"Ineeded this. Jhalak Dikhla Jaa has given me a new life after Jassi," says Mona Singh, who's over the moon. "The show has changed my life in many ways. People are no longer calling me Jassi. I'm finally known as Mona." The judges seem to like Mona more for her spunk and spirit than her intrinsic dancing skills. "I really like the way the judges know that I've two left feet."
Last week Mona complained about the judges being less than generous about their marks. "I didn't complain. I was slightly disappointed. It came across wrongly in the way my words had been edited. That's reality TV for you. I'm very happy people are finally seeing me and accepting me in a personality far removed from Jassi. They thought I couldn't look glamourous and have fun. Suddenly I'm getting messages from guys who think I'm hot. During Jassi, I connected only with girls. I think I'm on the right track now. I've always been the bubbly girl next door."
Mona gives all the credit to her choreographer and dancing partner Tobey. "He's such a funny person, and so am I. If he cracks up at something I say and laughs for forty minutes flat, so do I. We're basically birds of the same feather. He tells me, bigger the mistake the broader the smile. Over the weeks, we've become really close friends. I also plan to join his classes."
