ArHi Os- Craving toothpaste!

Arnav opened the front door of his house, and entered inside! He was quite late today'.actually really very late. He had tried to come back early but the hectic meetings and teleconferences didn't allow him to do so. Now, he could only pray that his pregnant wife was asleep, but he was sure that his Khushi would be awake, she just couldn't sleep without him, not that he could, Arnav thought with a smile!

Arnav opened the door or their room, and he found Khushi sitting on the bed whilst staring at the big TV screen in front of her. Khushi did not show any any sign of acknowledging his presence! Arnav moved closer to Khushi, sat behind her on the bed and snaked one arm around her waist, in reply Khushi placed her head on his shoulders.

Arnav(whispering softly): I thought you didn't know that I was here!

Khushi(Still staring at the TV): I can sense when you are close to me, Arnav, I don't need to turn and look at you to actually acknowledge you!

Arnav: Hmmm, sorry for coming so late Khushi, I know I should not keep you and baby awake till late night, but I had'.

Khushi(cuts in): It's ok, Arnavji, I understand!

Arnav: So how are my two princesses today!

Khushi( turning around): Laad Governor, how many times should I tell you, the baby is a boy and not a girl!

It was the first time since Arnav came in the room, that he saw Khushi's face! And he couldn't stop himself from grinning at what he saw!

Khushi: Why are you grinning, Laad Governor?

Arnav: Khushi, did you by any chance forget to rinse your face after brushing your teeth?

Khushi: I'm yet to brush my teeth, and why are you asking?

Arnav: Because you apparently have lather around your mouth!

Khushi(wiped the lather and said with a wide smile): Oh, that,'.uhhh Arnavji can you please close your eyes!

Arnav: No, first tell me how did the lather reached your face if you didn't brush?

Khushi(frowning): Arnav, that's why i'm telling you to close your eyes!

Arnav: But'..

Khushi(cuts in): Please Arnavji!

Now how could Arnav refuse anything after hearing that sweet voice of hers! Arnav closed his eyes.

Khushi: Now, Arnavji, open your mouth, because Khushi, the chef, will make you eat a new and recently discouvered, delicious strawberry and cherry desert!

Arnav opened his mouth without arguing, and Khushi fed him the supposed "Desert"

After 5 seconds or so!

Arnav could decipher that he ate a cherry, what he couldn't understand was what was the sauce in which the cherry was dipped in? The sauce was not alien to him; he felt that he had already tasted that before! It tasted just like that stupid Strawberry flavored Children's toothpaste Khushi had made him buy recently! How much he hated that! Wait, why is it foaming in my mouth, is it''.Arnav opened his eyes in horror and saw that Khushi had a huge smile adorned on her face!

Arnav( in an uneasy tone!): Khushi, what did I just eat?

Khushi: Cherry dipped in toothpaste, it's heavenly right?

At that Arnav immediately ran to his washroom and came after washing his mouth thoroughly!

Arnav: What the! Khushi, you made me eat toothpaste, have you lost it?

Khushi: Laad Governor, didn't you ask me how the lather reached my face, so I showed you, what's the big deal?

Arnav: Khushi, you were eating toothpaste?

Khushi: Haan, actually I was craving toothpaste for I dipped one cherry in the strawberry toothpaste, and ate it!

Arnav stared on completely flabbergasted!

Arnav stared at the numerous files in front of him and sighed! Work was definitely the last thing on his mind right now, he just couldn't understand how could someone eat toothpaste???Well, his wife could, she was weird and all her cravings were weird too!

That was when he heard his phone ringing, Arnav looked at the caller's ID and he felt a small smile crept up on his face!

Khushi: Hello Arnavji, when are you coming back home?

Arnav: Why , are you missing me so much?

Khushi: Oh no, Arnavji, actually you have to take me to the hypermarket, so that's why I was asking when are you returning home, I could get ready nahh!

Arnav: What do you want Khushi, I will buy it, you don't need to go to the hypermarket, just relax and take rest!

Khushi: No, Arnavji actually I need to accompany, you don't know about these things!

Arnav: What the! Khushi, just tell me what you need?

Khushi: Fine, Laad Governor, you don't need to get angry on everything!

Arnav: Khushi, tell me quickly what do you need, I have a lot of work pending over here!

Khushi: Uhhh'actually Arnavji, our strawberry toothpaste is nearly over, so I was thinking that we could buy some lemon flavored toothpaste!

Arnav(sighed): Khushi, I will call you later! I have work here!

Arnav cut the call, and stared ahead!What the hell is wrong with Khushi and I can't even shout at her or else she will blackmail me that she is going to leave the house! I think I must meet up with her gynecologist before I go mental!

And that was when Arnav heard a knock;

Arnav: Come in!

Aman entered and said;

Aman: Sir, the presentation for tomorrow's meeting has been completed! Would you like to know the daetails?

Arnav: Go ahead!

Aman continued with the talks on the presentation while Arnav was again lost in Khushi's weird cravings!

After 30 minutes!

Aman: Sir, do you have any query about the presentation?

Arnav( Still lost in thoughts): Yes! Uhhh does your wife crave for toothpaste?

Aman(In a loud Voice): Sir, i'm not married!

That was when Arnav realized what rubbish he was talking, he murmured a little sorry to Aman and left the office!

Damn I made a fool of myself? What would Aman think about me? Who cares what he thinks!

Arnav entered the doctor's cabin !

Arnav: Hi, Mrs Sharma!

Mrs Sharma: Hello, Mr Raizada! Have a seat! So, is your wife fine!

Arnav: She is fine, but she is having some weird cravings, I mean yesterday she said she was craving toothpaste'.

Mrs Sharma (cuts in): Mr Raizada this usually happens to pregnant women, they crave for uneatable things and this is called Pica cravings. It's completely normal..

Arnav(getting angry): What do you mean this is normal, how can somebody crave for toothpaste!

Mrs Sharma: I understand that you are worried about your wife but, this is normal and happens to many women. In fact, this is not even weird! You would be surprised to know that many women crave things like chalk, coal, sponge, soap, detergent, wall paint and even mud during pregnancy. Mrs Sharma continued with a grin as she watched Arnav who stared at her completely shocked and dumbfounded by the revelation," this is normally the result of a lack of iron in her body. Whilst these types of cravings is normal, we should not forget that this is may be harmful for her and your baby, so I would suggest that you explain to to her that toothpaste may have some side effects. I'm sure she will understand."

Arnav finally found his voice and said: Sure, doc!
