Mona Singh wants to be in TV, radio and films
The actor speaks on how her career is shaping up.
For exuberant actor Mona Singh, her career is top priority. "I am totally concentrating on my dancing as well as my latest dimension as a radio jockey on Big FM which for me is a 'radioactive reality ' show," enthused Mona who is delighted that she finally knows how to play the 'Dandiya'.
Not surprisingly 'Jhalak..' rival-contestant Ajay Jadeja offered her tips on holding and clashing the 'sticks' the right way "Being a Sardar-ni, there is that balle balle Bhangra element that crept in when I was initially swinging the Dandiya. But gradually I got the correct hang of it and it turned out to be great fun," chuckles the actor.
But wasn't she originally a non-dancer? "Yes, but dancing is my ardent passion .When 'Jassi..' concluded, I was on the verge of joining a dance class to learn Latin American dancing . With 'Jhalak..' happening my dream came true. Imagine, I get to learn dancing and am even being 'paid' for it. And, now I am freaking out," laughs Mona who is a die-hard fan of former Bollywood glamour dance-diva Helen.
"If I get to perform my favourite Helen cabaret number with the guy screaming 'Monica O my Darling' before I make my exit on , I guess my mission will have been accomplished," insists Mona who has "terminated " her filmi-debut contract with producer Bobby Pushkarna (of 'Page 3') "because nothing was happening for far too long".
Had she given up on movies after being disillusioned with her initial move? "No way! I will definitely do a movie with a challenging lead role which will also have the naach-gaana syndrome," smiles Mona who will soon be seen hosting the 'emotional' reality TV show 'Extreme Make-Over'(Sony), counseling mentally-shattered victims which will literally be a 'make-over' of an image for her.
Even as Mona's birthday is drawing closer (Oct 8), she is hoping that she "should not get eliminated but be able to have a janamdin hungama on the 'Jhalak...' sets."
