RK’s acting made veteran actor manoj cry

Ram Kapoor is overjoyed on receiving a call from veteran actor Manoj Kumar complimenting him for his performance in a scene in Kasamh Se


Ram Kapoor aka Jay Walia of Kasamh Se is on cloud nine. He received a call from veteran actor-filmmaker Manoj Kumar congratulating him about his performance in one of the recent episodes of the serial.

So what was Ram's reaction when Manojji called? "I really can't express how happy I am. Getting a call from someone of Manojji's stature is an honour. I am still in a daze. This is perhaps the best compliment I have ever received. Monojji said that he had been watching the serial since a long time and had wanted to call me up. And when he saw this scene (of Jay touching his wife's stomach and speaking to the unborn child), he couldn't restrain himself and called up the writer of the serial to get my number. I was speechless."

Ram was even more touched when Manoj Kumar explained to him from a filmmakers's point of view. "Manojji discussed the graph of the scene and added that he never thought that anyone on the small-screen could make him cry. And then he invited me to his place for a cup of tea," Ram adds.

Manoj Kumar, when contacted, says, "It was a very dramatic and high voltage scene.But the way Ram presented it with a restrained subtlety, sans opening his eyes and tears rolling down, it looked as if he was talking straight from his heart. I was clean bowled. After years, I have liked something on television."

Ask him if he is a regular television watcher and he says, "I personally like to watch talk-shows and news. But I like Kasamh Se and otherwise whatever my wife watches."
