chapter 11

Viren woke up at 10 the next morning and saw how Jeevika's arms were wrapped around him. He tried getting up, but couldn't.

viren - "Jeevs, can you move? Let me go check on Zaaine"

jeevika - "Viren stay where you are. Don't move and Zaaine is still asleep"

viren - "He maybe up and hungry. Let me go check on him"

jeevika - "No I said you're staying here with me right. Now hold me and let me sleep in your arms"

viren - "I love this early morning romance"

jeevika - "Its not romance, its sleepiness"

Viren just lay down with Jeevika in the bed before Zaaine actually started crying for attention and Jeevika had to let go of him while she slept. Viren brought Zaaine back in the bed and placed him in between himself and Jeevika. He patted his stomach, making him go back to sleep. Zaaine cutely moved sides as placed his tiny little arm around Jeevika as he slept. Viren found it so adorable how his son was hugging Jeevika. Viren moved sides to facing Jeevika and Zaaine and hugged both of them together and slept.

After another hour or so both of them got up. They both were standing on the balcony drinking coffee and spending some time together before Zaaine would get up.

jeevika - "Karan and Zoya are so lucky they get to leave for Europe tonight. I really want to go out"

viren - "Me too. Should we go somewhere? Like out of country"

jeevika - "You know more than Europe Viren, I want to go home. I want to go to India"

viren - "Do you really? I mean won't it hurt you just more"

jeevika - "It will, but it hurts me no matter what. I miss home"

viren - "But Jeevika isn't Zaaine to young to be traveling like out of country? We can go once he's a little better"

jeevika - "I know, I don't want to take a chance. And see if I do join this surgical program, we won't be able to go. So please from now onwards we aren't discussing this okay"

viren - "No, its not okay. We are going to figure this out"

jeevika - "Its pointless arguing with you. Anyways what time do we have to leave?"

viren - "We still have time" he said getting in a nughty mood.

jeevika - "Viren Vadhera you are shameless. Let's go check on Zaaine, he should be getting up soon"

They both walked over and saw Zaaine starting to open his eyes. He started smiling and giggling making Viren and Jeevika so happy.

viren - "He looks like he's well rested"

jeevika - "Zaaine is always well rested, its his parents who aren't"

viren - "True, but the smile on his face makes it all better"

Viren picked Zaaine up and held him close to him.

jeevika - "He looks exactly like a mini Viren"

viren - "He is a mini Viren"

j - "So what should we do today?"

v - "Up to you. I want to get home already. I'm just exhausted."

j - "Yeah same. Viren look he's putting his thumb in his mouth again"

v - "He's probably hungry"

Viren took Zaaine into his lap, and before he knew it Zaaine threw up on him again.

j - "Ohh shoot. Why is he doing this. Hold Viren I'll get a towel"

Jeevika went to grab a towel and cleaned Zaaine's face up and then Viren's shirt. She picked Zaaine up and took him inside the bathroom. Jeevika took a wet cloth and wiped Zaaine and then Viren entered, SHIRTLESS!

v - "Is he okay?"

j - "Of course he is. He threw up on his daddy. Are you okay?" she said smiling and trying to check out Viren's abs

v - "Yeah. Why are you giving me that look? Am I looking hot shirtless?"

j - "What look? I'm not giving you any look"

v - "You didn't answer my second question"

j - "I don't remember what it was. Now go shower, you stink"

Jeevika was leaving the bathroom with Zaaine when Viren caught her wrist.

v - "I'm not going to let you go till you answer what I had asked you"

j - "Fine! Your looking super hot shirtless. Happy now?"

v - "Very! Now I can go shower peacefully thinking how much my wifey loves me and thinks how hot I am"

j - "Whatever floats your boat. Or actually whatever makes you ego go higher Viren" she said laughing and going outside with Zaaine.

Jeevika changed Zaaine and put him in a fresh pair of clothes. She took out his bottle and tried feeding him but he wouldn't and started throwing tantrums by moving around and crying really hardly.

j - "Zaaine please stop crying. What do you want? Are you hungry?"

Zaaine was being an attention-seeker and just continuously crying. Jeevika was getting frustrated being so helpless and not knowing what to do. She burped him thinking he maybe uncomfortable, but that didn't work. She gave him his bottle again, but he refused. Then Viren came out and saw a helpless Jeevika.

v - "What's wrong Jeevs?" he said taking Zaaine from her arms

j - "He's crying continously. I'm so scared whats wrong with him. He's not hungry and I burped him so he isn't uncomfortable either"

v - "Okay calm down. Go freshen up a little, I'll walk him around okay"

j - "No Viren, look he's still crying. Give me I'll hold him"

v - "Jeevs go inside. Don't worry he used to do this when you are gone to the hospital. I got him"

Viren started walking around the room back and forth patting Zaaine on his back. He would rub his back and stomach and give him small kisses on his face making him slowly quiet down. He fell back asleep and Viren just kept him close to his chest. He loved holding his son so close by watching him sleep so innocently gave him biggest happiness in his life.

j - "He's sleeping again" she said whispering?"

v - "Yeah"

j - "How did you get him to sleep? What was wrong with him?"

v - "I think sometimes his stomach starts hurting so that I just rub it and he starts feeling comfortable again"

j - "Stomach, how do you know its his stomach?"

v - "That baby book we read, remember?"

j - "How come this has never happened to me?" she said getting all depressed and low.

Viren knew she would start feeling guilty so he said things to make her feel better.

v - "Because he likes to show his drama side to his dad and just wants to be in a playful mood with you. See today also he threw up on me. He doesn't like to get his mommy dirty"

Jeevika could tell Viren was making that up to not make her feel guilty for not knowing her son well enough. Every moment like this made her want to run further and further away from her career focusing just on her family. How could she not know what her son needed? She was his mother and gave birth to him.

j - "Viren I feel so bad. I'm his mother, I should know this kind of stuff"

v - "You know things that I don't know"

j - "Like?"

v - "Like his medicines and his proper health"

j - "any doctor can do that, I'm his mother I should be able to instantly understand what he needs. I'm such a bad mother, wife, and doctor. I'm useless" she said starting to cry

Viren was laughing at how he just got his son to stop crying and now his wife was crying sitting next to him. He slowly wiped away her tears trying to move as little as possible not wanting to wake up Zaaine.

v - "shhh babes please stop crying. Everyone has their own role. If I'm good at one thing and you are better at another. No need to cry and feel insecure okay" he said making her move closer to him. He gently made her place her head on his shoulder and caressed her hair as he patted Zaaine as well.

v - "Do you want me to sing to you also?"

j - "Stop irritating me Viren. I know you're the best at everything and I'm not. I can't even handle my own son"

v - "Jeevika, stop. I'm best only because of you. You make me the best"

j - "No I'm a failure"

v - "Zaaine and I will not talk to you if you say that again"

j - "but its true"

v - "Just because one time you couldn't get him to quiet down doesn't make you a failure"

j - "It does"

v - "My goodness Jeevs, you've become a little kid who I have to pacify"

Zaaine started waking up again just slowly opening his eyes but not wanting to do anything but lay peacefully on his dad. He spread his arms around getting more comfortable and started smiling.

v - "He never gives me a smile, its only you. He gives me vommit"

j - "Very funny" she said getting back in a good mood.
