Hi!..after many stressful hours at uni i return with a new topic😉..

..ok so i was watching a jassi rerun today-(and man this show was a classic to say the least)-and i got thinking..

..the entire shows premise was the ideal that one doesnt necessarily have to have beauty physically to be beautiful-and i guess to a large extent this was proven by jassis huge popularity-but the shows characters were constantly undermining jassi for that exact reason and not only that we as the viewers were desperate for jassi to undergo a transformation!..

..lolz i realised what a mistake that was!-watching the rerun today i found myself regretting ever wnting jassi to be transformed into miss india..

..reading a post enquiring about why jassi changed into jessica got me thinking-can an individual possess both beauty and a nice personality?-looking at jassis transformation what i found was that she seemed to lose half her original charm!..

..i watched a film the other day called 'shallow hal'-i recommend it to anyone who hasnt and some important points were made about beauty-according to the character-ugly girls develop personalities and intelligence coz they need to have some sort of quality and distraction-and those ugly girls that become swans(the ugly duckling story..) and develop beauty later find themselves with both beauty and brains..

..lolz so my question-can u really have both?..

Hmmmm....yes, I believe you can...but then, my definition of beauty might be very different from that of other people. Beauty is as difficult to define as love. Beauty is a quality of the soul, and so i don't see how that can be incompatible with brains.

But if you are referring to the Miss India kind of "beauty", then maybe, someone who changes into a swan overnight may get so caught up with people's reaction to her changed appearance, that she may lose her internal locus and start seing herself though the world's narrow eyes. It is then that the "beauty" loses its purity.

But as regards Jassi, i don't think that the vital something she lost was because of her makeover; it was because the serial's storyline went down the drain. 😭

I completely agree with blyton here .The only thing abt "miss india" beauty types changing overnight losing their purity, well even that differs from person to person and how each individual interprets or defines beauty .Maybe some would feel that the swan is true beauty and pure and some wont but coming back to the topic, yeah ,beauty and brains can def go together .

as blyton said ,each persons definition of beauty is different and hence its very difficult to come to an agreement .

Its hard to conclude to one answer to your question, Aishah. Blyton and Tina explained it very beutifully the two aspects of Beauty: Inner and Outer. We cannot deny the fact that person's beauty lies within and it varies from person to person. Some people are very beautiful inside and not very confident because they are not so beautifully for millions of eyes. In this case if you have the sources, you go ahead and change your outer beauty to a Societal Acceptable Level if thats what help you gain some more Confidence and face the society boldly. On the other hand some people are very beautiful inside and also very confident ( Like Myself. I am not very beautiful but I am full of confidence and positive attitude) but not very beautiful outside, they don't need to get any makeover to face the society and walk with beauty Queens.
I would say, listen to your body and soul. Do whatever it takes to make proud of what you are by using any limited resources you have. Nothing is impossible in this world.
Always Remember my words: Don't label yourself with what other people think you are. You must let the WORLD around you know who you are and what you are.

A person's face is the first thing people see, but after knowing a person, they dont notice, how one looks. it is the inner beauty of the person that works.I know many people, who are not beautiful or are even ugly.but people still like them, even love them.so here I dont agree with jassi's storyline. I think,it was not nessesary to show jassi's makeover.& I am glad that at least they showed that Armaan fell in love with Jassi, when she looked like, she did- before the makeover.
