Coffegirl, it is against IF rules to compare other shows. The topic will be closed most probably. Lets not compare any other show with Saathiya. That is not done.

To answer your question, I think Saathiya is truer to reality than you think. It is certainly over the top and UrShi wants you to pull your hair out at times but there is a certain amount of entertainment that Saathiya offers that makes you come back to it.

Kitchen politics as it is called, the feeling of family, the bond between couples, Sons and mothers, Father and son.. The relationship and the complexity pulls you to it.

Plus Saathiya is still in the top 10 TRP shows and that proves that boring or not, people still see it. So it stays while SP sees if it can get any other show to give the same TRP at the 7:00 PM time slot.

One thing that certainly helped SNS and is still helping it is the fact that MIL and DIL are not enemies but rather share a beautiful bond that is at times that of a mother and daughter and at times that of a DIL and MIL. The viewers of SNS relate to that.. Younger generation might not but at 7, the older generation audience make the maximum viewers

As a final note, please remove the mention of other shows from the topic and just put your question about Saathiya.

The thing with Saathiya is that it has never solely relied on a simple love story to keep it going. It has harnessed in the notion that a simple and unloved orphan girl can find a way to be happy. That a MIL does not necessarily have to be an ogre and that the bond of a MIL and DIL can also be a happy and strong one. It brings in family values, the love and respect between them. It strikes a chord with many people even when they are running stupid storylines. 😆

Another thing I would like to point out is that we have to take the good with the bad. Most of the time the stories are 🤢 or make you go 😕. But one thing is true is that when we are given a really good story line we are happy and appreciate it a lot more. Imagine if Saathiya was a roller coaster ride all of the time. The actors would be exhausted, the writers burned out and I would be sat in the corner with a bottle of vodka, rocking back and forth with a mad look in my eyes. 😆

I think I am having that mad look lately Xari😆

But yeah.. the good with the bad.. I liked the last few months a lot.. It has been pretty entertaining and exciting. The CVs and the actors do need a break after such emotional episodes spanning weeks on the end. Some KK madness is of course allowed.. CVs are giving their brains a holiday..

Wish they end the vacation soon though. 😉
