Life turned back to normal after meera's marriage and so maaneet's relationship. The bond between geet and her mother in law grew stronger as they spent more time with each other.
Geet was happy to be a house wife and cater her whole time to the household needs and family. but Niki (maan's mom) knew her interest in business and persuaded her to join back office and show her abilities to world. Mom I feel happy to be with you guys whole day and discuss things. And waise bhi whole day goes so fast ki I don't have time for office, geet had said when niki tried to send her office.
Geet am not forcing you to join office, I am just advising you and I have heard from ma how you had helped maan to get a big project for company. Geet after marriage I too joined office till maan's birth uske baad bacho me itna ulajh gyi ki ye sab kabhi socha hi nhi. But geet you have time now, if you utilize it in something you like to life would be a dream warna ghar sambhalte sambhalte kabhi kabhi woe k bojh aur burden ban jata h. think about it and its always your choice beta. I would be more than happy to have you here with me whole day to talk.
Patting geet's cheek she left leaving her in thought and after discussion with maan she happily returned to office and she couldn't thank ma enough to show her the right path while maan was more than happy to have her beside him all day long.
dev had officially joined the business and was now the co-MD with maan as Raj (maan's father) took part time retirement and just overlooked the business giving the major responsibilities to his sons who were proving themselves very well in the business world. Annie was not interested in business thus decided to further study interior designing as a time pass for her. Dadima was getting old and weak with time but satisfied to see her family complete just having wish to see her other grandchildren settled and seeing the face of her great-grandchild.
It was winters and delhi was freezing like anything while a pair of couple was snuggled in bed hidden in warm blankets trying to warm themselves up yet the closeness was not at all helping.
Geet you get due so soon, whined maan as he hugged her closer to his body.
Are what's my fault, ab cycle to complete hoga hi. I was saying ki now we should start planning atleast but you don't listen so now don't blame me for this said geet as she pushed him away and laid back on her side of the bed on the farthest possible corner.
Geet, maan was irritated with her same complain. Moreover the news of meera being pregnant that too after 6 months of her marriage had just made her crankier. She would hear meera discussing how it all felt and how everyone was happy and was waiting for the baby which was due after 5 months. She would even tell her how she was showing a little, just enough to be noticed when they look closely and geet was so much excited that she would ask maan to rethink again and again.
Geet didn't responded and just tried to lay still but even after wearing a sweater and a fluffy warm blanket she could help but shiver a little as the cold atmosphere pierced her even now.
Maan couldn't help but feel bad for her. It was difficult to warm her up in winters as her skin would turn ice cold in a single minute if left open and it would talk hours for blankets to warm her up. Finally giving up his irritation, he moved to her side and hugged her tightly from back plastering her body with his while his hands were rubbing her hands and his leg came in between hers and started warming her legs.
She tried to push him away but he didn't let her. After sometime her body started warming down a little and so did her anger. After few minutes, she turned back and hugged him tightly hiding herself completely in his chest while her hands moved to his waist hugging him tightly.
I am sorry to always bring up the same topic. I was just feeling cold and in irritation again brought back the topic. I know you love babies more than me and you are waiting for me only. I am sorry please forgive me. Geet said slowly feeling him muscles.
Maan smiled and kissed her assuring he isn't angry. It had been a regular issue since the winters started and it always ended the same way as it ended now. He just assured her six months more and then her every wish would be fulfilled.
Geet was going through corridor when she heard some giggling sound from annie's room. She tried to go inside but it was locked. It was strange, she thought, as annie never locked her door. Not wanting to eavesdrop she went to her room thinking she must be talking to some friend on phone.
Three weeks passed and geet noticed little change in annie's behavior. She used to be bubbly and chirpy whole day talking like a radio, but now she would be more lost in her thoughts. Geet knew something was going on as it was never her nature to be quiet for more than an hour.
Annie are you there, geet simply came inside and asked. Being childhood friends, it was not in their nature to knock and enter, just crash inside and take the full charge was their way. But annie was not there, may be in bathroom she thought and sat down. She was busy thinking something when the shrill voice of her cell disturbed her.
She looked at the caller id and it said arjun. She was about to pick it up as annie wasn't out yet but before she could say anything, she heard arjun calling her with lovely endearments. She was shocked and was about to say something but annie immediately came out and looking at the shocked geet, alarm ranged in her mind and she immediately pulled back the call and cut it.
Annie stood for few minutes while geet tried to digest the fact she just came to know. The girl who always used to decline all boy's moves toward her was in a relationship and suddenly the change in her behavior started making sense to her. Geet looked at her with raised eyebrows while annie just looked down not knowing what to explain.
Geet was about to leave, when annie held her hand from back and said, please don't tell maan bhai anything, he won't like it please. Geet could feel the hesitation in her voice and immediately faced her.
She settled her on bed and sat beside her. She waited for few seconds and after not hearing anything from annie, she finally broke the cold silence, khud bataegi ya puchna padegi??. Annie immediately looked at the calm tone of geet and smiled seeing her friend geet in front of her.
He is arjun, we are in same class in this designing college. We had met before too in some of social influential parties but tab sirf hello hii hota tha. Since last eight months we are together and have done most of our assignments together. Dheere dheere we started opening up and then came close and started liking each other. Though he hadn't said straightly anything but I knew he feels more than like for me and wo mai bhi wo… she stuttered and looked down.
You love him too? geet said as a statement instead of a question.
Annie nodded and looked away. We use to talk most of the time kabhi kabhi late night bhi but promise we had always been in our limits. He is dad's old friend's son and is a nice well cultured boy.
To why were you afraid of your bhai pagli, you know he will never deny you for anything right, geet said cupping her face.
I am not afraid geet, I just want to tell bhai when he will complete his studies and officially join his dad's company though he had started helping him in business long before. I wanted him to be proud of my choice and not be insecure. I know he worries a lot for even small small things and that's why I am not declaring arjun my feeling yet. And he wishes the same too. he wanted to be successful and then take a choice for his future.
Ok annie I understand but still I would have been more happy if you would have on your own told me about him. I thought I am your friend first and then your bhabhi but, said geet and stood up to go but annie immediately hugged her and whispered thousand's of sorry's till geet finally ahd to close her ears in defeat.
I know less of maaneet, but am here trying to show you the bond between geet and her in laws.
