Chapter – 7
"Meera ki bacchi! I had asked her to wake me up on time, but no, use toh koi khaddar hi nahi hai.", Geet complained to her Babaji while getting ready.
"Last thing I need is to be late, that too on my very first day at work!", she muttered while putting on her jhumkas. She looked at herself for one last time in the mirror to see if she looked presentable or not.
Suddenly Meera barged in from behind, screaming "Geeet, are you up yet or not?" and then she saw her friend all ready and standing with her hands on her hips, giving her a sarcastic smile.
"Yes and definitely NOT thanks to you!" Geet told her and collected her bag and made her way to the hall.
"Ooopsie! Looks like Geet is mad at me. I'll have to make it upto her.", Meera muttered to herself.
Suddenly she remembered something and ran behind Geet like she had been struck by lightning.
"Geet, wait.", Meera screamed, catching Geet just in the nick of time.
"Kya hua Meera?", Geet asked irrtatedly.
" I know today is your first day at office, but can you please come back home on time today?", Meera asked, looking all shy all of a sudden.
" Kyun?", Geet asked and then she suddenly remembered. "Oh! Ok, of course, I'll be back home on time and I'll help you out as well.", Geet said while smiling at her.
Meera gave her a big hug and said, "Ok, ab tu ja. You're getting late."
"Haye Babaji! Ok, I'll be back home on time and call me if you need anything.", Geet said and rushed out of the house.
"I just hope I'll be there on time. I heard that the M.D of the company we are having our meeting with is a stickler for time and cannot tolerate late comers. Help me Babaji!", Geet muttered to herself while getting into the taxi she had caught. "I still have one hour left to reach there but iss Delhi traffic ka koi bharosa nahi hai. I just hope that nothing goes wrong today.", she thought to herself.

"Where is she? Doesn't she realize that we're getting late just because of her!", Maan said angrily.
"Calm down Mr.Khurana. She's new. Today is her first day and anyway, we still have five minutes left as I had told her that the meeting will be held at 10 'o' clock. It's only 9:55 am. I am sure she'll make it here on time.", Mr.Chopra said, trying to calm him down.
"Maan Singh Khurana does not wait for anyone!", Maan replied back arrogantly, with anger. "I hope for your sake she'll be here within the next five minutes, otherwise I'll be calling this deal off!", he said with finality.
"As you wish.", Mr.Chopra said dejectedly, just hoping that his new employee will make it to the meeting on time.

"Oh no! Babaji! It's already 9:57 am!", Geet exclaimed while getting into the lift.
"I just hope I'll make it to the meeting on time!", she prayed.
9:58 am –
Geet reached the floor where the office was and asked the receptionist where the conference hall was.
9:59 am –
Still on her way to reaching the conference hall.
"There's only 30 seconds left for it to become 10 a.m., and she still isn't here." Maan said angrily while scowling at Mr.Chopra.
Mr.Chopra's palms were all sweaty and he loosened his tie a bit to try and calm himself down.
"Ok! That's it! It's 10 'o' clock. I have lots of work pend….", Maan couldn't complete his sentence as suddenly someone screamed saying, "Sorry! I am late.", and literally dashed into him. He caught the person just on time and was about to say something very rude, when he suddenly saw who it was, and completely forgot whatever he was about to say, as he looked into those mesmerizing hazel brown eyes.
