I felt a little irritated yesterday with the chief minister.
I know what he was trying to convey, but still felt it sort of lacked class and polish.
After the mass wedding he thanked all the boys for marrying the divorcee girls and giving them a second chance in life.
I fully understand the sentiment, and understand what he was trying to say, but it bothered me that he was behaving as if the boys had done the girls some kind of great favour -- more as if it was a charity act they had done -- as opposed to both parties equally building a relationship and taking the first steps into a new relationship.
I understand the sentiment, as I said earlier, but really, could the CM have reworded it in a different way or perhaps been a little less tacky???
