M-EIEJ, Episode telecast on 9th Jan., 2012 – A Synoptic Perception
Not unexpectedly, we got a filler episode today…….It was Ballu aka RZ all the way at his sinister and maniacal best……
"The one permanent emotion of the inferior man is fear – fear of the unknown, the complex, the inexplicable. What he wants above everything else is safety. " (Henry Louis Mencken)
And it's this fear of self protection that has Balraj playing along with his for a while before he can go for the kill…….
On the one hand Trishna's self-centredness and selfishness overcame her fear for Balraj………so much that for the fulfillment of her dreams she was willing to be the "judas" to her own sister and mother……
On the other Madhu, having no fear and being unaware of his identity does get a deep sense of eeriness when coming face to face with Balraj…..nevertheless her kind heart does not prevent her to tend to his injury……….
The episode also gave us another glimpse of how poles apart these two sisters are and how perfectly the forthcoming lines brings out the difference :
"There are ultimately only two possible adjustments to life; one is to suit our lives to principles; the other is to suit principles to our lives. If we do not live as we think, we soon begin to think as we live. The method of adjusting moral principles to the way men live is just a perversion of the order of things." (Fulton J.Sheen)
On the closure, I would say that even though it was a filler episode, it was interesting one with apt lines and effortless perfomances from all……where the leads today took the back seat and parallel characters were in focus, namely the father-daughter duo Ballu-Trish……as for Rishbala, just got them in "blink and miss" moment…….
