Saffi, I am also of the opinion that care and respect can exist exclusive of each other. I know this from my personal experience...the people who cared for me when I was at my lowest in my life didn't really have respect for me...but they love me and I love them, so we co-exist peacefully now, after I broke myself free from them! And now I have the respect too...😊
Prashant has a soft spot for Aarti because of their past together and his caring for her yesterday was partly due to that as well. But he is selfish too and while his jumping to her assistance and giving her fruit and meds was instinctive, once she had settled down to sleep, his selfish nature was out again and he took advantage of the situation to sit and watch her rather than call for help...that was done feeling very righteous in that he is looking after her when she is alone and helpless...a boost to his ego as well!
Prashant is on his way to turning black...but he has not arrived there yet...and Aarti is feeding his desires with her voicing her fears of the family coming to know about her past. I found the scene interesting...and I want more of AarPra confrontations...that is the only thing that will break Aarti enough for her to tell the truth! If Prashant was to withdraw quietly and not intrude into her life after the 3rd BMT, she will again get lulled into a false security and with Shobha's encouragement, she will never gather courage to tell Yash everything! It was P's return to Bhopal which woke her guilty conscience...until then she was avoiding the past and pretending it was not there, with help from her Shobha Ma! 🤔
Why did Prashant tend to Aarti when she fainted? Is it just a calculated move on his part to make himself look good to Aarti? Or is there more to it? I feel it is on some part his wanting to get into Aarti's good books and make her soften towards him, but it is also because they did share some happy times together earlier. The part where he is scolding her and the bit about her being stubborn in a similar way during her pregnancy with Ansh...it was an inadvertent slip on his part. This scene reminded me of a movie which was released maybe 20 years ago, Ijazzat, starring Nasirudeen Shah, Rekha and Anuradha Patel. It was a beautiful movie...where Shah and Rekha who were married but divorced meet in a railway station waiting room when their respective trains are cancelled. It is a story of one night with a lot of FBs and they become comfortable with each other after the initial awkwardness and the climax is Rekha's second husband, Shashi Kapoor, coming to pick her up the next morning! It is almost inevitable that you remember some of the moments in the past when your present comes face to face with that past...😛
As to why did not Prashant call Shobha or Yash once Aarti had settled into sleep, I think this was his selfishness coming to the forefront again. He took his chance to spend time in SM with Aarti alone...even if it was just watching her sleep. He knows that Shobha would not approve of his going to SM, she has already told him not to look back but move on...though she is with him in his fight for survival from his illness, he instinctively knows that his mother would not like his intruding into Aarti's home and life. And why does he not call Yash? Again he does not want to rouse Yash's suspicions the wrong way! Earlier once Yash asked him what makes Aarti angry when he is around and he was able to bluff his way out, but there is every chance the question might come up again. I also feel he realized something he had not thought of before...the 3rd BMT session, for which he needs Aarti's cooperation...so he just takes his chance to sit and watch Aarti and feels very good about being there for Aarti when she is alone and ill.
Aarti is always calling on her Ishwar for help...but she is refusing to recognize the signs her God is sending her and continues to bury her head in the sand...so Prashant and his intrusion is much needed to shake her up! 😊
I am enjoying the track and do not feel it is dragging at all...Aarti is so scared of losing Yash if she tells all, but she does not realize that she will never have him fully if she does not tell all!
