Sci-fi Antariksh shows children a new future
Star Plus's new show Antariksh — Ek Amar Katha was recently launched at a fun-filled afternoon with children from Smile, an NGO. There were also performances by actor Ganesh Venkataraman who plays the role of Amar and Sachin Tyagi who plays Rankaal. Antariksh is about imagination, gizmos, gadgets, space and outer space.
The show depicts an adventure through various action-packed events that will shape the destiny of the courageous Prince Amar, as he fights the evil Rankaal in his quest to save humanity. "Antariksh is the first show that has already taken a leap," said Star India's executive vice president Deepak Saigal. The story is set 10,000 years in the future.
Talking about Rankaal, actor Sachin Tyagi says, "It takes me an hour to get ready for the shoot. My costume weighs 28 kg that has 28 pieces to be wrapped along with a facemask. When I wear it, I can't even drink water. The two things that are closest to my heart are the mask and my weapon on my wrist," he says.
