My dear Shruti and all the others who liked today's episode,
I would like to share a contrary view about it with you all, and I hope you will be patient with as I do it, and consider my points objectively.
First of all, the acerbic exchanges between R and R, as Aliya puts it, were downright childish and irritating. What sort of impact would such goings on between the ETF chief and the No.2 have on the junior officers? Rathod was unusually and unduly crabby and the exchange with both of them using the other's full title was really comic. Perhaps, given that Aisha was not there to spar with Arjun (even that had tapered off by last Sunday), Rathod decided to take up that slack!
As for today's episode, I am afraid I felt it was the worst in a long time in terms of plot credibility. Please let me explain why I feel so.
I do not want to go into too much detail, but as I written on another thread,
how on earth did Roshan suddenly discover that Dr. Talwar is his mother, how did he know that she was treating Meera, and most important, how did he jump to the conclusion that she had pushed Meera to her death? If Arjun had told him all this after working it out for himself on the basis of the clues he lists in the end, they should have mentioned it clearly. As it is, it looks not at all credible or convincing.
Besides, a
s a motive for the crime, Dr. Talwar's anger at Roshan's having tried to commit suicide over Meera's refusal to give up her dancing is most inadequate. Why was she not afraid that with Meera dead, Roshan, in a paroxysm of grief, would try to commit suicide again, and might just succeed this time?
In the end,
it was unclear whether Meera's premonitions were genuine or just part of her psychiatric problem. If it was the latter, as it seems, how come the mall fire premonition for one contestant's mother, and the accident premonition for the security officer both came true?
All in all, a confused and inadequately plotted episode. Tomorrow they will be back to the old staple of such series, poison in the food. I hope it is better done - the plot, not the food!😉
Also, I would, like all of you, like my Fearless Nadia, aka Aisha, back. Don't worry, she will not take a transfer out of the ETF. They have located a female lead after so much effort, and there is no way they would start all over again in 2 weeks!
And Aliya, Meera's dance was not a patch on Nadia's
Dum maro Dum. In fact I have never before seen such a dramatic entry for a female character in a TV serial: sensuous, lovingly shot close ups in a split screen format, and a shapely derriere swaying to one of the most famous songs of its kind in Hindi films. Not quite Zeenat Aman, the original
Dum maro Dum girl, but very good nonetheless!
