I have been trying to make sense of the chaos and confusion that is Pavitra Rishta now, though I don't know why as Ekta maya and logic are at a tangent. Nevertheless I am giving it a stab for my own sanity.
I think it is pretty evident from today's SBB wherein Arjun whacks Ovi, Purvi, in keeping with her character, will be mahaan and leave Mumbai for Kolkata so that her ex beau Arjun and his obsessive spouse aka Ovi (who is reminding me more and more of Glen Close in Fatal Attraction) can be happy. I am just waiting for Ovi to boil the rabbit. Once in Kolkata, I think Purvi will find she is pregnant with Arjun's child after their dalliance in THAT hut, a couple of days prior to their marriage date. There is no way that the baby will be fathered by the new entrant Dr Onir. Why would she move to the other side of the country to forget Arjun and then, marry and fall pregnant with someone else's baby instantly?
I am certain that Purvi will meet the doctor consequent of her pregnancy but am uncertain as to whether she will be married to him. If married, it will simply be to give her baby a name, which is still so required in the patriarchal and hypocritical society that is India, especially where women are concerned.
But this would signal the final nail in the coffin of the long awaited Purvi-Arjun union which is the carrot that Balaji are dangling to its audience. It is pretty unimaginable that Purvi would break a relation with a guy who has given her sahara-after all this is a middle class girl sanskari girl who sacrificed her love for her mum (oops apart from the pre-marital sex) More likely and far more palatable is that the doc and Purvi will pretend to be married once they bump into Arjun and co, to ensure the baby secret is intact, otherwise armageddon would ensue.
Now moving onto the most intriguing part and that is the equation between Arjun and Ovi and how Ovi has become pregnant. It stands to reason that Arjun will be devastated once Purvi leaves Mumbai and will do everything in his power, along with Archana to look for her and in reality would hold Ovi responsible for Purvi's departure'..So the million dollar question is why would be impregnate Ovi? A few possibilities comes to mind, like the tried and tested formula of a drunken liaison where Arjun mistakes Ovi for Purvi (he could plough a whole field given his levels of fertility), or as speculated by some, Ovi could have slept with someone else or may be faking the pregnancy.
If god forbid, troll ovi is caring Arjun's baby, I can't see him leaving her no matter how much he loves Purvi, even if she is carrying his child. Only if Ovi died would Arjun marry the mahaan Purvi who would play mummy to her child along with Ovi's child'Your thoughts?
