Qwest they both are master piece and comparing them is not apples to apples(Although never happens in most cases) and are excellent movies. Rung de basanti again is dragged like Lagaan. Both excellent ...but RDB it is stretched again. The real movie starts with th death of Madhwan. My POV only again.

A person should see movies before giving opinion as point of view does change after experiencing the movie.

Iron yes you are right I did had the opportunity to see both movies as personal choice I will pick Rung de basanti over water my opinion.

'Rang De...' to compete in 8 Oscar categories

Mumbai:Rang De Basanti, India's official entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars, will also compete in seven other mainline categories at the 79th Annual Academy Awards to be held in February in Los Angeles.

The other seven categories are: Best Film, Direction, Cinematography, Screenplay, Editing, Art Direction and Sound Design. The film has been directed by Rakeysh Mehra.

"We have also applied in seven mainline categories but our focus will remain in the foreign language category," a release by the film's producers UTV, quoting CEO Ronnie Screwvala, said in Mumbai on Sunday.

When asked about the Sanjay Dutt-starrer Lagey Raho Munnabhai also vying for the coveted Oscars he said, "Only one film can be a country's official entry. Rang De Basanti is India's official entry. We are not competing against any other Indian film at the Oscars."
