Ronit, you asked some very important and interesting questions, about "Adi, the character".
There is no consistency with his character, the CVs are as confused as Adi's character,
They wants to portrayed him as strong and powerful character, but so far they failed in their purpose.
When Adi's was introduced into the show, he was arrogant, egotistical and his hatred for the
Bedni's people was extremely strong, until recently.
Adi was engaged to his lifelong childhood love and friend, he humiliated and abandon her. He tried to be an advocate and savior for Sugni and Gulabia. He then make Rewa and Vickram
violent and abusive marriage his number priority, he needed to save it at all cost, regardless of Vickram wishes, not to stayed married to Rewa.
Adi fulfilled a"vachaan", he made to Gulabia, by doing Sugni's Sardhakai, meanwhile promising his uncle to keep Sugni as his "Amanaat".
Next Adi marry Sugni just to save Gulabia from dying, by going to hospital( emotional blackmail).
Adi conveniently forgot all the promise he made to his uncle/ father figure and mother.
Spending a few days with Sugni, he hopelessly falls in love with her, which he knew she was off limit.
After Rewa released him of his obligation of saving her marriage, he was given an ultimatum, whether he will marry Sugni of not, he choose the latter.
Next he went on an expedition with Sugni looking for Vickram, who was missing, all the while fantasizing about his uncle's love.
Adi was given a prime chance to help Sugni as a friend, and set things right amongst his family, but he choose to get married at gunpoint. Every family members despice him for his selfish action
Adi help himself to his uncle's love, abandon his mother, and sticking by Sugni side, forsaking all
others, so the bottom line is, Adi coveted his uncle's love, abandon his Mother, and other family members, cause he "love Sugni".
Presently, Adi is on a mission to repay Vickram 's loan, and prove to everyone, he responsible, respected and independent, and meanwhile losing site of what's happening around him.
Adi's promises to everyone hold no weight. His love, loyalty, admiration, and devotion is misplaced.
