In a fit of anger, the choreographer calls Shweta Kawatra 'manly'

The inaugural episode of Nach Baliye 2 had more fireworks than the channel bargained for. Fiery as ever, judge Saroj Khan let out a nasty salvo at poor contestant Shweta Kawatra, telling the former Pallavi of Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki that she is 'manly'. Shweta didn't know what hit her when Saroj commented rudely on the lack of femininity and grace in her dance steps.

"Your movements are not ladylike," the in-your-face Saroj is supposed to have said to poor Shweta, in her most imperious Urdu, thereby reducing the poor contestant and her husband TV star Maanav Govil, not to mention the other contestants, to a few seconds of desperate anxiety before they regained their composure.

On being asked about Ms Khan's shockingly improper comment, a spokesperson of Star One said, "These things happen. Sarojji's comment when taken in the right Hindi-Urdu spirit doesn't really sound that mean or rude. It's only when you translate her words into Hindi do the words sound so harsh."

Interestingly, the judges on the rival dance show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa are far less belligerent in their observations and comments. Shilpa Shetty says, "We don't want to make the contestants unhappy or make viewers interested in our show by being rude to the contestants. I don't want to comment on any other show. But on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa we just want to have fun."

well; one must keep in mind that Saroj Khan choreographs some of the best dancers in BWOOD and she just got done choreographing Aishwarya Rai for Umrao Jaan and Jodha Akbar so in comparison to Ash's graceful dancing Shwetha must have danced quite badly for her to say something like that;

and dance teachers yell at their students all the time; she must have been disappointed; lets look at it from Saroj ji's side
i dont mean to hurt anyone BUT it shld be considered that Shweta must be really bad for Saroj ji to say smthng like that

plus the ppl on JDJ arent rilli being honest with their opinions and its irritating to see their boring comments; I like Farah Khan and she is an ambassador of indian dance vis a vis her contribution to Bombay dreams and Shakira's damce at the VMA BUTTTT at least saroj Ji is HONEST and gives dancing much more preference as her art compared to the stars in front of her and hurting their feelings

Well,Saroj Ji wasnt politically correct,and it surely needs to taken in the right spirits.....For someone of her calibre,Shwetha's dance would have looked really bad

Besides,I yet have to see a television actress dancing gracefully(barring svetha salve)....Because,most of them act like jungless on the dance floor at parties...Hope every star who just lets thair hair loose without giving a moment's thought as to whether they look dignified and graceful learn😛..Orelse,we would just have more the the keerthi-esque predicaments🤢
