Competition and jealousy go hand in hand. And so it comes as no surprise that all's not well between Shveta Salve and Mona Singh in Sony's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.

We've heard that while the two girls haven't had an open fight yet, but there's a palpable cold vibe between them.

Says an insider, "Let alone talking, Shveta and Mona don't even sit with the same set of people. If Mona is sitting with a group, Shveta will not join them. Mona comes and greets everyone, except Shveta."

Separate directions

Shweta is very aloof on the sets. The insider says her behaviour is a consequence of her superiority complex. "Shveta is a very high-handed person. Once the cameras stop rolling, everybody huddles in groups and starts chatting. Manjrekar and Jadeja are always together, while Archana, Parmeet and Mona form another group. Shveta is left doing nothing. To avoid being on her own, she'll then call her hairdresser or stylist for something or the other."

But once the cameras are switched on, all is hunky-dory. The source says that Shveta and Mona are then sporting plastic smiles for each other. "They surely won't allow their cold vibes to show on screen. Image ka sawaal hai."

Shweta's insecurity

The friction started once Shveta realised that Mona was one of the participants who could give her a run for her money. But Shveta preferred to laugh it off, saying, "I'm friends with everyone on the show, be it Mahesh Manjrekar, Ajay Jadeja or Mona Singh. In fact, Mona and I had a whale of time in the dandiya round recently. Ask Mona."

However, Mona kept a stony silence on the issue when we tried to get her version. She neither answered our calls, nor replied to SMSes. If all is hunky-dory Shveta, then why did Mona seal her lips?

Even I felt some kind of arrogance in Shveta in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa!!!!!!

Wellllllll! with shweta dunnnnnnno i think she si a reserved kinda person....but mona is a jooly dolly person...who loves to hang aorund and have fun............. 😛

Thanks,i do get the sense that she is a very proud person from her tone of speaking in interviews and the way she carries herself as Ritu. I mean she used to think Rajeev was going to be arrogant before she met him but she was mistaken as he is so down to earth.

ummm...mona and swetha have worked in JJKN b4..so i cant seem 2 picture them having cold vibes...as they know each other from b4 hand...n seemed to av got along.
