Arnav was about to take the stairs to his room when he heard Sid's voice.

"Mate.. You should understand that it is a wrong time when I cut your calls twice... the entire family was there. what is all the urgency?" Sid was talking to someone behind the stairs.

Arnav was'nt much interested anyway in Sid's conversation, though he was kind of intrigued few minutes before and didnt mind much and had already taken three steps when he stopped in his tracks hearing Sid's further conversation.

"Yeah Kushi and boy is safe.. We already reached Shantivan"
...

"What do you mean? I made sure that no outsider would suspect... I and La brought in the boy and no one would have thought it was Kushi's son.. I took the precautions..."

"Oh Shit.. when did this happen?"

"Look... there was enough tension.. I didnt expect there would be a ... Listen mate... the kid was very cranky, he had been crying the whole afternoon, Lav couldnt manage anymore.. I had to leave for a couple of hours"

My observations say he doesnt know much.. they havent had enough time to discuss about it yet...he looked surprised when he saw Arush... if Kushi hadnt let him know about Arush before we reached, I am sure she hasnt told him anything at all..."

Arnav didnt plan to evesdrop on Sid's conversation, but still, it annoyed and angered him bit too much that there were others who knew what was happening in his life than him.. and he was kept in dark. His anger and anxiety arose to a blasting point as he made his way to the room.

Arnav reached the room and gave a bit too much force to open the room door, forgetting for a moment that there was a little one also there .
But as soon as he heard Kushi's soft voice singing lullaby to her son, he tried to stop the door from banging on the wall, and the noise did attract Kushi's attention.

She had been sitting her with legs folded, with Arush cradled on her lap, her back facing him, and she turned to look at him, stopping her lullaby.

Arnav went near Kushi to discover that she had been feeding Arush, her top buttons open, Arnav could glance a part of her voluminous breast before he heard Arush's sucking noises. She tried to cover herself unsuccessfully with her stole and shirt, with a light pink blush raising on her cheeks.

Arnav tried to look away too, but couldnt resist it and was feeling weird looking at the mother and son bond at this level, as much as he knew that it was normal and best for his son, he hadnt really expected it. His wife had been only his when she left him two years ago and now he has to share his wife's love with his son too.

After a awkward 5 minutes (or did it seem more than that?) Kushi slowly eased Arush into the bed, and covered him with a little blanket from the baby bag that La had brought with her.

Arnav looked at Arush who was still sucking at the air in his sleep and then at Kushi who was hastely buttoning up her shirt as she got down from the bed. His eyes caught hers and they looked into eachother as the awkwardness slowly ebbed out. He motioned her to follow him to the pool side.

Sid reached the dining table and sat down. La looked at him curiously as he returned her mobile back

"Fine" he said non chalantly and started gobbling up his food

"out with it... what happened" La whispered to him..

"Nothing La.. you think you could help your friend a little? She seems to be in trouble of being pounced right now" he whispered back

"What do you mean?" La asked as Sid signalled towards the empty chair which Arnav has been occupying a little while ago. La understood quickly and then smiled towards Anjali

"Di... Dont you think those two are gone for a while.. they havent yet taken their dinner" La asked casually as Sid showed his thumbs up under the chair as he stuffed himself with food.

"yeah.. I think we need to send them food.. may be they are a little busy" Anjali winked at La

"or they are struggling with a cranky Arush... I have finished my dinner Di.. I think I have to go up and check on them.. I can stay with Arush and see if they want to come down and have dinner together" La told as she got up and moved towards the stairs

"Is he Ok?" Arnav asked her as Kushi joined him by the pool side.

"yes...He was little restless as its a new place for him..." Kushi told him

"yeah right.. His own house seems new to him isnt it?" Arnav asked sarcastically

Kushi didnt say anything but looked at him with large eyes, welling up.

"Arnavji.. I " Kushi started but Arnav held up his hand

"I think I have asked you enough times about what has been kept away from me. But If you still think that it is right to keep all this away from me and get away with it... "

"Arnav please, I never wanted to keep anything away from you.."

"and oddly thats what you have been doing for two years and more so all this evening" Arnav raised his voice and Arush stirred a little in his sleep.

"Hush.. " Kushi told quickly, going towards the bed, checking on Arush and then came back.

"How could you accuse me like this when all I did was to protect you and your son" Kushi asked him softly but firmly

"Protect me and my son? What bakwas is this? how can anyone protect by not keeping in touch? or running away and refusing to speak or take calls?" Arnav hissed more irritated and angry

"yes, I was asked to keep away from you to save your life and.." Kushi started to explain but stopped talking as Arnav grabbed her arms, pinning her by the wall

"You mean you were threatened? and didnt I tell you those were all empty threats? Shyam is a coward, and he made a fool out of you! If this is the only reason you could give to all the secrecy that you have been displaying.. I.." Arnav stopped abruptly as he looked towards the room where he had heard a small knock

"kushi? ASR?" La came in looking for them. "I hope everything is fine?" she asked quickly as she saw their position

Arnav let Kushi go turning towards La as kushi steadied herself

"We are fine La" Kushi told assuringly and smiled at her... "Just having a chat"

"you both have an odd way of having a chat" La muttered

"What is it Lavanya?" Arnav sounded rude though he didnt meant to

"er.. You both havent had your dinner yet, I thought may be "

"You didnt have your dinner still?" Kushi asked Arnav quickly

"I can stay with Arush for sometime, you can go down and finish your dinner. Di is waiting for you"

"Thanks La..But No I dont feel hungry" Arnav told her. Kushi started to tell something when La interuppted

"May be I can bring some food up here? Di wanted to send the plate up actually..." LA was persistent

"Thats Ok La.. I will go and bring some food up..." Kushi told her.

She looked at Arnav

"I will be back" she told him softly and crossed him and went out with La as Arnav watched them go.

"not again" he muttered

"Oops.. that was close..." La breathed.." I was getting desperate and started thinking you were not getting the clue at all"
"I knew you wanted me to come out the moment I realised you were persistent about food.. even after noticing we were in the middle of a talk...What is it? was the call from..."
"I dont know... I didnt get to talk with Sid yet.. But I guess he wants us to hold on for sometime I believe."
"But why?"
"No Idea" La pouted
"Arnav is insistent La.. He needs to know.. its only right that he should know..I have kept it away from him for long...How do you expect me to keep anything from him"
"Ask the devil himself" La said as they saw Sid approaching them

"Sid, IS everything alright ? was the call from..." Kushi was stopped by Sid's reassuring smile as he held her hand quickly.
"Everything is as fine it can be.." Sid winked at La and Kushi
"Why dont you want to tell Arnav about everything? How can I not tell him now? He wants to know... I cant hold it anymore."
"Who said not to tell him anything? tell him as much as you think he will believe"
"Sid you are talking in riddles"
"you need to solve it Kushi.. what is all the fun if I give you the answer right away?" Sid laughed as Kushi mumbled something and La shook her head...
"Kushi listen, I and La are staying here for the night" Sid finally got serious
"What?" La asked "But Sid Why.."

They quickly fell into silence as Sid motioned them behind him where Anjali was coming to them

"What you three discussing standing here?"
"Nothing Di.. I was asking them to stay for the night here..." Kushi cleverly managed.
"Oh yeah... Stay here..."
"Di.. but..." La started
"Not buts and ifs" Anjali said.. "Stay here.. its too late to go back.. you can sleep in my room, Ashok will be away for the night so I am staying here too...We have a lot of catching up to do... and Sid can sleep with NK"
"What?" Sid called out putting on an unbelievable expression "but"
"But what?" Anjali asked as Kushi bit her lip not to burst out laughing
"And Kushi, come and have dinner... "
"No Di... I will take the plate for both of us upstairs"
"Ok, I will bring you the plate" Anjali moved from there

"Ok love sick boy... control yourself.. and enjoy tonight with Nanheji"
"Stop Joking Kushi, Does this house treat grown up boys like this?" Sid muttered as he saw kushi walking towards the kitchen

La looked at Sid, he was not wearing a naughty or teasing look as he would normally in such conditions
"Whats wrong Siddy?" She asked him.
"I have to go meet him tonight La.. it seems they found out. I cant risk anyone in the family finding out" Sid told her
"What? How did they find out?" She asked sid worriedly
"No idea..."
"But isnt it a bad idea for him to come here? We should have atleast gone back to the hotel"
"and leave them open for any attack? " Sid asked La pointing upstairs "its not safe for them... when Arnav doesnt know yet... I dont know how he would react to the truth... he wont believe... we dont have any proof to convince him yet"
"Oh siddy!"
"Dont worry... Everything will be fine" Sid assured her with a smile

"What will be fine?" Kushi asked as they saw her coming back with a food laden tray
"everything" La told her, giving her a hug " have a fun filled night"
"Fun filled?" Kushi asked her "With the situation right now.. I could cut the tension in my room with a knife" Kushi told her
"Oh yeah... with all that thick tension in your room, you still managed to get nice swollen lips and ruffled hair before you came to answer the door for us isnt it" La whispered into kushi's ears, as kushi's eyes went round
"shut up" She laughed, "Good night to you both too..I managed to convince di to let you both sleep in her room, She will be sleeping with Nani" she told as she moved towards the stairs
"Thanks Kushi, you are an angel" Sid called out hearing what she told.

La and Sid looked at eachother and sighed.
