PART 10

Lavanya's lips twitched into a slow smile when she saw her bhai's name blinking in her mobile after a pretty long time.

Lavanya : Bhai.. how are you?

Arnav : hmm .hi chutki so you remember me still? I am fine..

Lavanya (shrugging) : ah.. that question should be from my side. You seem to have forgotten me after ur marriage has been fixed. I thought my bhai was different who wouldn't reduce attention to his own family after the marriage. But you seem to be no different from others.

Arnav was stunned, his younger sister was being posessive was understandable but her remarks on the change in behaviour of Arnav baffled him up. He knew she was not happy with the proposal because of her earlier confrontation with Khushi but she wont go to the extend of accusing him of changing lines for this. There was something else bothering her. But something made him sad more than the words which pricked him was the worry that she is unhappy in the current situation which everyone in the family unnoticed.

Arnav : uh my baby sister has started talking so much. I didn't know that you were so posessive on your brother. Are these words from your mouth or from your heart? I was proud that my sister would be the only one who would understand me truly, am I wrong in any sense?

Lavanya felt a tug in her heart hearing those words. She didn't mean to hurt him. She knew he was not like Akash nor like an ordinary brother. He was more like a friend with whom she would share all her joys and sorrows, a father with whom she feels secured. Her words had affected him was evident.

Lavanya: Bhai.. I am sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I w.. was just teasing you, nothing serious in my words.

Arnav : I can distinguish seriousness and fun in your words. I have been watching you from the time when Nani handed over a small baby angel to me and Aki saying she is your sister and she is both of yours responsibility. Since then I know my siblings more than myself so I dont think you need to pretend before me.

Lavanya couldnt hold her tears. She moved aside from the family not to show her sadness to them. Her cries made him worried.

Arnav : Shh.. Chutki. What happened? What is bothering you? Tell me.. I know you are totally disturbed. I want to know what it is now! Is that because of my marriage with Khushi?

Lavanya : No bhai. Not exactly. True that I am angry at Khushi for what happened. But now that is not bigger concern for me. I am sorry. I hid something very important from you. Not that I purposely did but I was scared to tell you.

Arnav got tensed hearing these words , situation was worse than he thought. Thoughts colliding inside his brain. His tone changed from a jovial brother to a responsible concerned father.

Arnav: What is that ? Tell me properly... What did you hide from me?

Lavanya : Bhai. I am in love with one person. His name is Kishore. I met him in a mall when someone tried to misbehave with me, I mistook it was him and confronted with him. But afterwards I understood my fault and we fell in love with each other. It was not just an attraction bhai, we both truly loved each other. He is not the one who would cheat so easily. He is a from a rich family and his father is a big business man who travels around the globe most of the time. He looks after their business when his father is not around. We took our relationship so serious I was about to talk about this to you soon. The day I fought with Khushi I had blasted him when he asked me to join him for a coffee. True that I should have handled it better, but my anger overpowered at that time. After that I hardly met him for 2 weeks. I got a call from him saying he is moving to Canada and he is no longer interested in this relationship. He wanted me to proceed with my life without thinking about the affair anymore.I cant bhai.. I love him truly. I am sure its not because of the fight he broke with me. There should be something else. He cant behave like this being a high class person in the society.

Lavanya started crying bitterly which left pangs in Arnav's heart hearing his little sister's bad condition. He understood the real situation and came to the point that the person she loved is not to be trusted upon but he was also confused by his sudden decision of breaking up. Though he wanted to console her he didnt take up the face of a sympathy showing brother but a responsible and a matured man.

Arnav : Okay, stop your crying now.. answer me these.. How do you know he loved you truly?

Lavanya : I know bhai, I know him I know from his behavior towards me, I know from his affection towards me and moreover he is not that type who will ditch girls for the sake of enjoyment as he has got a better status and position in the society.

Arnav : Oh so your love is measured on the parameters of status and richness? Thats ridiculous Lavanya...

Lavanya : Bhai.. that also matters..

Arnav : Just throw this damn thought in your dustbin. Money and power is not everything Lavanya. Ok how do you know he is rich? DO you know his father? Do you have any details about their business? Where are they from?

Lavanya : Bhai.. I know his father has some chain of restaurants and he is on world tour most of the time. They are also from Lucknow. I dont know much about their name. I felt it would make him feel that I am suspicious about his life.

Arnav : ah.. what stupidity! You dont have proper evidence that he is rich and you love him based on his status and richness.

Lavanya started weeping as she understood that whatever her brother questions are right.

Arnav : Final and the most important question.As a brother I am bit reluctant to ask you this question but its my duty to protect and caretake my sister..Did your relationship just proceeded with just an ordinary affair or I mean have you gone beyond the limit?

Lavanya : No bhai.. I am not that kind. I will never go beyond my limits. I loved him truly cant accept that I should break this relationship with him. I want to know what was the exact reason behind this.. Is it because of less money and status that he ditched me..

Arnav: Fine... now shall I suggest or advice you?

Lavanya : Anything you tell me that will be my path from now on. I have already commited a mistake by not informing you this earlier now I wont continue that mistake any more.

Arnav: You got enlightened about this too late Lavanya.. A person is not judged by mere words, status, position, money or power. True love comes from the heart, if yours was true love he would have proved that. He could have easily revealed his exact identity instead of beating around the bush. I know this age is susceptible to such types of relationships which might make you fall for its trap. It depends on our outlook on how we take things and how we react to it. The freedom and the rights which our family provides you is not to be taken advantage and tampered. We hold certain amount of prestige in society and I should not hear any sort of statement from anyone saying Lavanya was the reason for any small black mark about our family. Here I am not talking about money but the name of our family which is still held high. Transparency and Straight forward approach is the basis of true love so if these two are not in the picture you can predict the genuineness of your love. I feel you better forget about everything and concentrate on your studies.We are here to see your growth and development of your career and your happiness in life. Dont let us down. Mamaji and Mamiji has lot of hopes and aspirations on your career and marriage,Please dont ruin it for God's sake.

Lavanya : Sorry bhai. I will follow what you say. I will forget about him and will concentrate on my studies.

Arnav : That s good. Dont worry about him I will take care of everything if you truly trust me..I will try to find where he is and what was his intention..

Lavanya : Of cz I trust you bhai. I know you can clear everything. I will listen to you.

Arnav : Next important matter is do you have any anger against Khushi ?

Lavanya : hmm.. did she tell you anything?

Arnav : No. She just told me that she was the one who confronted her during the dance and the rest I could guess as you had informed me before. She wanted to apologise and end this here. I too feel the same. You go and talk to her and finish this. I feel it was your mistake Lavanya.. You should not have questioned her like that, I would have defended any girl,not for Khushi for that matter. There is nothing you are going to lose in life while asking an apology though the mistake was done knowingly and unknowingly. I want you to be a good sister in law. I want you to consider her as friendly as you consider me.

Lavanya : I will talk to her bhai. We are going for shagun after 2 days. Will go and talk to her personally and will ask apologisies too.

Anjali came searching for her and found out that she was talking on her mobile here.

Anjali : Lavanya.. are you standing here? How long we have been searching for you? Now come on we shall leave.Who is this on the phone?

Lavanya : Di.. bhai on the line. You wanna talk to him?

Anjali ( excitedly grabs the moblie) : arre. Chotte how come you call at this time? That too talking only to your little sister?

Arnav :Di.. I was calling you only. Long time since I spoke to her.. so hows the shopping going on?

Anjali : hmm. Shopping is always wonderful. I have emptied your jijai's pocket by taking clothes for everyone.

Arnav : My poor jiju has to suffer so much in your hands!

Anjali : oh dont feel sorry for jijaji. I m going to see you in the same situation after 6 months.

Arnav : Di.. I know how my Khushi is in these matters. Dont worry..

Anjali : My Khushi?? OMG who am I talking to? Lavanya pinch me...

Arnav : Di.. enough enough... so you took dresses for all? What about my baby?

Anjali : I know whom you meant. I took dresses for everyone in our family Khushi's family and also many for Khushi. Infact your baby has selected a red dress for her and Khushi, no wonder she is like you.

Arnav : oh thats great.. anything for me????

Anjali : Dont worry.. I have taken one kurta for you also.. but look forward for the dress selection by Khushi.. let me see her selection..

Arnav : That would obviously be awesome. Im going to hang up before you start another teasing session. Take care and say a hi to all.. Bye

Anjali ( giggling) : I am happy for you chotte. I want you to be happy like this always..ok.. chalo take care and bye..

Anjali's happy tears were shared by Lavanya who was excited to see the two best siblings on the earth talking over the phone. She decided to be herself and get her mood back for the sake of her family for the sake of her bhai.

Shagun ceremony taking place in Gupta mansion. The guests were welcomed by Buaji and Garima. Sashi was busy in attending Raizada parivar. Nani and Mami gifted all the things bought by them to Khushi. Madhu didnt leave her mami one second. Shyam and Anjali were watching very happily. Lavanya was busy in taking photos and video. She looked happy and was waiting to meet Khushi alone.Akash utilising the golden opportunity to spend time with Payal. Happiness across all the faces. Khushi wished her brother could also have attended the function. NK had called her in the morning and explained her that he wont be able to make it for the function. She got sad but he encouraged her and wished her. Though there were little fights and differences between them Khushi had loved him like a friend. NK could also feel the sadness of his sister through the mobile. But he couldnt help much rather than consoling her and giving her a promise that he would make it up for her wedding..

Khushi appeared to be smiling and happy but deep in heart was anticipating if Arnav could also have attended the function.She closed her eyes and saw a glimpse of her prince in her mind. The next moment her meditation was distracted by the the phone ring which was obvious that it could be none other than her Arnavji. He could easily sense if she had thought about him.

Sashi took the call and spoke to his "officially announced damaad" happily. He was happy the way Arnav's family had attended and graced the function. Arnav was very happy to hear that all are happily enjoying the function with Khushi.

Arnav: Thats great to hear Papa. I miss all your joy and fun. I can only think about you people. Long time to see you all directly.

Sashi : Bitwa.. dont worry time will fly fast and I m sure you would reach home soon to meet all of us. We are also eager to meet you.

Arnav : Papa. I wanted to have your permission on one thing. My brother has a computer center in the town. Khushi can join any weekend courses if she likes. I also would like to have a video chat with her. Are you okay with it papa? If you are not comfortable then I dont have any problem too.

Sashi thought for a while. It was strange to find such a young man who asks permission to talk to his fiance. He felt happy about Arnav's respect and responsibility and agreed for it.

Arnav was very happy hearing it and he so wanted to talk to Khushi. But to his utter disappointment all of them except Khushi spoke to him. He had to cut the call as Misha was staring at his boss for taking such a long time in finishing a call early in the morning. Arnav thought he could make it up in the video chat for that.

Khushi was happy to see Lavanya apologising to her. Khushi couldnt talk to her much but the smile reciprocating from Lavanya's face was enough to show nothing is wrong anymore between them. Lavanya greeted her and left the room.Sashi talked to Akash about what Arnav had asked him. Akash was stunned to hear his brother asked his father in law permission for a video chat and he agreed.He wondered where his brother got all this courage from? He knows to make people understand and follow his path. He wished if he had half of this courage his Payal wouldnt torture him for the marriage. The next day Khushi had agreed to go to Akash's center for video chat. Raizadas left after spending some happy time with Khushi and family.

Misha came back to the meeting room announcing the boss's official and blushing talk to his family on his shagun. Arnav came in hearing the giggles and quiet talks.Akshay, Rania, Misha, Kunal, Vishal and Anita stood up to greet their boss and congratulate on his marriage. Arnav smiled and thanked them..

Rania: Boss you look really nice while smiling.

Misha : Oh stop it Ranu.. now we dont have that right to tell him. Vaise bhabhi also looks gorgeous..

Kunal : Yea thats y we cant get our boss on hold from now on..

Akshay :Boss you can contact me for any help regarding how to tackle babhi. I have lot of ideas which I used for my girlfriends..

Tanish : Ideas for what ?break up and finding new ones? Dont tell me!He knows better...

Anita ( with a sigh) : Yea he knows.

Vishal (grinning) : I am very happy for you boss. ( in mindvoice looking at Anita.. Im very happy for me as well)

Arnav was laughing at his colleagues' they always had fun and frolic inbuilt in them 24*7. He agreed to take them for a grand treat the next day as he was a little busy today night.

Khushi couldnt receive call that night as she was so tired and Arnav could understand that controlled his desire. But sleep was not even visiting near by Khushi as the anxiety of meeting her Arnavji made her hyperventilate. She closed her eyes not to get some sleep but think of him.

Akash welcomed his bhabhi and would be to his office. He showed them the entire office space. He made Khushi select her course which they offered and led her to his office as he was sure if he made any more delay his bhai would play with the trumpcard -- his marriage with Payal. He invited Arnav online and the impatient Arnav happily accepted while sipping his fourth tea which was making him wide awake at night.. He sat straight by clearing his hair infornt of his laptop and didnt bother much about the dress as he knew she would like him in any dress he wears.

Akash : "Bhabhi, if you need any help just call me. No one will disturb you in between the chat."

Khushi : "Thats ok Akashji, thank you so much."

Akash : "Oh thats my pleasure. I will wait outside. Meanwhile payal come we can have a chat together."

Khushi was hiding her smile to the open proposal for a chat. Payal stared at him for making her embarassed.

Arnav ( in mindvoice after hearing Akash's words through the speaker, frustration for the delay on seeing Khushi's face ):

Aki enough dammit, just leave now... Go and romance outside the room! Now its my turn...

Akash left taking Payal with him. Khushi's nervousness knew no bounds and she praying to her devimayya not to lose her senses slowly moved forward to take her seat and took the microphone.

Angel? Fairy? Goddess? Uh... no words for such a beautiful, gorgeous yet simple lovely girl appearing on his screen in a pink salwar with hardly any make up and jewellery but adorned with a sweet and a cute smile. She looked like a doll and he was totally mesmerized by her beauty that he forgot to even say a hi to her. Her quivering lips and red crimson cheeks attracted him so much.He is blessed to posses such a beautiful soul who loves everyone unconditionally.

Khushi's eyes opened to lift her face up to see the screen. Simple, charming, kind,naughty look with overflowing hotness and cuteness on his face who was wearing a plain red tshirt and a black track pant. He is the owner of such a considerate and loving heart, she couldnt believe her eyes. She lost her senses when her eyes caught the beautiful creation which she ever had seen-- his eyes... She felt as if she was melting in his strong gaze.

How much we talk to a person through phone we would have a face in mind and their actions and expressions would be according to what we imagine.Both were looking at each other for a long time trying to match up with their imagination. The fact was it had literally crossed their imagination.Both were feeling they are not just lucky but purely blessed to get such partners.Their comfortable level while talking through the phone was missing while looking at each other in their screens. He broke the silence

Arnav : Khushi ?How are you??? You look really beautiful more than I imagined.

Khushi : Thanks Arnavji.. I am fine. How about you? you look handsome too.

The husky and the honey voice created havoc in their senses. It was very difficult to continue the conversation.
