Episode 21

The premise is set, Khushi ready for another day, and Arnav ready bring her down at all costs.

Khushi is called into his office for today's task, she gets her cell phone ready just incase this laad governer starts talking in his fast english again.

Arnav asks "naam kya hai mera" (whats my name?)

Khushi, innocent as ever replies "Kya? aap bhool gaye?" (what? you forgot?) 😆

not in the mood to laugh, he tells her just answer what he asked, "Arnav Singh Raizada" she says (i'm sure she wanted to call him alot of other names but resisted!)

He tells her to correct his mispelled name on a piece of paper, delighted Khushi smiles thinking "that's it?" until he pulls out a big stack, that smile quickly goes away, and ASR makes sure not to miss her expression.

He hands her the heavy stack, which she drops on his lap, making for an awkward moment b/w the two 😆

Khushi's busy work keeps her busy for some time...

Just as she finishes,a supermodel makes her confident entry into the office leaving most men breathless and most women envious. Khushi is also in awe. Lavanya doesn't look happy as international model Leeza greets Arnav (err Arnie) with a flirtatious hug and smile. Its all for business for an expressionless Arnav, as he surely wants to keep his model happy.

***Even Khushi seems somewhat uneasy seeing ASR greeting Leeza, what say?

Leeza's fur coat from France, the only single peice, must be looked after with care as it is more important that a person's livelihood. ASR's shatir dimaag goes to work and knows the girl to assign this task to

"Miss Gupta!" khushi make her way to him

"pehle wala kaap khatam hogaya?"

Khushi happy to report "Haan, aur vo bhi waqt se pehle, sir aaj hame g."

Rudely interrupting, ASR dictates with authority that her next task is to take care of the coat. He gives her strict instructions to hold on to it in her hands "Statue ban ke kadhi rehna, Palken bhi mat jabkana" and as khushi tries to go to her seat, "uh uh! no sitting"...jeeze, talk about a mean streak!

At the Guptas, Shyaam is busy winning Buaji's heart with his sweet talk. He does give us some interesting insight about Khushi, he really does care for her regarless his creepiness.
"Sirf unka man thoda chanchal hai, par un mein ek samaj hai...aur sab ke liye pyaar"

meanwhile at the RM, Anjali is busy prepping for the katha as she get a call from her
hubby and lets her know that he will be coming for the puja. Anjali is over the moon!

As Jeff the photgrapher shoots away in this glamorous world, Khushi wants more than anything to go back to her un-glamorous world. "3 inch kapdo ke liye itni saari tasveerien?" she even doubts she will succeed at this task.

Sim/Pam take advantage to an exhausted/un-alert Khushi as they spill juice on the coat!😲 - (another inciden that noone found out about...i wish after Khushi resigns, ASR would find out that Sim and Pam did this and yelled at them ASR style)

Panicked Khushi, tries to get the stain our but her lack of knowledge about fur is against her. she has no choice but to go to Leeza and let her know.

Leeza goes a bit mental and calls for Arnie, Arnie bitwa haazir...
As Leeza continues her hysteria, Arnav's angery gaze once again fixated on Khushi "Calm down Leeza!" to shuts her up (Thank you Arnie!). He makes his way to Khushi...

She looks scared for her life!!

My personal fav today 😳 what is this look? its not anger, its right before anger, uff, but if it is anger, anger has never looked so yum IMO !!!

Loved the combination of dialogues and expressions in your analysis.Totally agreed he is not getting angry at her.He is so confused and baffled does not know what to do and what to say and just mystifies what ever comes in his Harvard brain infront of her.

Yes he is very respectful towards ladies but not tempted so agreed with you.Khushi only made him angry or restless because she was getting into that part of his brain where he does not want anyone.

nice one dear, Loved the "symbolisms"...LM/writers always had a great way to sneak them in. some ppl have done a great job pointing them out...i'm really bad at picking them out so we'll leave that up to u!😊

She tries to pick them up but is too timid to take them from a most intimate spot.😳 Frustrated he hands them to her. She leaves mumbling about Laad Govenor...
Back at the RM we see our Anjali taking care of the family and household and everybody's well being as usual.😃 She truly is the heart and soul of the family.❤️ 🤗 She knows what they all like and knows when they are hiding their eyes/ or something from her. (Akashi) "I know everything, Akash."
Mamaji and Nani bickering as always. I wonder why Nani is so set against Mamaji. Is it because she was a gold digger?
Back at the office...Kushi says so much work to be done on didi's bday, she tries working as fast as she can to get the work done so she can prepare the surprise for Payal. Amma checks in making sure Kushi doesn't goof up and goes home soon to her sister. ASR is walking down the stairs and hears again how she has to go home early. Sure, Kushi, sure...the demon 😈 will not let you go if he can help it.
Enter "The Three Stooges" that's what I am going to call them, La and her cohorts.😆 "Who does Kushi work, for you or ASR? " and her response is he pays the salary so whatever he wants he gets!

In comes the tornado!!!!
The supermodel, Lisa.⭐️
Spoiled brat.
La says, "OH, here SHE comes"
Kushi looks 😲

JEALOUSY in the air. meow,meow, you know these felines...they will scratch each others eyes out.

La keeps crumbling up the paper sheets with her anger. 😡 Like that is going to do any good..his attention is on Lisa right now, he has work to do.
Lisa's⭐️ preoccupation with her fur and how it is taken care of, is his priority right now and who can he give this tedious , ridiculous job to? Oh yes, his Miss Gupta, she wanted to go home early...NOT.
He takes the coat calls Kushi and hands it to her. Again walking towards her in his commando pose. "Don't you even move, just hold it, be quiet, no sitting, no nothing, just take care of it!!!"😡 For 5 hours more. Oh Devi Maya!😔
The Photoshoot scene was awesome when Kushi says, "So many pictures with so little clothes..." ⭐️ She is doing her job and still worried about getting home for her sister's bday. I love Kushi's loyalty to all.
2 of the 3 stooges conspire against Kushi and spill juice on Lisa's ⭐️prize fur coat and our innocent Kushi is unaware. When she comes to learn about the juice stain, she diligently tries to remove it, unfortunately failing. 😭 Just remember karma, stooges, karma.
Kushi then has to face the music...😭⭐️😡

Meanwhile back at the Gupta house... Shyam has taken over for Kushi. He is truly looking like a nice guy here. Picks up the birthday cake, preparing for the surprise for Payal. He tells Buaji he has to leave though for work. Remember we don't know his true colors. He is a gem right now. Still suspicious though.

Lisa ⭐️😡screaming, trying to cut her fur coat, hysterical woman...
ASR, "Lisa, RELAX..."
Grabs the coat and walks to our Kushi Kumari Gupta😭...Devi Maya help her. 🤢 His eyes, his trust in her, his control over her, his REVENGE to come...😡

Great take, loved the lines in red :) La did a great job when crumbling the paper when Leeza was flirting with ASR, it was nice touch to how everyone's reaction was shown. what a busy episode all around!!

episode 21

the episode started on a delightfully light note. day three of asr versus khushi kumari gupta, all agog to find out what's in it. khushi in full form with her dm bharosa, her wariness around this asr creature. but perhaps she's just a little surer of herself after last evening, and so the quick, irreverent repartee.

soon enough she realises, uh huh, the monster is alive and kicking, and armed with ridiculous ideas to keep her occupied endlessly doing banal things, erase extra "a"s from his haloed name in this case from a huge stack of letters. we see a cute, chaplinesque sequence of her tackling this, reminded me of the broom stick and khushi in peon gear much later in the prinicipal's office. here it was perfect for the story and the episode design, there it was just trying hard to garner trp while the main story was lost, the characters losing themselves.

and asr started out cool, clever, enjoying his plans, a nasty smile lighting up his insides, glittering in his wicked gaze. he'd heard she wanted to rush home early today, and so the game was simple: find ways to keep her in office. forever.

a lighthearted, frothy, quizzical, gently lit beginning.

then suddenly it was simmering red.

and finally, dark, smouldering, roaring beneath the surface, night closing in. all airiness gone, the space is getting denser.

not a trace of the day or playfulness in it. slowly passion seeps in. i kept thinking, this is perhaps the most tense and swarmed with unspoken feelings moment i've seen between them till now. something much much more than two people with egos rubbing each other up the wrong way. or maybe that's why. there was friction, lots of it. and it started the fire. again a sense of inevitability as he walked up to her slowly, characteristic swaying deliberate gait. and she stood stock still, terrified.

"night time sharpens, heightens each sensation

darkness stirs and wakes imagination

silently the senses abandon their defences

slowly, gently night unfurls its splendour

grasp it, sense it, tremulous and tender

turn your face away from the garish light of day

turn your thoughts away from cold unfeeling light and listen to the music of the night"

this smooth, efficient, and unerringly delivered episode design is what struck me the most about the episode.

those days, there was a lot of creative thought expended on the making of ipk. i enjoyed lisa, she was a little older than the usual models, but she was completely fashion world diva. haughty, selfish, using her sexuality to gain advantage, high strung and hysterical. what a fine frenzied response to orange juice on french fur coat. 😆

the understanding of character made the early days sparkle. somewhere akash is still in goofy haze while di cracks dupattewali jokes. manorama and ma in law love hate carries on. now dear mami sleeps off in the middle of loads of work. naniji in full spate at this. but here we don't have cowering bahus before acerbic saases. this is how they are, and below the acid, there's emotion and respect and all that makes one family. buaji is sliding deeper into the muck of shyam's sweetness. while payal waits for khushi to come home to celebrate her birthday.

anjali's husband is coming home this evening. shyam must go away for the night, work calls. the connection is clear, slipped naturally into story. up to you to make it or not.

and as khushi gazes speechless at the man and he looks back, intense, almost lost, a luxurious swathe of fur between them adding sensuality to it all, warm dim lights flickering, the curtain of faceted beads stay still as though holding its breath, the scene fades.

interestingly, he knew exactly who should take care of the fur coat, who would protect it with her life. so, while he did this to hold her back for hours and goad her into leaving, he still let her have that coat because he trusted her. hmmm, smarrrt bwoy, ajit the villain of my days would have said.

"... yahan statue ke tarah khada raho," don't even blink. must he sound so cute while saying such silly things. and sanaya was smooth and had the most supremely well pitched expressions. maza aa gaya episode. danke, doc.
