Okay I was beginning to think I was the only weirdo left on earth who appreciated Jiji's acting at all. That woman is just wow. For the longest time I could NOT decide whether she was good or bad. Initially her battles were justified as it could have been anyone who would have had a problem with certain situations in that household. But my doubts were confirmed when she remarked to Bhabo for the first time saying "Dont mind, Bhabo lekin humein to lagta hai ki chhoti bahu ke pairon mein pahiye lage hue hain. Kya hai na, ki jab se hum dekh rahe hain, Saloniji ke qadam to ghar mein tikte hi nahi hain. Oh sorry Bhabo, humare lecture ka samay ho gaya hai, hum chalte hain".
Man oh man, I would have LOVED LOVED LOVED to see Saloni's first meeting with Jiji. I saw it in recaps but I want to watch the whole episode...it would be a treat. She is my favourite vamp right up there with Gargi and Porineeta from Tumhari Disha, Jigyaasa from Kasamh Se and the COMMANDING Sindoora from Banoo Mein Teri Dulhan. She talks and thinks out loud and behaves in the most matter of fact manner. Looking at her I feel it's so easy to get sucked up in melodrama but it's Nivedita's conscious effort NOT to get all theatrical like Kaveri, or that woman from Mamta (the who thought she looked all hot with her grey lenses and opening and closing her eyes like a cat... Mamta's nemesis) or even that Madam X wanna be Vasudha Vashisht from Tumhari Disha. Oh I hate to admit it, but I LOVE the way Jiji acts. She is a total natural. Makes me wanna be an actor sometimes.
