Love' brings Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar together
Karan's banner Dharma Productions will soon go on floors with a new love story to be co-produced by Phantom Films, a production house helmed by Anurag. The makers of the film plan to rope inStudent of The Yeardiscovery Siddharth Malhotra opposite Parineeti Chopra for the project.
Vinil Mathew, who shot to fame after directing a popular coffee brand ad-film featuring Deepika Padukone and Karan Johar last year, will make his feature film directorial debut with the yet-untitled project.
Sources said the joint production will go on floors around April. The film should be ready for release by the end of the year. KJo told media that his collaboration with Anurag was exciting and although the two belonged to different schools, they shared a vision when it came to quality in cinema.
On his part, Anurag has revealed a high regard for Karan, who he considers to be one of the most intelligent filmmakers. He has also praised KJo's business sense in the past.
Neither Anurag nor Karan is willing to give out details about the film yet. Anurag's move to join hands with Karan at this point has surprised everyone because it was only last July that he turned down an offer of alliance.
Karan had then approached Anurag for a co-production but the latter reportedly refused, saying he preferred to work only under his own banners
