The next day, Khushi woke up extremely early in order to prepare for her interview. It was finally time for Khushi to become the independent woman she had always wanted to be. She no longer would have to rely on her Mama and Mami no matter how wealthy they were. Khushi marched up and down her room reviewing her portfolio making sure every detail was up to date and most definitely presentable to Mr. Oberoi, the Head of Marketing at ML co.

Khushi's eyes slid over to the clock on the wall and then back at her notes before she gasped and looked up again. The commitment her eyes had made to her notes had completely overruled her in track of time. The interview was almost an hour away and she had yet to prepare breakfast for the Raizadas. Khushi flung her portfolio to the table and paced out of the room heading down to the kitchen to get started on breakfast. By the time she had all the food ready; fruits and cereal for Di, scrambled eggs for Nani and toast and juice for Arnav everyone had already proceeded to the breakfast table. Khushi stumbled out of the kitchen holding the tray of different foods, her concentration only evolving in the time.

'I'm sorry for the late breakfast, I had completely no idea what time it was' Khushi explained guiltily giving the food out to Nani and Di.

'Its okay Khushi, you leave the rest, HP will do it so go and get ready for your interview' Anjali said warmly, Khushi nodded and smiled for a brief second before she noted the empty seat that was supposed to have Arnav sitting in it.

'Where's Arnav? Did he sleep in again? He has to drop me off!' Khushi stressed, before she jogged up to his room with a jug of water, clearly not in the mood for his lazy mornings.

'Bless her, Khushi is literally running this household. I hope one day Arnav finds a good life partner like her' Nani said blissfully watching Khushi's stressed figure march up to his room.

'Me too Nani, but then again sometimes I think that no one could be more perfect for Chote then Khushi herself. But I'm not going to go their again after how abruptly they pointed out that its nothing like that the last time I said this' Anjali said glumly

'Well if it's not meant to be then its not meant to be Anjali bitya. Everything will eventually happen for the best. We just have to leave it in the hands of the higher one' Nani soothed, Anjali nodded in agreement.

Khushi barged through the doors of Arnav's room to find him deep in sleep. She angrily marched over to his bed.

'Arnav, wake up!' Khushi yelled in annoyance. Even on the day of her interview his laziness had influenced his being to bail on her once again. Khushi began to shake him after no response but instead, only got a few moans out of him.

'Fine, you asked for it' Khushi muttered before she poured the jug of water over Arnav. It was meant to be a last resort but when its Arnav, only the last resort ever works. Arnav's eyes yanked open as he shot up on his bed, filled with shock.

'What the-!' He said angrily glaring at Khushi who was smirking at him now.

'Your going to get me late for my interview! Now get up and get ready! We leave in 20 minutes' Khushi said strictly

'Right after I give you a morning hug' Arnav said sarcastically. He jumped up and pulled her into a hug that was so tight that the water she had poured over Arnav had drenched her too. As quick as she could, Khushi wriggled out of his embrace and punched his arm.

'Your making me even more late Arnav! Urgh! Just hurry up!' Khushi said before she stormed out of his room and into hers to get dressed. Within half an hour the two of them had had a shower and gotten ready. As Khushi walked down the stairs in a pencil skirt and shirt, she was thankful to find Arnav already ready to go.

'Can we go now?' Khushi asked with politeness and urge hindered together, Arnav nodded and got up unwillingly leaving his food unfinished

'Goodbye Di and Nani, see you in a bit' Arnav said kissing their foreheads before walking out of the front door with Khushi after she said her goodbyes.

Arnav and Khushi sat in the car and left in an instant.

'You know you didn't let me finish breakfast' Arnav said pouting

'Sorry, but if I get this job then I promise a lunch on me' Khushi said happily

'Nothing like free food' Arnav said seriously, Khushi just laughed at him. The car came to a halt outside ML Co. Khushi didn't spare a second as she said goodbye to Arnav and rushed through the doors of ML Co. coming face to face with the secretary.

Arnav rushed off home to finish breakfast when he passed a newspaper stand, he stopped hoping to find an article about a call back, so Khushi would be a little more restless when she came home tonight. Arnav parked up and jogged over to the stand and brought a newspaper. Whilst walking back to his car, he froze as his lingered over a page. It was an article about Khushi… wearing Arnav's clothes. The mean words Varun had used against Khushi in the article were not pretty. Arnav clenched his fists in anger; no one would hurt Khushi like that. Within seconds Arnav was sitting in his SUV heading towards the newspaper company.

'I have a job interview with Mr. Siddharth Oberoi, my names Khushi Gupta' Khushi announced proudly. The secretary searched the list and looked up and smiled

'Yes, right on time. Follow me' She said sweetly as she led Khushi to a rather large cabin. The secretary left her at the door and proceeded back to her front desk. Khushi gulped and nodded before she knocked on the door.

After a formal 'come in' Khushi opened the door and walked in coming face to face with Mr Oberoi.

'Welcome Miss Gupta, take a seat' Siddharth said, Khushi noticed how young he was, probably even the same age as her. He was tall and lean and had a very much flawless face with strong jaws and stubble. His grey eyes were legendary only highlighting his curly lashes. Although his presence was amazing, there was a slight mocking tone in his husky voice. Something wrong was definitely coming her way. Khushi gulped and took a seat handing him her portfolio.

'Miss Gupta, before we start I'd like to to speak to you about a newspaper article that has been released about you' Siddharth said with concern. Khushi's heart sank, that Varun asshole was going to get it for sure if she didn't get the job.

'Its about that hug with Arnav Singh Raizada isn't it? Sir, I can assure you he was my friend and it was nothing wrong, the newspaper assumed this. I had made a call back on it which im not sure whether has gone through in todays newspaper though' Khushi said, explaining as best as she could.

'No miss Gupta, that article was innocent, there was nothing wrong in that. But there was a second article released about you, which doesn't seem innocent at all. It could be very bad for our company if we pull you on board' Siddharth said handing Khushi the newspaper. She took the sheets in her hands and gasped, instead of a call back, Varun had released a much more intense article about Khushi wearing Arnav's clothes. There was also a picture of her wearing his t-shirt at the headquarters. Khushi cursed Varun angrily in her mind, that's it. She was going to kill him. Khushi let out a breath and began a second explanation.

'Mr. Oberoi, I have never been in the news till this week and when I was, I tried my hardest to get a call back on the story. Sadly, because the writer... dislikes me, he wrote another fake story and I promise I will get this mess cleaned up. Sir, I would like you to judge me on what you think of me by my interview and work rather then believing what others have to say about me. Maybe this decision can give you a better outcome then trusting a story that is filled with utter nonsense' Khushi told confidently, Siddharth was proud of the confidence and strength she portrayed and instantly knew that a strong figure as such was exactly who he needed to be his partner.

Arnav barged into Varun's office and grabbed Varun by his collar pulling him up.

'How dare you. How dare you right such a sick article about my best friend!' Arnav barked 'She means the world to me, and if she gets hurt, heck if she even gets any impact on herself because of your words. I will destroy you socially. Do a callback RIGHT NOW!'

Varun pulled away in fear at Arnav's anger and stepped back.

'I'll do it. No need to threaten me' Varun mumbled hopelessly

'I'm warning you Varun' Arnav said before he marched out again, knowing he had straightened Varun up very efficiently.

Arnav spent the rest of the day indulged in his work at AR designs. When he checked his phone he found a text from Khushi:

Can you come and pick me up please? Same place

Khush

It was 7pm in the evening and Arnav was shocked at how long this interview had lasted, he sighed. ML co usually did work experience in the interview which usually ran the course of the day. Hopefully she had gotten the job.

'Aman, I'm leaving for the night. E-mail me the project, I'll finish it at home' Arnav demanded before he left through the doors and went to pick up Khushi.

As soon as he reached the company headquarters he parked up and stepped out of the car in search for Khushi. He spotted her coming out of the door, she looked back and froze at the gates, she was extremely far from him but Arnav good feel her happiness dwell inside of him.

'YOU GOT THE JOB DIDN'T YOU?' Arnav yelled towards her. Khushi's face broke out into a grin before she sprinted towards Arnav, within seconds she was in front of him. Not being able to contain her happiness she swung her arms around Arnav's neck and kissed him hard on his mouth.
