Dear Jyothi,
How good it feels to be back sharing our thoughts about this witches' brew of a serial!
I do not care about Archana's feelings either; that first para was intended as pure satire. And as for the rest, our poor boy is finished for good and all. Every time he bends over backwards to (unsuccessfully )placate that acid tongued shrew of a wife that his eternal beloved has landed him with, I cringe anew.
Well, if you are correct and it IS Arjun's baby, I do not know what to say. There is no depending on any character, and I now dread the day when Dr.Onir is also forced to do a somersault and turn negative. But if it is Arjun's baby, surely Onir, a doctor, would know, and if so why does he (and Purvi, for that matter) talk of hamara bachcha?
You are spot on when you say that "she does not care even about his baby, which, if she was smart, could have been a saving grace for her marriage" You might not have read what I wrote on another thread a week back, but you will see that we agree 100% on this:
"I do feel that it is very foolish of Ovi to carry on as she is doing. Arjun is obviously hung up on his baby* and delighted at the prospect of having it is his life. Given this,if Ovi wanted him to love her eventually, the obvious way for her would have been to play up the baby for all it was worth and thus bring him daily closer to it and her. I would have thought that tactic would have been clear to any female, for all women, even the least intelligent, have some native shrewdness in such matters.
But no, Ovi must carry on like Elizabeth Taylor in Who is afraid of Virginia Woolf. I am by now convinced that the CVs want to bump her off pretty soon, whence this negative build up about her not caring a hoot about her baby".
As for " Seeing the love he has for this unborn baby also does not faze her.. ", that is not surprising; she sees that this is his weak point , and when she is enraged with him, she uses it to hit back and him and hurt him. Do you remember Medea in the Greek tale of the Golden Fleece? She is so vengeful against her unfaithful husband Jason that she murders both their sons to get back at him. Ovi is not quite up there with Medea, who was a terrible and amazing character, but the principle of the thing is the same. Ovi feels nothing for her child per se.
Well, I am looking around for those slippers, and when I have found them, I will let you know!😉
