Thane Cyber Crime Cell questions Nach Baliye contestant Manav Gohil on why he and his wife Shweta bought 200 SIM cards

It emerged last night that the Thane Cyber Cell (TCCC) cops have questioned Nach Baliye contestants Shweta Kwatra and Manav Gohil over how and why they had purchased 200 pre-paid SIM cards from an Andheri-based BPL dealer.

The cyber crime cell was investigating a seemingly-routine case of obscene SMSes sent to a Thane housewife, when they stumbled onto a much bigger scam that can impact all reality-based shows on television.

Probing a complaint by a Thane woman who had received a series of lewd SMSing on the night of October 16 from three different numbers, cops found that all three numbers were part of the 200 SIM cards that a BPL dealer in Andheri had sold to Kwatra and Gohil. The couple, police say had purchased these 200 SIM cards in bulk from the dealer to gift to friends and well wishers who could then vote for them in the dance show. Nach Baliye 2 is poised at a crucial stage with four couples eliminated and the fate of the remaining six, including Manav and Shweta, hanging on the number of SMSing they receive in their favour.

One of these 200 SIM cards bought was handed over to an assistant of Mahesh Patkar who is the choreographer for Manav and Shweta on Nach Baliye.

well because of couples like HG who don't know the D of dancing and are still in the competition the other couples have to do something so that they don't get thrown out... else like the ace dancer narayani and gaurav everyone will be thrown out...

Excuse me,Wot has dis got 2 do with Gauri and hiten again.They have never(I repeat) never ever told or forced or bot sim cards 2 vote for themselves.Arre,dey dnt have time 2 do so yaar.If a fan with her own convenience is voting for them ,theres no mistake of HG.Why pick on them.Here matter is different guys,Shweta manav have bot sim cards themselves and distributing 2 people 2 garner votes.Theres no need 2 involve HG in this.

No one is picking on HG... but then there is no need to call manav being illegal as the guy has clearly mentioned that he has asked his father and other close friends to vote...

manav has been plain unlucky to be caught in such a controversy.. how can u be so sure that the other couples are not doing something similar??? and just imagine even after getting Rs 101 and good scores ppl are insecure as they know that the not so good dancers will effortlessly walk over them...

well it is definately legal to do what he did.. so noe can say its illegal.. also they are in no toruble, this will pass by in a day or two.

well there is no end to this discussion.. i am a big fan of shweta-manav.. i think they're extremely talented and ace performers and they have every right to be in NB2...

they've just been plain unlucky to be caught in this controversy... and under the given circumstances even if they did buy 200sims - its not unfair...
