BONUS CHAPTER
Viren and Jeevika were in the hospital, while Manvi was at home. Jeevika was asleep on her bed and Viren was sitting in her room.
v - "Manvi, I'm coming home in a little bit with Jeevika"
m - "Okay, jiju I'll make lunch for di right now. Is she okay today?"
v - "She was in pain again, but she's asleep now"
m - "Okay, I'll be waiting for you jiju. Ohhh by the way I think chachi, ma, and bua are coming to Bombay tonight"
v - "Tonight? I hope everything goes by fine Manvi. I mean Jeevika still doesn't sleep well at night still. And with so many people around I'm a little scared"
m - "I'm scared to jiju, but we'll handle it. Don't worry"
v - "Okay, I'll call you when we leave. Jeevika is waking up"
m - "Okay jiju, bye"
v - "Jeevs, you feeling better?"
j - "A little bit. Virenji I'm really really tired of coming to the hospital every week. "
Viren places a small kiss on her cheek and then sits back down on the stool right next to her.
v - "I know, but you have to stay strong just a little bit longer. Come on you've come along almost 7 months. Just two more months right"
The nurse came in and told Viren that Jeevika was now done for the day. She informed him he would need to bring her back again in 5 days.
v - "Come, you ready to go home now"
j - "No virenji, all we do is go home to hospital or hosital to home. I want to go out"
v - "What are you going to go do out? We'll do whatever you want at home. And I don't have to go to office for the next few days. Say whatever you want to do, and I promise you it will be done"
Jeevika started crying.
v - "Jeevs, don't cry. Come you want to go out for lunch today?"
Jeevika nodded no. She sat up from her bed and Viren helped her. She was so insecure so she clung onto him hugging him real tightly.
v - "It's okay. Remember I'm not going away from you and neither are you. We're going to make it together"
The past few months were really tough for everyone. Virat, Viren, Manvi and Jeevika had moved in their Mumbai house for a while. Viren started working there as Jeevika had to stay in Mumbai till her delivery. Every few days she would have to the hospital to get some blood thinners through an IV to reduce her proteins in her body. Since Jeevika had undergone severe depression, and was still getting out of it she developed pre-clampsia. Every few days the doctors would monitor her and make sure all her organs were working correctly. Viren hadn't slept in so long as he would be up making sure Jeevika was alright. Many times she would have nightmares even a seizure once.
v - "Let's go out for lunch. I'll tell Virat to pick up Manvi and we can all enjoy together. But then you have to promise me you're going to sleep when we get home. You were up all night again"
Jeevika just kept hugging Viren and didn't say anything. He hugged her tighter knowing she felt more relaxed. They sat on the bed hugging each other until Viren's phone rang and he went to pick it up.
virat - "Bhai where are you guys?"
v - "We are about to leave the hospital. Virat do one thing and pick Manvi up from home. Let's go out for lunch"
virat - "Bhai you sure? I mean shouldn't bhabhi rest"
v - "I'm sure. Trus me"
virat - "Okay, text me whichever restaurant bhabhi feels like eating at"
v - "Okay, bye"
v - "Ready now? Let's go to the car"
Jeevika got up with the help of Viren and they both walked out together hand in hand. He opened the door for her and helped her sit down. He then sat in the drivers seat and started driving.
v - "What do you feel like eating?"
j - "I don't know. Maybe we should just go home"
v - "No let's go out for sometime but only if you're feeling well. If not then tell me"
j - "I'm a little tired"
v - "You want to go home then?"
j - "I guess"
v - "Okay, why don't we go home and I'll order in some food"
j - "Okay"
Viren stopped the car and messaged Virat they are coming home. He drove back home and took Jeevika straight to her room. She lay down closing her eyes for a bit. All the medications made her feel really uneasy and restless. As she fell asleep Viren went outside the room.
virat - "What happened all of a sudden, I thought we were gong out for lunch"
v - "She said she was tired. I think I'll just order some food at home. She didn't sleep last night either and I can tell she's feeling uneasy right now also. Virat I feel we should stop ma and everyone from coming"
m - "Even I think that jiju. What should we do then?"
virat - "Let me go talk to ma and see maybe if they can come after sometime"
v - "Okay, I feel bad because ma wants to be here with Jeevika, but what should we do?"
virat - "She will understand bhai don't worry"
v - "Okay you go call her and I'll go order some food"
Viren ordered chinese food for Jeevika and then went back to their room and saw Jeevika moving around her bed.
v - "You okay?"
j - "No, there's something wrong Virenji. I don't know whats going on, but somethings not right"
v - "Do you think that you're hungry? I just ordered some food for you, but Manvi made you some lunch also. Should I go bring it for you"
j - "No!! AHHH VIRENji come here"
v - "Manvi, Virat!!! come fast"
m - "What happened is everything okay?"
v - "Virat call the doctor fast"
v - "SHHH Jeevika take deep breaths and calm down"
Jeevika kept holding her breath in with the pain throbbing in her stomach. Manvi and Viren both patter her back. Jeevika started sweating so Manvi went to go get a cold towel and placed it on her forehead.
j - "Mannu do something. Please AHHH"
m - "Virat, where is the doctor?"
virat - "She should be here soon. There she's outside"
The doctor hurried in with the nurses.
dr - "Everyone please go outside the room"
Manvi and Virat left, but Viren couldn't leave Jeevika alone. He begged the doctor to let him stay and she did.
dr - "I think we need to take her to the hospital right away and do her delivery via c-section. Don't worry this was expected as we're fully prepared"
Jeevika was still screaming in pain while the nurse arranged for the ambulance and the doctor gave her an injection.
dr - "She'll start getting drowsy and won't know whats going on. So just keep her up and make sure she keeps talking"
v - "Okay"
The doctor went outside and as soon as the ambulance came, a bunch of people came inside with a bed and helped move Jeevika on it taking her in the bus. Manvi Virat had heard what the doctor said so they quickly got the car out and followed the ambulance. Viren stayed inside holding Jeevika's hand and keeping her awake.
v - "Jeevs, you're going to be okay. Don't worry, you're going to be holding our little baby soon"
j - "Baby.. but'.but'. he's not supposed to come for another few months. Where are we going" she said all drugged up
v - "We're going to the hospital. Just relax okay"
As soon as they got to the hospital, they wheeled Jeevika inside a room with Viren by her side. The doctor told him to wait for a little bit outside, while they got Jeevika settled down.
manvi - "Virat, let me go call everyone at home and in Rishikesh. I think Ma and everyone must have left even from Chandigardh"
virat - "Here I'll go call, you stay here with bhai"
They both waited outside till the nurse came and said only one of them could go inside.
m - "Go jiju, you should be with di"
Viren went inside the room to his love who was waiting for him. Virat came back and told Manvi that the whole family was coming now, including everyone from Rishikesh.
m - "Virat I just hope everything goes by fine now with di's delivery. I hope she's strong enough to deliver, I mean its still so early on"
virat - "Don't worry, you have taken such good care of her the past few months. She will be perfectly fine. Imagine how she's going to feel when she gets to hold her little baby. I hope its a little boy"
m - "Mee too actually" she said as they both hugged each other
By another hour or so everyone was in the hospital and so excited to meet the new bundle of joy. Manvi was getting scared as it had been a while since anyone came outside to give an update on Jeevika.
virat - "Manvi don't worry, everything should be okay. Bhai is inside with her"
m - "Virat, somethings wrong. I know it Virat, I'm really scared" she said starting to cry.
vanshika - "Manvi beta, think positively. Jeevika's health was getting better, she'll be able to come out of this. Don't worry"
Not until another half an hour, the doctor finally came out. Everyone crowded around her eager to know how the mother and baby were doing.
dr - "We had gone for the c-section as planned, but there were many complications once we opened her up. After we got the baby out, Jeevika started bleeding out and all her organs started failing. I'm really sorry we couldn't save her"
Manvi fell down on the ground. She felt as if a bus had just come and crashed into her. That pain and that feeling. Her di was gone, gone far far away. Everyone was beyond shocked and no one could control their tears. They didn't even know how Viren was. Virat picked Manvi up from the floor and they walked inside a room where Jeevika lay on the bed and Viren holding her hand with no emotion. It was just like his soul left his body as Jeevika's did a little while ago too. Next to the bed lay a little angel. A beautiful little baby girl, who was waiting to be held. She was probably the first child in this world, who was born and none of her parents had taken her into their arms. Was she a curse? Everyone saw the lifeless Viren, and Jeevika just there. How could they accept this. This was like the end of the world. The baby started crying, finally awaking Viren up and bringing him back to reality. He picked up the last thing he had left reminding him of his wife and comforted his angel. He cried as he hugged and kissed her, wishing that his life, his love to wake up just once and hold her daughter. The precious gift she had given. But she didn't. She lay there as the whole family cried their hearts out and Viren doing so the most.
She was gone and was never going to come back. He cursed her and all now he was the murderer. He was his wife's murderer. How he wished to get her back, but he couldn't.
