Dreaming is a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person's mind during sleep. While hallucination is an experience involving something not present. It can be either verbal or visionary and it can be when he is not sleeping.

In that moment, all these thoughts crossed KD's mind at once. When he turned to look at the girl sitting with her back against bed's headboard, his mind confirmed that it wasn't a hallucination.

"Good morning!" She said, her eyes still sleepy. Even in such a weak state, she found a way to cock her head at him, challenging.

"Goo-good morning." He stuttered. "I just- ah- was-"

"Checking on me, I know." She said. Her I-know-something-you-don't look made KD nervous.

"Panchi sent me." He took a deep breath frowning, turned around and walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. This wasn't good.

KD opened his laptop and turned on all the security cameras in the school. He had been surveying her every move. Kiya was a good girl. She did all her work, concentrated in her classes and made her share of friends. Everyone seemed to love her. Panchi was always by her side, protecting her. The recorded video from that morning played before him.

KD looked away from the screen and turned to his phone. Just then he heard his door creak a little. He waited for the screen on the door to turn on.

"Open up!" Ranveer said through the camera, rolling his eyes in impatience. KD sighed and turned his desk lamp to the right. Ranveer walked in through the door that slid open.

"What?" KD asked, his eyes tired. Ranveer handed him a USB.

"Aadin Malhotra. Moved to United States three weeks ago. Two days after Kiya landed. According to his legal transportation papers, he is from Cuba, but when I cross-checked, I realized his French is stronger than his Spanish." Ranveer talked about Kiya's latest lover boy. KD smirked as he opened the file on his laptop. "Aadin is his alias. He real identity is still unknown." Ranveer then pointed at the screen where a map had popped up. "All his dates with Kiya has been in this areas. It's a radius surrounding Marco Cafe."

Ranveer went around the room and plopped down on KD's bed on the other side. He opened the second drawer besides the bed and swung his legs, now settled on the bed.

"And this buddy, is que necesito completar mi investigacion!" Ranveer smirked, holding up the hacker chip KD had bought from Scar ' A world-class hacker.

"Why? Let Panchi do it!" KD said. He wouldn't mind hacking computers himself, but he was needed at the break-field tonight to drop a package.

"She is busy." Ranveer said and his face turned angry.

"With what? May I ask." KD frowned.

"She apparently found an exciting partner." Ranveer muttered angrily.

"What is that suppose to mean!" KD didn't cease his voice. It rang through the room.

"She is on a date." Ranveer said sadly. KD bit his lip.

"Shouldn't you stop her? We are not normal people who should be going on dates, you know." He tried to encourage Ranveer. Ranveer turned to him with a frown.

"But he is an agent too."

"So? We can't trust anyone in our life." KD said. Ranveer stood up. His face lightened up as if he just discovered the biggest secret of spy-world.

"Really? Do you think I should go and tell her that?" He asked.

"You will interrupt her date?" KD asked, hiding a smile.

"Dosti mein no regrets buddy!" He said, already walking to the door.

"You talk in hindi only when you're drunk." KD said. Ranveer turned to grin at him and simply shrugged. Within seconds, he was already in the car and KD stood watching Ranveer speed off as the garage door behind to slide down.

"Can you please open it again? I need to get out of here!" KD knew the voice even before he turned around. Kiya stood before him all dressed up for party. KD cocked his head.

"You're not going anywhere!" He stated. She looked at him with bored eyes.

"You're going to stop me?" She referred him as if he was an anti-socializing bug, and not a bullet-taking-while-kissing spy. Though part of that was certainly not false.

"Look! I am sure Ranveer and Panchi are going to be out for very long. For safety measure, I can't let you go." KD turned off the garage light and stepped back, closing the door.

"What? I am seventeen! I can stay out at least until midnight even with my mom around!" She exclaimed, making a move towards the door. Within seconds, she was pushed up against the wall.

"Just go back to your room alright!" He said.

There are times when you're surprised at people's replies. And there are times when you're shocked. Even the latter was an understatement for KD as he felt the girl he was suppose to protect twist his hand and make him land on his back, on the floor. The silence that followed was so sharp, it felt like its cutting through the air.

"How did you do that?" KD managed to talk.

"Practice." She said the word as if she had repeated it over and over until it had made a private suite in her mind. "Practice." She repeated.

"You can't learn this without special tutoring." He said. She didn't reply. Her eyes staring at him, surprised at her act. KD jumped from the ground and twisted her hand to her back. Pushing her against the wall."Talk!"

"I don't need to tell you anything." She said. "Besides, you tell me how do you know all this. You know I play Karate."

KD's hands loosened. He let go of her hands as he realized she is right.

"I am hungry, I am going for dinner." She said and started to walk out of the door.

"I am going with you." He said, following her.

"I am going on a date!" She said annoyed.

"And he isn't coming to pick you up?" KD asked, his eyebrows rose in question.

"That's none of your business! You're not coming with me." She said, and sat in her car. A moment later the garage door opened.

(Those who don't know, we get a hands-free remote control that we keep in the car.)

KD stood and watched her go.

For a spy, there is only one thing to trust, their instincts. And right then, KD's instincts said that Kiya wasn't what she seemed. She was perfectly capable of protecting herself. He ran back to his old room, where Kiya now stayed and surveyed it. He opened the drawer he had first found her diary and pen.

And he was right. It wasn't a diary. It wasn't a pen. It was a stylus that recorded information. The diary was blank.

"You caught me." The whisper was clear as a moon behind him. He smirked and turned around.

"Yes I did!"
