Hello all. M overwhelmed with the response I got for the last two chapters. Thank u so much guys and girls. 🤗🤗

This story is still not over. We have sorted out Arshi but still there r Arjun-Anjali & Sonam-Rishi which r pending to deal with. So please bear with me. More Arshi is on the way. Watch out what happens when the newly reunited couple decides to turn match makers in the later chapters. 😉

Chapter 40

The day was full of surprises for Khushi. After the confession, Arnav was leaving no opportunity to pamper her. Arnav had meetings so he could not stay with her for a long time but Khushi was getting one gift or the other at an hourly interval. There were all the things she liked ' red roses, jalebis, gol gappe, a new JHOLA (Khushi's terminology for a handbag) and what not. Whatever she got had some or the other connection with their past, all happy memories that had kept her sane during the whole separation phase. She was left speechless when she received the eighth gift of the day which was a lehenga, very similar to the one she had tried when she had gone for shopping with Lavanya. Then there was another gift which was a chain of pearls similar to the one that he had broken at the time of their first encounter. Khushi was feeling overwhelmed. She could not exactly explain what she was feeling at that point of time. She had never been treated like this before. She felt special. She felt wanted. And all the doubts she had about them and their relationship flew out of the window. We belong together. And I would b damned if I let any second thoughts spoil our relation now.

The small message was enough to bring a huge smile on Khushi's face along with a faint blush. How can someone manage to evoke such passion with such simple words?? Her heart was thumping against her ribs. Her breathing was erratic, anticipating the upcoming dinner. She was suddenly nervous. They had never gone out for a Date till now and this first time was exciting her and making her feel nervous at the same time.

But we still have work pending. The designs r not yet complete.

Khushi managed to reply reluctantly but work was important too. Pressing the Send button was the hardest thing at that moment as she wanted to grab the idea of spending some quality time with her husband.

Everything has been handled. Don't worry about work. See u in the evening.

After that message, Khushi was seen glancing at the clock every ten minutes. Clock was being lazy today. She wanted the evening to begin soon.

Arnav was making sure that everything was perfectly arranged for the dinner. He had planned a lot and didn't want anything to go wrong. He wanted to make their first date extra special. He was sure that Khushi will love the arrangements, but what if she doesn't, asked a small voice at the back of his mind?? But he chose to ignore it. He couldn't let anything de-motivate him today. KHUSHI WILL LIKE IT!!

Mehta Mansion

Evening (6 o' clock)

Khushi had reached home and straight away entered her room. She had to look perfect for the date. She had planned to put a little extra effort in getting ready tonight. She took her towel & entered the bathroom. She regulated the water temperature and then let the warm water to fall & relax her tired and stiff body. She came out after 45 minutes in a white knee length bath robe, towel drying her hair with a white towel. The next challenge was deciding what to wear?? She had gone through almost whole of her wardrobe and still could not decide what she should wear. Finally after a lot of thought, she decided on wearing a red gown, her hair let down, falling in soft curls. She looked angelic, a beautiful woman, and innocent & nave like a child at the same time. A neutral lip-gloss and some kohl completed the look. She had just finished getting ready when the honking of horn intimated her of Arnav's arrival. She rushed out of her room running all the way down the stairs to meet him. She was too excited to see him. But what she saw made her stop in tracks. Arnav was standing holding the passenger door open for her. He was wearing white wide necked see through T-shirt with blue jeans. This was the first time she had seen him in casuals & needless to say, he looked devilishly handsome. Hey Devi Maiya!! He should b charged criminally for looking that handsome.

On the other hand, Arnav's situation was worse. He had planned a lot for tonight but one look at Khushi and he wanted to take her then & there, to hell with the plans & taking one step at a time thing. He was never good at stuff involving patience & it was one hell of a Herculean task to carry on with the original plan ignoring his desire and his body's need.

Finally Khushi walked towards the passenger seat. Arnav offered his hand and after making sure she had settled in her seat and strapping her seat belt, Arnav took the driver's seat and started the ignition. Khushi had no idea where they were going. Arnav kept on driving, stealing occasional glances while Khushi was finding the road ahead and the scenery outside the window more interesting. She would give occasional glances at Arnav from the corner of her eye. Both remained quiet throughout the drive.

Arnav stopped the car in front of a Mansion. It was located in a secluded area outside Delhi and was smaller than RM but the design & style screamed of ASR. It was a beautiful place with garden and lawn in the front. The entrance was illuminated with fairy lights and diyas. Khushi felt her heart warming up at the sight. Arnav had taken everything she liked into consideration. When they reached the main door of the house, Arnav picked Khushi in his arms and crossed the threshold. Khushi was stunned at that act. She had no idea what just happened. Arnav took her to the living room and made her sit on the sofa.

Arnav: Wo' It's the family tradition that when the bride enters her home for the first time, the groom crosses the threshold lifting her in his arms.

A small smile played on Khushi's lips. That explained, and well, justified the act.

Arnav: U may explore the place if u want. I'll b back in 10 minutes.

Saying so, he left Khushi sitting on the sofa and entered another door. Khushi was confused but decided to explore the place. She went through the various rooms. Most of the rooms were decently designed but there was one room which was locked. She was still going through the various rooms when Arnav called her. She went back to the living room and found Arnav setting up the dining table which was actually a table set up for the two of them.

Arnav (smiling): Dinner is ready.

Khushi: Wow!! I was starving.

They took their seats opposite to each other and started serving themselves. Khushi loved the food and openly complimented the chef. Arnav was looking embarrassed at these compliments but did not say anything.

Khushi (after they finished their dinner): I want to meet the chef. I'll ask him how he prepared this dish.

Arnav: (hesitating) Umm. Well. There's no chef here.

Khushi (confused): Then u must have ordered the food from somewhere. Right?? From where??

Arnav (murmured slightly turning red): Actually I made it.

Khushi was shocked. She could not believe this. Arnav Singh Raizada & COOKING?? No bloody way!!

Khushi: U r kidding me. Right??

But on seeing Arnav's expression, she was sure that it's the truth. She was touched. She knew Arnav had no idea what she was feeling at the moment. Hell!! She herself didn't know what she was feeling. Just that this feeling was giving her immense happiness. She was beaming, a huge smile on her face. She suddenly stood up from her seat and came to him. What happened next left the Arnav Singh Raizada stunned. Khushi bent down, put her arms around his neck and kissed him full on lips. The kiss lasted for a few seconds and Arnav could not bring himself to react even when she pulled back. She looked at him in his eyes, a small smile playing on her lips. Suddenly feeling shy, she lowered her gaze and blushed deep crimson, the smile not leaving her face.

Arnav so wanted to pull her back and ravish her but he knew he had to control himself. This was not the right time to give into his desires as it might scare Khushi. Moreover, she was not prepared for any such intimacy.

Arnav took her hand and pulled her in his lap. Khushi was still not ready to meet his eyes. Arnav cupped her face and made her look in his eyes, the other hand around her waist. He kissed her on her forehead and she suddenly felt a strange comfort seep inside her, as if she was finally home.

Arnav (huskily): Khushi, m planning to leave for Mumbai tomorrow. Will u join??

The question was asked expectantly with a hint of hesitation in the tone. Khushi could read in his eyes that he was not sure if she would come along with him or not. She just nodded her approval and rested her head on his shoulder, arms around his neck, finding her solace in his arms. This moment was her bliss.
