THE BOND BETWEEN VEERA AND VIREN. GUYS PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT VEERA IS THE SOUL OF THIS STORY SO DON'T LASH OUT AND SAY THERE'S NO VIRIKA. BECAUSE IF VEERA WASN'T THERE, THERE WOULD BE NO VIRIKA IN THE FIRST PLACE! You always make me speechless with ur updates. It was super duper update im in love with it. Feel really bad for Veera to be honest i really felt her pain in this update like she realized that she had to and wants to live. Viren is the BEST brother love their bonding. Cant wait for the next update, hope we get VIRIKAS WEDDING. Thanks for this amazing update. We really appreciate it that u take ur time and update for us u never disappoint ur readers thanks a lot dear.
